Abstract
【解決手段】ピエゾ素子から発振され構造用複合材料を伝搬する弾性波を光ファイバセンサの反射光の波長振動により検出することにより構造用複合材料の損傷を探知するシステムにおいて、波長振動を高感度に検出するために光ファイバセンサの反射光の出力端に並列接続された2つの光学フィルタを設ける。この2つの光学フィルタに係る通過域の中心74C,75Cを反射光の中心波長73Cの両側に固定して検出を行う。

Description
このような複合材料の損傷、欠陥等の探知を行う装置として、特許文献1,2には、FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating)光ファイバセンサを用いた損傷探知装置が記載されている。光ファィバは、昨今では細径化(例えば、直径55[μm])が進んでおり、構造物に埋め込んでも、当該構造物の強度の低下をあまり生じないため、その設置に関して自由度が高いという利点を備えている。
さらに、特許文献1記載の発明には、予め取得した正常な構造用複合材料による検出データとの比較を行うか、他の方法として、スペクトラムアナライザの検出する周波数分布による特定周波数の非振動時からの変動値に閾値を設定し、それ以下の場合は損傷ありと判定しても良い旨記載されている(段落0032)。
光を反射するグレーディングが復数設けられ隣り合うグレーディング間の距離が変化すると反射光の波長域が変化するグレーティング部がコア部に形成され、前記被検体から伝達される弾性波に応じて前記波長域を振動させる光ファイバセンサと、
少なくとも前記波長域の振動域を含む程度以上に広帯域の光を前記コア部に入力する光源と、
前記光ファイバセンサの出力端に接続された2つの光学フィルタと、
前記加振装置による加振時に得られる前記2つの光学フィルタの出力値を演算処理する演算処理装置とを備え、

前記2つの光学フィルタに係る通過域は、前記波長の振動域に懸かり、一方の通過域の中心波長が前記反射光の中心波長の振動中心の上域に固定され、他方の通過域の中心波長が前記反射光の中心波長の振動中心の下域に固定されていることを特徴とする損傷探知システムである。
ピエゾ素子21は、外部から駆動電圧を印加されると、その厚さ方向に厚み変化を生じる。かかる性質を利用して、制御装置41は、任意のピエゾ素子21に対して駆動用のパルス電圧を印加し、構造用複合材料Zに瞬間的な振動を加える。
光ファイバ34は、その一端部においてスペクトラムアナライザ42に接続されており、当該スペクトラムアナライザ42が有する光源により、所定範囲の波長帯域を網羅する照射光がコア部32に入射される。このスペクトラムアナライザ42から入射する光は、コア部32を伝搬してグレーティング部33でその一部の波長光のみが反射される。
かかる図に示すように、グレーティング部33は、コア部32の屈折率を一定の周期で変化するように構成されている。グレーティング部33は、かかる屈折率の変化している境界部分で特定の波長の光のみ選択的に反射する。このグレーティング部33に振動によりひずみ等の外乱が加えられると格子間隔の変化(伸縮)に伴なって反射光の波長が変化する。
ここで、FBG光ファイバセンサの反射光の波長変化ΔλBは、コアの実効屈折率をn、グレーティング間隔をΛ、ポッケルス係数をP11,P12、ポアソン比をν、印加歪をε、ファイバ材の温度係数をα、温度変化をΔTとすると次式で表される(Alan D. Kersey, Fiber Grating Sensors”JOURNAL OF LIGHTWAVE TECHNOLOGY, Vol. 15, No. 8, 1997)。
光サーキュレータ62は、光源61からの光を光ファイバセンサ30a〜d側へ進行させ、返ってきた光ファイバセンサ30a〜dからの反射光をAWGモジュール63の入力ポートP0へと導出する。光サーキュレータ62により導出された反射光は光ファイバ69によりAWGモジュール63の入力ポートP0に導入される。
図4(b)に示すように、光ファイバセンサ30からの反射光の入力分布73Tが現れる。ピエゾ素子21による加振時には、ピエゾ素子21を発振源とする弾性波が構造用複合材料Zを伝搬し、光ファイバセンサ30は構造用複合材料Zから伝達される弾性波に応じて出力する反射光の波長を振動させる。この波長の振動を図示すると図4(a)の入力波73Wとなる。
この波長の振動により、図4(b)に示す反射光入力分布73Tは、上位、下位に交互にシフトして微小に振動し、波長の値は増減を繰り返す。
このような波長振動において、図中73Cは、反射光入力分布73Tの中心波長の振動中心である。一方の光学フィルタの通過域75Tの中心波長75Cは振動中心73Cの上域に固定されている。また、他方の光学フィルタの通過域74Tの中心波長74Cは振動中心73Cの下域に固定されている。
また、中心波長75C及び中心波長74Cは、振動中心73Cから反射光の波長振動の振幅以上に離れた位置に固定されている。
さらに、反射光入力分布73Tの静止時において、上位の通過域75Tの下位側のスロープ75T−1は、反射光入力分布73Tの上位側のスロープ73T−1に交わり、上位の通過域75Tと反射光入力分布73Tとは波長振動の振幅以上の幅で重なる。
同様に、反射光入力分布73Tの静止時において、下位の通過域74Tの上位側のスロープ74T−1は、反射光入力分布73Tの下位側のスロープ73T−2に交わり、下位の通過域74Tと反射光入力分布73Tとは波長振動の振幅以上の幅で重なる。
反射光入力分布73Tに対し以上の位置関係に通過域75T及び通過域74Tを固定することにより、反射光の波長振動を高感度に検出することができる。
上位の光学フィルタは反射光入力分布73Tが通過域75Tに重なる部分に相当する反射光を通過させて出力する。同様に、下位の光学フィルタは反射光入力分布73Tが通過域75Tに重なる部分に相当する反射光を通過させて出力する。
そのため、反射光の中心波長の変化が図4(a)に示す入力波73Wにより振動する時、通過域75Tを有する上位の光学フィルタの出力値は、図4(c)に示す出力波75Wを生成し、通過域74Tを有する下位の光学フィルタの出力値は、図4(c)に示す出力波74Wを生成する。図4(c)に示すように、出力波74Wと出力波75Wは逆位相の波動となる。
CPU51は、ウェーブレット変換による出力波の解析を行う。
すなわち、CPU51は、相反する一対の出力波データを対象にして、式(1)で定義されるDI値を算出する。なお、出力ポートP1,P2を出力元とする2つの出力波データ、出力ポートP3,P4を出力元とする2つの出力波データ、出力ポートP5,P6を出力元とする2つの出力波データ、出力ポートP7,P8を出力元とする2つの出力波データのそれぞれが相反する一対の出力波データとなる。
CPU51は、DI値や、DI値に基づく情報を表示モニタ56に表示出力し、システムオペレータに、損傷の有無、規模、箇所等を知るために有効な情報を与える。
例えば、図6に示すように、予め閾値76をRAM53等に記憶させることにより設定しておき、CPU51は、算出したDI値と閾値76との大小判断処理を行い、DI値が閾値76を超えていれば、損傷の発生を表示モニタ56に出力するシステムとする。
検出・演算結果の表示形態は、最も単純にはDI値を数値で表示する構成でも有効であるが、上記の閾値処理により損傷の有無を表示し、また、損傷の有無のみならず、損傷の規模、損傷発生箇所等を表示する便宜の良い表示形態を構成すると良い。
図7に示す光ファイバセンサ30mとピエゾ素子21mの配置のように、光ファイバセンサ及びピエゾ素子等の加振源は、できるだけ光ファイバセンサにおける弾性波の伝搬方向と光ファイバセンサの光軸が一致するように配置することが好ましい。これにより、光ファイバセンサは、伝搬される弾性波を高感度に感知することできる。
同図に示す光ファイバセンサ30nとピエゾ素子21nの組み合わせは、光ファイバセンサにおける弾性波の伝搬方向に対し光ファイバセンサの光軸が90°に交わり、最も感度を悪くする配置であり、このような組み合わせでの使用を避けるべきである。
図8に示すように、構造用複合材料Zに固定された光ファイバセンサ30の光軸77に対し、様々な位置にピエゾ素子21を配置して発振させた時のスペクトルアナライザ42の出力波を得た。θ=0°,45°,90°の場合に得られた波形をそれぞれ図9(a)(b)(c)に示す。また、θ=0°, ±30°, ±45°, ±60°, ±90°の場合に得られた出力波の最大値を図10のグラフに示した。
しかし、実際の構造中では、弾性波の伝搬が複雑になるため、次の(1)〜(3)のようにして最適な配置を実現することが好ましい。
(1)まず、損傷を検知したい部分及び形状をモデル化する。
(2)次に、汎用ソフトウエアPZFLEX上で、構造の任意の位置にピエゾ素子を設置する。さらに数値解析により、ピエゾ素子から弾性波が送られた場合の波の伝搬方向及び圧力分布を求める。
(3)(2)の結果を基に、圧力の最も高くなる位置に、弾性波が進んでくる方向とは平行に光ファイバセンサを配置する。
弾性波を取得するためには、最適なセンサ位置の他、最適なセンサ長を設定する必要がある。弾性波の波長と、これを受振する光ファイバセンサ30のセンサ長(又はグレーディング部の長さ)との関係に依存して光ファイバセンサの弾性波検出感度が異なるからである。
そこで、弾性波を受振する光ファイバセンサ30の反射光スペクトルを理論的にシュミレーションし、光ファイバセンサ30の弾性波を検出するための最適なセンサ長を解析的に求める。
例えばセンサ長10[mm]の場合に弾性波を受信する光ファイバセンサ30の反射光スペクトルを理論的にシミュレーションすると、図11に示すような結果が得られる。図11(a)は弾性波波長を10[mm]とした場合、図11(b)は弾性波波長を30[mm]とした場合、図11(c)は弾性波波長を70[mm]とした場合の解析結果である。この解析結果から、弾性波の波長が30[mm]以上の場合、各時間における応答周波数のピークが現れている。従って、弾性波波長はセンサ波長の3倍程度は確保すべきである事が確認できる。すなわちセンサ長は、弾性波波長の1/3程度であれば弾性波が精度良く検出可能であることが明らかとなった。
一方、複合材料に射ち込む弾性波の周波数fを300[kHz]とすると、図13より弾性波の伝搬速度vはS0波(構造中を伝達する波のモードの一つで対称波、図12(a)参照)が6[km/sec]、A0波(構造中を伝達する波のモードの一つで非対称波、図12(b)参照)が2[km/sec]となり、そのときの弾性波の波長λはλ=v/fよりS0波が20[mm]、A0波が6[mm]と計算できる。先の結果からこの波長の1/3をセンサ長と考えると,S0波の検出にはセンサ長を7[mm]以下、A0波の検出にはセンサ長を2[mm]以下にする必要がある。
S0波及びA0波の検出を感度良好に行うため、最適なセンサ長を2[mm]以下に設定する。但し、センサ長を短くするとセンサによる反射光のスペクトル形状がブロードになり、センサ感度が低下する傾向にあるので、1〜2[mm]のセンサ長を選択すると良い。

Claims (5)
- 被検体に振動を加える加振装置と、
光を反射するグレーディングが復数設けられ隣り合うグレーディング間の距離が変化すると反射光の波長域が変化するグレーティング部がコア部に形成され、前記被検体から伝達される弾性波に応じて前記波長域を振動させる光ファイバセンサと、
少なくとも前記波長域の振動域を含む程度以上に広帯域の光を前記コア部に入力する光源と、
前記光ファイバセンサの出力端に接続された2つの光学フィルタと、
前記加振装置による加振時に得られる前記2つの光学フィルタの出力値を演算処理する演算処理装置とを備え、
前記2つの光学フィルタに係る通過域は、前記波長域の振動域に懸かり、一方の通過域の中心波長が前記反射光の中心波長の振動中心の上域に固定され、他方の通過域の中心波長が前記反射光の中心波長の振動中心の下域に固定されていることを特徴とする損傷探知システム。 - 前記光学フィルタは、アレイ導波路回折格子(AWG:Arrayed Waveguide Grating)型光フィルタであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の損傷探知システム。
- 前記グレーティング部が形成された光ファイバセンサは、前記被検体から伝達される弾性波の波長の1/3以下のグレーティング部の長さが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の損傷探知システム。
- 前記演算処理装置は、前記2つの光学フィルタから出力される一定期間の出力値の変化を解析して、前記被検体の損傷の規模に相当する値を算出することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の損傷探知システム。
- 光を反射するグレーディングが復数設けられ隣り合うグレーディング間の距離が変化するとグレーティング部がコア部に形成された光ファイバセンサと、
前記波長域を含む広域帯の光を前記コア部に入力する光源と、
前記光ファイバの出力端に接続された2つの光学フィルタと、
前記2つの光学フィルタの出力値を演算処理する演算処理装置とを備え、
前記2つの光学フィルタに係る通過域は、前記波長の振動域に懸かり、一方の通過域の中心波長が前記反射光の中心波長の振動中心の上域に固定され、他方の通過域の中心波長が前記反射光の中心波長の振動中心の下域に固定されていることを特徴とする損傷探知システム。
