Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a technology of an exhaust silencer, and more particularly to a technology of an outer cover of an exhaust silencer having an exhaust pipe, an exhaust pipe, and the like.
However, as shown in the prior art, if the shape of the exhaust silencer is limited to a cylindrical shape, the space that can actually be secured as an exhaust path cannot be used effectively, resulting in waste and a sufficient silencing volume. In some cases, it could not be secured. Further, if the shape is individually changed in accordance with the space that can be secured as the exhaust path, it takes time and effort to mold.
Therefore, in view of the above problems, the present invention provides an outer cover of an exhaust silencer that can release the shape of the exhaust silencer from the restriction by roll molding and ensure a silence volume.
The problem to be solved by the present invention is as described above. Next, means for solving the problem will be described.
That is, in claim 1, in the outer cover of the exhaust silencer that covers the outside of the silencer chamber, the outer cover is constituted by a cylindrical outer cylinder and side plates that cover the front and rear of the outer cylinder, The upper and lower cover members having a substantially U shape in cross section are configured by vertically joining the open sides facing each other.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, a plate-like extension member can be attached between the upper and lower cover members.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, the upper and lower cover members are the same part.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, one of the joint portions of the cover member is configured in a straight line shape in cross section, and the other is formed in a hook shape in cross section.
As effects of the present invention, the following effects can be obtained.
According to the first aspect of the present invention, it is possible to configure outer cylinders of various shapes without limitation, and to secure a sound deadening volume, rather than to bend one member.
According to the second aspect, the volume can be easily changed only by changing the length of the extending member in the vertical direction. Further, the extension member can be easily constituted by a plate.
According to the third aspect, the manufacturing is simple, the types of parts can be reduced, and the cost can be reduced. Moreover, by comprising with the same member, the investment with respect to a type | mold can be reduced, and since a process is simplified, working efficiency improves.
According to the fourth aspect of the present invention, the contact area of the joint can be increased and the strength of the joint can be increased. Moreover, positioning at the time of joining can be performed easily.

First, the outline of the engine 1 including the exhaust silencer 11 will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
As a main configuration of the engine 1, a cylinder head 3 is attached to an upper end portion of the cylinder block 2, and an oil pan 4 for storing lubricating oil is attached to a lower end portion. In the cylinder block 2, a cylinder (not shown) is arranged vertically in the center of the inside, a piston (not shown) is accommodated in the cylinder, and the lower part is a crankcase.
An intake port (not shown) and an exhaust port (not shown) inside the cylinder head 3 are communicated with and cut off from a cylinder inside the cylinder block 2 by an intake valve (not shown) and an exhaust valve (not shown). When the engine 1 is a multi-cylinder engine, a plurality of cylinder heads 3 are provided, and the exhaust manifold 5 is formed with manifolds so as to branch from one main pipe so as to correspond to the multi-cylinder engine. The front end of the manifold is configured to face the cylinder head 3 side.
Exhaust gas from the engine 1 is discharged into the exhaust passage of the cylinder head 3, and the exhaust gas discharged from the cylinder head 3 is from the respective openings of an exhaust inlet (not shown) which is a manifold of the exhaust manifold 5. It is discharged to an exhaust passage in the exhaust manifold 5. The exhaust gas joins on the downstream side of the exhaust passage, and is then discharged to the exhaust outlet portion 5a that is the main pipe. A supercharger 28 disposed above the exhaust outlet 5a is connected.
Next, the exhaust silencer 11 will be described.
As shown in FIGS. 6, 7, and 8, the exhaust silencer 11 includes a substantially cylindrical outer cover 12, side plates 15 and 15 that cover the front and rear of the outer cover, and a part of the outer cover 12. The exhaust connecting pipe 13 is provided, and the exhaust pipe 14 is provided perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the outer cover 12. The outer cover 12 is fixed to the fixed base 6.
That is, the exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust outlet 5 a of the exhaust manifold 5 passes through the supercharger 28, passes through the exhaust connection pipe 13, passes through the silencer chamber 16 that is inside the exhaust silencer 11, and is exhausted from the exhaust pipe 14. Discharged from.
The exhaust pipe 14 is formed in a hollow cylindrical shape and penetrates the silencer 16. A plurality of exhaust holes 14a are formed in the side surface of the exhaust pipe 14 that extends through the silencer 16, and the upper end is opened so that it can be released into the atmosphere. A drain 14b is disposed at the lower end so that the exhaust gas can be discharged when the exhaust gas is cooled and water is accumulated.
The exhaust connecting pipe 13 is formed in a cylindrical shape in cross section, and one end of the exhaust connecting pipe 13 is provided in a side end portion (side plate 15) of the exhaust silencer 11 so as to communicate with the inside of the silencer chamber 16. A flange 13a is provided at the opposite end. The flange 13 a is joined to the exhaust outlet side end of the supercharger 28 with a bolt so that the exhaust gas that has passed through the supercharger 28 enters the muffler chamber 16.
The outer cover 12 has a double structure of an inner wall 21 and an outer wall 22, and between the inner wall 21 and the outer wall 22 is filled with a sound absorbing material 23 that also serves as a heat insulating material formed of a glass mat or the like. . As shown in FIG. 3, the outer wall 22 of the outer cover 12 includes U-shaped cover members 24 a and 24 b that are U-shaped in cross section. Further, as shown in FIG. 5, the inner wall is made up of cover members 25a and 25b that are slightly smaller than the U-shaped cover members constituting the outer wall, and the exhaust noise is absorbed by the cover members 25a and 25b. A large number of sound absorbing holes 26, 26, 26... Are provided so as to be easily absorbed.
Conventionally, the cover member is often formed by bending a single steel plate, and is limited to a specific shape such as a circular shape in cross section as shown in FIG. However, if the shape is limited, an exhaust silencer having a different configuration must be attached when the output or cylinder length is changed to a different specification using substantially the same member, which increases the number of parts. In addition, the space that can actually be secured as the exhaust path cannot be used effectively, resulting in waste, and a sufficient sound deadening volume may not be secured.
Accordingly, two cover members 24a and 24b each having a substantially U-shaped cross-sectional view in which a steel plate is bent are used and engaged by disposing the open sides facing each other, thereby creating an oval outer cover. The cover members 25a and 25b are configured in substantially the same manner.
Moreover, it is also possible to comprise the cover members 24a and 24b having a U-shaped cross-sectional view with two members having the same shape. As a result, it is possible to easily assemble the cover members 24a and 24b from the same mold by simply arranging the open sides facing each other and fixing them, thereby simplifying the process and reducing costs.
As shown in FIG. 3, in the substantially U-shaped cover members 24a and 24b, which are constituent elements of the outer wall 22 of the outer cover 12, joint portions 31a and 31b are formed at the respective open side ends. . One joint portion 31a is formed in a hook shape (crank shape) in cross section, and the other joint portion 31b is formed in a straight line shape in cross section. Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the joint portions 32a and 32b of the cover members 25a and 25b, which are constituent elements of the inner wall 21, are also configured in a straight line shape in cross section, and in the other direction in a hook shape in cross section. Yes. By making the height of the step portion of the hook-shaped joint portion 31a (32a) substantially equal to the plate thickness of the outer cover 12, the outer surface of the linear joint portion 31b (32b) and the hook-shaped joint portion. By confronting and fixing the inner surface of 31a (32a), the unevenness of the inner surface of the seam can be reduced. Moreover, since the positioning in the case of performing the work of fixing by welding, screwing or the like is facilitated, the work efficiency is also improved.
Further, the capacity of the exhaust silencer 11 can be easily increased only by disposing the pair of extension members 27 between the cover members 24a and 24b disposed to face each other. That is, as shown in FIG. 5, the extension member 27 is formed in a plate shape having the same left and right length as the cover members 24a and 24b so that the vertical height can be selected according to the increased capacity. Then, the joint portions 33a and 33b are formed in the upper and lower portions, and one of the joint portions 33a is formed in a hook shape (crank shape) in the same shape as the joint portion 31a, and the other joint portion 33b The same shape as that of the joint portion 31b is formed in a straight line shape in cross section.
With this configuration, the two plate-like extension members 27 and 27 are disposed between the two substantially U-shaped cover members 24 a and 24 b in cross-section, and the joint portions 33 a and 33 b are fixed. This makes it possible to create an outer cover with a desired capacity increased. That is, by attaching plate-like extension members 27 and 27 to cover members 24a and 24b having a substantially U-shape in cross-section, a cross-sectional shape in which both ends are semicircular and the long side is straight as shown in FIG. It is possible to create the exhaust silencer 11 provided, and even when only an elongated space can be secured for the exhaust silencer, it is possible to arrange the exhaust silencer 11 having a large silencing volume.
