【課題】 ヒーターによる熱可塑性樹脂製継手の受口部の加熱溶融温度を簡単に目視確認できる熱可塑性合成樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合方法を提供する。
【解決手段】 熱可塑性樹脂製の管1の端部1aと、それと同じ熱可塑性樹脂製の継手2の受口部3とをヒーター4で加熱溶融した後、前記ヒーター4を取り除き、前記加熱溶融された管1の端部1aを受口部3内の挿入して融着一体化するに際し、前記加熱溶融に先立って、前記受口部3に該受口部の加熱溶融温度により変色する可逆性または非可逆性の示温材5を備える。

Description
本発明は、ポリブテンやポリエチレン等熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合方法に係り、より詳しくは加熱温度管理を容易にした熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合方法に関する。
従来、熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手(ヒートフュージョン継手)の熱融着接合方法として、図2(a)(b)に示すように熱可塑性樹脂製管10の端部10aの外面と、熱可塑性樹脂製継手11の受口部12の内面を専用のヒーター13を用いて加熱溶融させた後、ヒーター13を取り除き、同図(c)のように加熱溶融された熱可塑性樹脂製管10の端部10aを熱可塑性樹脂製継手11の受口部12に挿入圧着して接続する接合方法がある。
しかるに、上記熱融着接合方法では、使用前にヒーター13の加熱用ヒーターフェース温度を確認することになっているがこれを怠ったり、また、ヒーター13がこれのヒーターフェースに付着している汚れや油分が除去清掃されないまま使用されて熱可塑性樹脂製管10の端部10aや熱可塑性樹脂製継手11の受口部12の内面が十分に加熱溶融されなかったりすることがあり、しかも、ヒーター13により、果たして熱可塑性樹脂製管10や熱可塑性樹脂製継手11が所定の温度にまで上昇したか否かを簡単に確認できる手段が無かったため、両者の熱融着接合不足が生じることがあった。
本発明は、このような問題を解決するためになされたものであり、その目的とするところは、上記のような、ヒーターを用いての熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合方法において、ヒーターの加熱温度を簡単に目視確認でき、延いては管と継手の加熱溶融温度分布を簡単に確認できる熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合方法を提供することにある。
本発明は、熱可塑性樹脂製管の端部の外周面と、それと同じ熱可塑性樹脂製継手の受口部の内周面とをヒーターで加熱溶融した後、前記ヒーターを取り除いて、前記加熱溶融された管の端部を前記受口部内に挿入して融着一体化するに際し、前記加熱溶融するに先立ち、前記受口部に該受口部の加熱溶融温度により変色する可逆性または非可逆性の示温材を備えることに特徴を有するものである。
この場合において、前記示温材としては、前記受口部の開口端面に重合されるリング部と、このリング部の内周から一側方へ一体に突設されて前記受口部の開口端の内周に嵌め込まれる短筒状ボスとを有するリング状に形成されたものを使用することができる。
本発明によれば、熱可塑性樹脂製継手の受口部に該受口部の加熱溶融温度により変色する可逆性または非可逆性の示温材を備えることにより、ヒーターで熱可塑性樹脂製管の端部の外周面と、それと同じ熱可塑性樹脂製の継手の受口部の内周面とを加熱溶融する時に、ヒーターの加熱温度は該ヒーターと接触する示温材の色に反映されるため、その示温材の変色状態を目視確認することにより、ヒーターの加熱温度を容易に把握でき、延いては管の端部および受口部の内周面の温度が所定の加熱溶融温度までに到達したか否かを容易に把握できる。
すなわち、可逆性示温材または非可逆性示温材のいずれにおいても、ヒーターの加熱温度が所定の温度以上である場合に変色して、管の端部および受口部の内周面が所定の加熱温度で加熱溶融されることを表示する。この場合、可逆性示温材は、変色温度以下になれば原色に戻るため、ヒーターの加熱温度を即時的に表示する機能を有する。これに対して、非可逆性示温材は、変色温度より低くなっても色は変わらず、変色状態を維持するため、ヒーターの加熱温度がその変色温度以上になった経歴を表示する機能を有する。そして、このように、ヒーターの加熱温度を示温材の変色で確認できるため、ヒーターの加熱温度不足、延いては熱可塑性樹脂製管と熱可塑性樹脂製継手の熱融着接合不足の問題を解消することができる。
本発明の好適な実施形態を図面に基づき説明する。図1は本発明の方法による熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合工程図であって、(a)は管と継手を加熱溶融する前の工程を、(b)は管と継手の加熱溶融工程を、(c)は管と継手の熱融着接合工程をそれぞれ示している。
本発明による熱可塑性樹脂製管とそれと同じ熱可塑性樹脂製の継手の熱融着接合方法を工程順に説明する。
先ず、図1(b)に示すように、ポリブテンやポリエチレン等のポリオレフィン系の樹脂、あるいはその他の熱可塑性樹脂製の管1の端部1aの外周面と、それと同じ熱可塑性樹脂製の継手2の受口部3の内周面とをヒーター4を用いて加熱溶融するが、この加熱溶融に先立ち、同図(a)に示すように管1、継手2の加熱溶融温度により変色する可逆性または非可逆性の示温材5を継手2の受口部3に備える。示温材5としては、所定温度以上に加熱されると熱分解等の化学反応を起こして変色する示温顔料を含有するリング部5aと、このリング部5aの内周から一側方へ一体に突設された短筒状ボス5bとを有するリング状に形成されたものを使用し、そのリング部5aを受口部3の開口端面3aに重合させるとともに、筒状ボス5bを受口部3の開口端の内周3bに嵌め込む。この示温材5は、管1および継手2がポリブテンである場合、ヒーターフェース温度;280±10°Cで変色するものを使用する。
しかる後、同図(b)に示すように、継手2の受口部3と管1の端部1aをヒーター4のヒーターフェース4a,4bに同時に真っ直ぐに挿入し、この状態を数秒間保持して管1の端部1aの外周面と継手2の受口部3の内周面を加熱溶融する。このとき、示温材5がヒーターフェース4aに接触して変色し、この変色状態を目視確認することにより、ヒーター4の加熱温度を容易に確認できる。したがって、加熱溶融不足を予防できる。
次いで、管1の端部1aと継手2の受口部3からヒーター4を取り除いた後、直ぐに同図(c)のように管1の端部1aを継手2の受口部3に挿入し圧着して接合する。これにより管1の端部1aと継手2の受口部3とを熱融着接合することができる。
上記実施例のように示温材5として、リング部5aと短筒状ボス5bを有するリング状に形成されたものを使用すれば、筒状ボス5bを受口部3の開口端の内周3bに嵌め込むだけで簡易迅速に受口部3に備えることができるが、その他に、示温材5を受口部3に備える手段としては示温塗料を受口部3の開口端面3a及び開口端の内周3bに塗布するものであってもよい。

Claims (2)
- 熱可塑性樹脂製管の端部の外周面と、それと同じ熱可塑性樹脂製継手の受口部の内周面とをヒーターで加熱溶融した後、前記ヒーターを取り除いて、前記加熱溶融された管の端部を前記受口部内に挿入して融着一体化するに際し、前記加熱溶融するに先立ち、前記受口部に該受口部の加熱溶融温度により変色する可逆性または非可逆性の示温材を備えることを特徴とする、熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合方法。
- 前記示温材が、前記受口部の開口端面に重合されるリング部と、このリング部の内周から一側方へ一体に突設されて前記受口部の開口端の内周に嵌め込まれる短筒状ボスとを有するリング状に形成されている、請求項1記載の熱可塑性樹脂製の管と継手の熱融着接合方法。
