Abstract
Description
本出願は、2003年3月11日付で出願された米国仮特許出願第60/453,663号および米国仮特許出願第60/453,765号の優先権を主張するものである。
本発明の原理に従えば、受信器は、複数のチャンネルの放送信号を受信する入力端子と、第1のチャンネルからの放送信号に対応する第1のベースバンド・ビデオ信号を供給する第1の出力端子と、第2のチャンネルからの放送信号に対応するネットワーク・パケットを供給する第2の出力端子とを備え、第2の出力端子に結合されたネットワークにネットワーク・パケットが転送される。
Claims (22)
- 複数のチャンネルの放送信号を受信する入力端子と、
第1のチャンネルからの放送信号に対応する第1のベースバンド・ビデオ信号を供給する第1の出力端子と、
第2のチャンネルからの放送信号に対応するネットワーク・パケットを供給する第2の出力端子とを備え、前記第2の出力端子に結合されたネットワークに前記ネットワーク・パケットが転送される受信器。 - 第1のチャンネルおよび第2のチャンネルに合わせ、当該第1のチャンネルおよび第2のチャンネルから前記第1および第2の放送信号の各々を復調するチューナー手段と、
第1の復調された信号を処理し、第1のベースバンド・ビデオ信号を生成する手段と、
第2の復調された信号を処理し、前記ネットワーク・パケットを生成する手段とを備える、請求項1に記載の受信器。 - 第1のネットワーク・クライアントが前記ネットワーク・パケットを受信するために前記ネットワークに結合されている、請求項2に記載の受信器。
- 前記ネットワーク・パケットを生成する手段が、前記第1のネットワーク・クライアントに自動的にネットワーク・アドレスを割り当てるダイナミック・ホスト・コンフィギュレーション・プロトコル(DHCP)・サーバーとして機能する、請求項3に記載の受信器。
- 前記第1のネットワーク・クライアントが予め割り当てられたネットワーク・アドレスであり、前記ネットワーク・パケットを生成する手段がデバイス・ディスカバリー・プロトコルを用いて前記ネットワーク・クライアントの前記ネットワーク・アドレスをディスカバーする、請求項3に記載の受信器。
- 第2のネットワーク・クライアントが前記ネットワークに結合され、異なるネットワーク・アドレスを有する、請求項3に記載の受信器。
- 前記ネットワーク・パケットがマルチキャスト・パケットであり、前記第1および第2のネットワーク・クライアントの双方が前記ネットワーク・パケットを受信する、請求項6に記載の受信器。
- 前記ネットワーク・パケットがユニキャスト・パケットである、請求項6に記載の受信器。
- 前記第1のネットワーク・クライアントに関連付けられたネットワーク・アドレスとしてのディスティネーション・アドレスを有する、請求項8に記載の受信器。
- 前記第1および第2のネットワーク・クライアントが、前記ネットワークに結合されたネットワーク・インターフェース・モジュールを有するコンピュータである、請求項6に記載の受信器。
- 前記ネットワークがTCP/UDP/IPプロトコルを使用する、請求項1に記載の受信器。
- 前記ネットワークが無線ネットワークである、請求項11に記載の受信器。
- さらに、第3のチャンネルの第3の放送信号に対応する第1のアナログ・ビデオ信号を供給する第3の出力端子を備え、前記第1のアナログ・ビデオ信号が前記第3の出力端子に結合された転送媒体において転送可能な第1の周波数バンドを有する、請求項2に記載の受信器。
- さらに、前記チューナー手段は、前記第3のチャンネルに合わせ、前記第3のチャンネルからの前記第3の放送信号を受信し、前記第3の放送信号からの第3の復調されたビデオ信号を生成する、請求項13に記載の受信器。
- 前記第3の復調されたビデオ信号を処理し、前記第1のアナログ・ビデオ信号を生成する手段を含む、請求項14に記載の受信器。
- さらに、前記チューナー手段は、第4のチャンネルに合わせ、前記第4のチャンネルからの第4の放送信号を受信し、前記第4の放送信号からの第4の復調されたビデオ信号を生成する、請求項13に記載の受信器。
- 前記第4の復調されたビデオ信号を処理し、前記転送媒体を用いて転送するために、前記第1の周波数バンドとは異なる第2の周波数バンドを有する第2のアナログ・ビデオ信号を生成する手段を備える、請求項16に記載の受信器。
- 前記第1および第2の周波数バンドが1GHz未満である、請求項17に記載の受信器。
- 前記転送媒体がRG‐59ケーブルを含む、請求項18に記載の受信器。
- 前記チューナー手段は、各遠隔制御装置からの遠隔信号に応じて前記4つのチャンネルに合わせる、請求項17に記載の受信器。
- 前記復調された各信号を解読する限定受信モジュールを備える、請求項2に記載の受信器。
- コール・バック・リンクを供給するモデムをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の受信器。
