Abstract
Description
本出願は、2002年3月1日に出願された「Conductive Coupler With Three Degrees of Freedom」と題する特許出願第60/361,631号;2002年3月1日に出願された「Automatic and Adaptive Power Supply」と題する特許出願第60/361,626号;及び2002年3月1日に出願された「Wireless Adaptive Power Provisioning System for Small Devices」と題するプロビジョナル特許出願第60/361,602号の利益をここに請求するものである。
(b)ベースユニットのコンタクトB2がアダプタユニットのコンタクトA2に接触する。
(c)ベースユニット及びアダプタユニットの電気的コンタクトは、電気的コンタクトB1とB2との間に短絡を形成しない。
あるケースでは、アダプタユニット118は、ノートブックコンピュータと一体的に形成されてもよいし、或いは他のケースでは、特にバッテリユニット又はバッテリユニットのエンクロージャーと一体化されてもよく、従って、特殊なケーブル又はアタッチメントを必要とする。
Claims (20)
- アダプタ装置のアダプタ表面と物理的に接触する形状及び大きさにされた一般的にフラットなコンタクタ表面を画成するコンタクタ本体を含むコンタクタ装置と、
前記コンタクタ本体上で前記コンタクタ表面又はその付近に設けられた複数の電気的コンタクトと、
を備え、前記電気的コンタクトの数、形状、大きさ及び空間的構成は、前記電気的コンタクトの少なくとも2つを前記アダプタ装置の対応する電気的コンタクトに電気的に接続して前記コンタクタ装置と前記アダプタ装置との間の電気的回路を閉じるのを許すもので、前記アダプタ装置のアダプタ表面が前記コンタクタ本体のコンタクタ表面と物理的に接触状態にされるときに、前記アダプタ装置及び前記コンタクタ装置の電気的コンタクトを整列する必要がないようにした電気的結合装置。 - 前記コンタクタ本体を伴う前記電気的コンタクトは、通常、非付勢状態にされる請求項1に記載の電気的結合装置。
- 回路を完成するために付勢すべきコンタクタ本体の電気的コンタクト対を選択する感知回路と、該感知回路からの入力に基づいて前記選択された対を付勢するコントローラとを含む制御メカニズムを更に備えた請求項2に記載の電気的結合装置。
- 前記感知回路は、付勢すべき多数の電気的コンタクト対を選択し、そして前記コントローラは、各々の選択された対を付勢する請求項3に記載の電気的結合装置。
- 前記コンタクタ本体はフラットなマットを画成する請求項1に記載の電気的結合装置。
- 前記コンタクタ本体は、家具調度品に一体化される請求項5に記載の電気的結合装置。
- 前記電気的コンタクトにより前記アダプタ装置に送信されるデータ信号を変調するための変調回路を更に備えた請求項1に記載の電気的結合装置。
- 複数の電気的コンタクトに接続可能な感知構成体であって、前記複数の電気的コンタクトのうちの一対を橋絡する電気的負荷のパラメータを感知する感知構成体と、
電源に接続可能な制御メカニズムであって、前記電気的負荷の感知されたパラメータに基づき前記一対の電気的コンタクトを前記電源で選択的に付勢させる制御メカニズムと、
を備えた電力支給システム。 - 前記感知構成体は、多数の電気的負荷のパラメータを感知し、該多数の電気的負荷の各電気的負荷は、前記複数の電気的コンタクトの異なる対を橋絡し、そして前記制御メカニズムは、前記電気的負荷の感知されたパラメータに基づいて電気的負荷により橋絡された各電気的コンタクト対を前記電源で選択的に付勢させる請求項8に記載の電力支給システム。
- 前記感知構成体により感知される電気的負荷のパラメータは、前記電気的負荷を付勢するに必要な複数の電圧及びその大きさと、前記電気的負荷に関連した識別、製品形式及び製造者とで構成されたグループから選択される請求項9に記載の電力支給システム。
- 前記感知構成体は、非破壊感知信号を前記電気的負荷に送信し、そして前記感知信号に対する応答に基づいて前記電気的負荷のパラメータを決定する請求項10に記載の電力支給システム。
- 前記電気的コンタクト対の選択的付勢は、認証及び適合性チェックを実行し、そして前記電気的負荷が認証されると共に前記電源が前記電気的負荷に適合する電力を供給できる場合に前記電気的コンタクト対だけを付勢することを含む請求項11に記載の電力支給システム。
- 一般的にフラットなコンタクタ表面を画成するコンタクタ本体と、
一般的にフラットなアダプタ表面を画成するアダプタ本体と、
前記コンタクタ本体上で前記コンタクタ表面又はその付近に設けられた第1の電気的コンタクトと、
前記アダプタ本体上で前記アダプタ表面又はその付近に設けられた第2の電気的コンタクトと、
前記第2の電気的コンタクトを移動装置に接続するインターフェイスと、
を備え、前記第1の電気的コンタクトの数、形状、大きさ及び空間的構成は、前記第1の電気的コンタクトの少なくとも2つを前記第2の電気的コンタクトの対に電気的に接続するのを許すもので、前記アダプタ表面が前記コンタクタ表面と物理的に接触状態にされるときに、前記第1及び第2の電気的コンタクトを整列する必要がないようにした電気的結合システム。 - 前記アダプタ本体は移動装置に一体化される請求項13に記載の電気的結合システム。
- 移動装置にインストールするためのメモリ装置において、
移動装置を識別する情報、移動装置を付勢するための電源の設定に関する情報、及び移動装置をコンピュータネットワークに接続するのに必要な認証情報より成るグループから選択された情報を含むハンドシェーク情報を記憶する記憶エリアを備えたメモリ装置。 - 前記記憶エリアは、前記ハンドシェーク情報を集積回路内にリードオンリデータとして記憶する請求項15に記載のメモリ装置。
- 前記記憶エリアは、前記ハンドシェーク情報をプログラムされたマイクロコードとして記憶する請求項15に記載のメモリ装置。
- チップセットであって、該チップセットへの電力を制御するための電力管理回路を備え、該電力管理回路は、移動装置を識別する情報、移動装置を付勢するための電源の設定に関する情報、及び移動装置をコンピュータネットワークに接続するのに必要な認証情報より成るグループから選択されたハンドシェーク情報を記憶するための識別ユニットを備えたチップセット。
- 前記識別ユニットは、前記ハンドシェーク情報を集積回路内にリードオンリデータとして記憶する請求項18に記載のチップセット。
- 前記識別ユニットは、前記ハンドシェーク情報をプログラムされたマイクロコードとして記憶する請求項18に記載のチップセット。
