Abstract
Description

(d)エンジン空気流れを決定する手段であって、前記制御装置に操作可能に接続された手段と、
(e)エンジン暖機の程度を示す値を測定するセンサであって、前記制御装置に操作可能に接続されたセンサと
を備え、
蒸発状態に変換されるべき液体燃料の一部は、最小の排気排出物を達成するように制御されている、

Claims (20)
- 燃料システムを制御し、燃料を内燃機関に供給する方法であって、前記燃料システムは、少なくとも1つの毛細管流路を有する少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置と、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に沿って配置された熱源とを備え、前記熱源は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路内の液体燃料を、少なくともその一部を液体状態から蒸気状態に変換するのに十分な程度に、加熱することが可能である方法において、
(a)エンジンの空気流れを決定するステップと、
(b)エンジン暖機の程度を示す値を測定するステップと、
(c)前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路によって前記蒸気状態に変換されるべき液体燃料の部分を決定するステップであって、前記ステップ(a)−(b)において測定された値を用いるステップと、
(d)前記少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置の前記熱源に供給される電力を、所定の目標温度を達成するように制御するステップであって、前記所定の目標温度は、前記ステップ(c)によって決定された前記液体燃料の部分を前記蒸気状態に変換するように操作可能であるステップと、
(e)前記燃料を前記内燃機関の燃焼室に供給するステップと
を含み、
前記蒸気状態に変換されるべき前記液体燃料の部分は、最小の排気排出物を達成するように決定されることを特徴とする、方法。 - エンジンの空気流れを決定する前記ステップは、(i)エンジン速度を測定するステップと、(ii)前記内燃機関の吸気マニフォールド圧力を測定するステップとをさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置の前記熱源に供給される電力を制御する前記ステップは、電気抵抗値を設定するステップを含み、前記電気抵抗値は、前記所定の目標温度に関係付けられることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置の前記熱源に供給される電力を制御する前記ステップは、二値電源を用いることを特徴とする、請求項1、2又は3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置の前記熱源に供給される電力を制御する前記ステップは、比例−積分−微分制御を用いることを特徴とする、請求項1、2又は3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- エンジンのクランキング中に、前記少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置の前記熱源に供給される電力は、燃料システム供給圧力と略等しい圧力における前記燃料の最終沸点以上の所定の目標温度を達成するのに十分な電気抵抗値に制御されることを特徴とする、先行する請求項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記内燃機関が冷始動のアイドリング状態にある間、前記少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置の前記熱源に供給される電力は、前記燃料の最終的沸点よりも低く、かつ前記燃料が前記噴射装置のオリフィスを出るときに前記燃料の瞬間的な蒸発を達成するのに十分な所定の目標温度を達成するのに十分な電気抵抗値に制御されることを特徴とする、請求項1、2、3、4又は5のいずれか1項

- 前記ステップ(b)において測定されたエンジン暖機の程度を示す前記値は、エンジン冷媒の温度、エンジン潤滑剤の温度、大気温度、及びエンジン始動からの経過時間からなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、先行する請求項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路を周期的に清浄化するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする、先行する請求項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記周期的な清浄化は、(i)前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の加熱を停止するステップと、(ii)溶媒を前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に供給するステップとを含み、これによって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路において形成された沈殿物が実質的に除去され、前記溶媒は液体燃料を含むことを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1つの燃料噴射装置は、前記内燃機関への燃料を定量供給するための弁を備え、前記弁は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の出口端に近接して配置されることを特徴とする、先行する請求項のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 内燃機関に用いられる燃料システムにおいて、
(a)複数の燃料噴射装置であって、各噴射装置は、(i)少なくとも1つの毛細管流路であって、入口端と出口端とを有する毛細管流路と、(ii)前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路に沿って配置された熱源であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路内の液体燃料を少なくともその一部を液体状態から蒸気状態に変換させるのに十分な程度に加熱するように操作可能である熱源と、(iii)前記内燃機関への燃料を定量供給するための弁であって、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口端に近接して配置される弁とを備える燃料噴射装置と、
(b)前記複数の燃料噴射装置と流体連通する液体燃料供給システムと、
(c)前記複数の燃料噴射装置の各々の前記熱源に供給される電力を、所定の目標温度を達成するように制御する制御装置であって、前記所定の目標温度は、前記液体燃料の一部を前記蒸発状態に変換するように操作可能である制御装置と、
(d)エンジン空気流れを決定する手段であって、前記制御装置に操作可能に接続された手段と、
(e)エンジン暖機の程度を示す値を測定するセンサであって、前記制御装置に操作可能に接続されたセンサと
を備え、
前記蒸発状態に変換されるべき前記液体燃料の一部は、最小の排気排出物を達成するように制御されていることを特徴とする、燃料システム。 - 前記燃料噴射装置の各々の前記熱源に供給される電力は、電気抵抗値を設定することによって制御され、前記電気抵抗値は、前記所定の目標温度に関連付けられていることを特徴とする、請求項14に記載の燃料システム。
- 前記熱源に供給される電力を制御する前記制御装置は、二値電源であることを特徴とする、先行する請求項のいずれか1項に記載の燃料システム。
- 前記熱源に供給される電力を制御する前記制御装置は、比例−積分−微分制御装置であることを特徴とする、請求項14又は15に記載の燃料システム。
- 前記内燃機関のクランキング中に、前記燃料噴射装置の各々の前記熱源に供給される電力は、大気圧の約4倍の圧力において前記燃料の最終沸点以上の所定の目標温度を達成するのに十分な電気抵抗値に制御されていることを特徴とする、先行する請求項のいずれか1項に記載の燃料システム。
- 前記内燃機関が冷始動のアイドリング状態にある間、前記燃料噴射装置の各々の前記熱源に供給される電力は、前記燃料の最終沸点よりも低く、かつ前記燃料が前記噴射装置のオリフィスを出るときに前記燃料の瞬間的な蒸発を達成するのに十分な所定の目標温度を達成するのに十分な電気抵抗値に制御されていることを特徴とする、請求項14、15、16、又は17のいずれか1項に記載の燃料システム。
- 前記液体燃料噴射装置は、前記少なくとも1つの毛細管流路の前記出口に近接する燃料噴射ノズルをさらに備えていることを特徴とする、先行する請求項のいずれか1項に記載の燃料システム。
