Claims (20)
- 電圧駆動フレキシブルディスプレイにおけるルミネセンスおよび/または色の変化を補正する装置であって、前記変化は前記フレキシブルディスプレイの屈曲と関連し、前記装置は、
フレキシブルディスプレイの少なくとも一部でのセルギャップを測定する測定手段と、
測定されたセルギャップに応じて、前記フレキシブルディスプレイの前記一部に印加される電圧を調節する調節手段とを備え、
前記測定手段はセルギャップを繰り返し測定するように設定され、前記調節手段は、測定されたセルギャップに応じて印加電圧を繰り返し調節するように設定されることを特徴とする、装置。 - 測定の反復の周波数および調節の反復の周波数は一定であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 測定の反復の周波数および調節の反復の周波数の少なくとも一方は、ユーザ設定、動作条件または両方の関数として制御されることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の装置。
- 前記調節手段は、セルギャップの変化が検出された時にのみ実行されることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 前記調節手段は、ある閾値以上のセルギャップの変化が検出された時にのみ実行されることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記フレキシブルディスプレイは1つの方向のみに柔軟性があり、前記測定手段は可撓性の軸に沿って分布していることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 前記フレキシブルディスプレイは2つの方向に可撓性があり、前記測定手段は前記フレキシブルディスプレイ全体に渡って分布していることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 少なくとも1つの測定手段が少なくとも1つのリソグラフィックスペーサ内に配置されていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至7のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 前記測定手段の数および配列は、前記ディスプレイの可撓性を考慮して最適化されていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至8のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 前記測定手段は少なくとも1つの圧電性結晶を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至9のいずれかに記載の装置。
- 請求項1乃至10のいずれかに記載の装置を備えるフレキシブルディスプレイ。
- 前記フレキシブルディスプレイは、複数の画素と複数の導体とを備えるアクティブマトリクスディスプレイであり、前記測定手段は、関連する導体上で一定の電圧が供給された時に画素を帯電させるのに必要とされる時間を測定することによって、前記ディスプレイの一部でのセルギャップを測定するように設定されていることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載のフレキシブルディスプレイ。
- 前記フレキシブルディスプレイはパッシブマトリクスディスプレイであり、前記測定手段は、行導体に交流信号を供給し、列導体上の信号の振幅を測定し、それを関連する導体に供給される信号の振幅と比較することによってセルギャップを推定するように設定されていることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載のフレキシブルディスプレイ。
- 請求項11乃至13のいずれかに記載のフレキシブルディスプレイを備える携帯装置。
- 前記携帯装置は、電子ペーパー、パーソナルデジタルアシスタント(PDA)、携帯電話、装着型電子機器のセット、携帯用コンピュータ、電子カレンダー、電子ブック、テレビジョンまたはビデオゲームコントロールのいずれかであることを特徴とする、請求項14に記載の携帯装置。
- 電圧駆動フレキシブルディスプレイにおけるルミネセンスおよび/または色の変化を補正する方法であって、前記変化は前記フレキシブルディスプレイの屈曲と関連し、前記方法は、
フレキシブルディスプレイの少なくとも一部でのセルギャップを測定するステップと、
測定されたセルギャップに応じて、フレキシブルディスプレイの前記一部に印加される電圧を調節するステップとを含み、
これらのステップは前記フレキシブルディスプレイの動作中に繰り返し行われることを特徴とする、方法。 - 測定および調節の反復の周波数は一定であることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 測定の反復の周波数および調節の反復の周波数の少なくとも一方は、ユーザ設定、動作条件または両方の関数として制御されることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記調節ステップは、セルギャップの変化が検出された時にのみ実行されることを特徴とする、請求項16乃至18のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記調節ステップは、ある閾値以上のセルギャップの変化が検出された時にのみ実行されることを特徴とする、請求項19に記載の方法。
