The lubricating composition of the present invention may comprise one or more Group V ester base feedstocks. Suitably, the lubricating composition comprises less than 25 wt.%, Preferably less than 10 wt.%, More preferably 5 wt.% Or less of the ester base stock based on the total weight of the composition. Suitably, the lubricating oil composition of the present invention comprises at least 1% by weight, preferably at least 1.5% by weight, more preferably at least 3% by weight of an ester base stock.
It should be noted that any of the above base stocks may be provided to the composition as a separate component for blending. Also, any or all of the base stock may be provided to the composition as a diluent for another component of the lubricating oil composition.
Friction modifiers lubricating oil composition be substantially free of less than 0.1 wt%, preferably less than 0.05 wt% (e.g., 0 to 0.4 wt%) or less than 0.04 wt%, preferably less than 0.01 wt% It should be noted that it is defined herein to mean including, for example, 0-0.0075 wt%, most preferably no (0 wt%) friction modifier.
