複数の放電セルでスキャンされるラインを第1ライングループ及び第2ライングループに分割し、
前記第1サブフィールドグループのうちの第1加重値を有する第1サブフィールド、及び前記第1加重値より大きく、隣接した加重値である第2加重値を有する第2サブフィールドは、
(a)前記複数の放電セルをリセットする段階;
(b)前記第1ラインのグループに対応する放電セルをアドレシングした後、第1維持放電を発生させる段階;及び
(c)前記第2ラインのグループに対応する放電セルをアドレシングした後、第2維持放電を発生させる段階;を含み、
前記第2サブフィールドグループのうちの第3加重値を有する第3サブフィールド、及び前記第3加重値より大きく、隣接した加重値である第4加重値を有する第4サブフィールドは、
(d)前記複数の放電セルをリセットする段階;
(e)前記第2ラインのグループに対応する放電セルをアドレシングした後、第3維持放電を発生させる段階;及び
