Abstract
【解決手段】 現像装置1に備えられた現像ローラ20と感光体ドラム100とは、互いに近接、または接触する位置関係にあり、磁界により現像ローラ20表面に吸着されたトナーを感光体ドラム100に移動して静電潜像を現像する。現像ローラ20はその表面に現像スリーブ30を備える。現像スリーブ30の基体31表面には無電解ニッケルメッキ層32が形成されている。さらに、そのニッケルメッキ層32の表面にはニッケル酸化被膜33が形成されている。ニッケル酸化被膜33は、現像スリーブ30表面を不動態化することにより、ニッケルメッキ処理に起因してトナー電荷が逃げ易い状態にあるのを抑制し、トナー電荷の保持特性を好適な状態に維持することができる。

Claims (6)
- 現像スリーブの基体表面にニッケルメッキ層を形成し、このニッケルメッキ層の表面にニッケル酸化被膜を形成したことを特徴とする現像ローラ。
- 前記現像スリーブの基体は、アルミニウム系金属材料で構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の現像ローラ。
- 現像スリーブの基体表面にニッケルメッキ層を備えた現像ローラを製造するに際し、前記現像スリーブの前記ニッケルメッキ層の表面にニッケル酸化被膜を形成することを特徴とする現像ローラの製造方法。
- 前記ニッケル酸化被膜の形成は、酸化処理を複数回繰り返すことにより遂行されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の現像ローラの製造方法。
- 前記ニッケル酸化被膜の形成は、弱酸を用いて酸化処理を施した後に、強酸を用いて酸化処理を施すことにより遂行されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の現像ローラの製造方法。
- 前記ニッケル酸化被膜の形成は、基体表面にニッケルメッキ層を備えた前記現像スリーブを酸の水溶液中に浸漬することにより遂行されることを特徴とする請求項3〜請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の現像ローラの製造方法。
