Abstract

Claims (5)
- 内燃機関用のピストンであって、
環状内縁を有する面を有するピストンクラウンと、
ピストンクラウンの面内で窪み、また底面と外壁とを有する第1のピストンボウルであって、面の環状内縁から延在し、かつ外壁に対して接線であるラインが、ピストンクラウンの面と共に、90度よりも大きな内角(θ)を形成する第1のピストンボウルと、
第1のピストンボウルの底面内で窪んだ第2のピストンボウルと
を備えるピストン。 - 環状内縁が丸くされ、かつ、ピストンクラウンの面と第1のピストンボウルとを接合する請求項1に記載のピストン。
- 第1および第2のピストンボウルの最大径の間で半径方向に配置された内側の環状冷却通路をさらに含む請求項1に記載のピストン。
- 少なくとも1つのシリンダと、少なくとも1つのシリンダ内に摺動可能に配置されたピストンとを有する内燃機関を操作する方法であって、
圧縮行程中に上死点位置に向かってピストンを移動させるステップと、
ピストンの面内で窪んだ第1のピストンボウル内に燃料を噴射するステップであって、第1のピストンボウルが底面と環状外壁とを有し、ピストンの面の環状内縁から延在し、かつ環状外壁に対して接線であるラインが、ピストンの面と共に、90度よりも大きな内角(θ)を形成するステップと、
第1のピストンボウルの底面内で窪んだ第2のピストンボウル内に燃料を噴射するステップと
を含む方法。 - 内燃機関であって、
複数のシリンダを画成するエンジンブロックと、
複数のシリンダのそれぞれの中に配置されたピストンクラウンであって、
面と、
ピストンクラウンの面内で窪み、また底面と外壁とを有する第1のピストンボウルであって、面の環状内縁から延在し、かつ外壁に対して接線であるラインが、ピストンクラウンの面と共に、90度よりも大きな内角(θ)を形成する第1のピストンボウルと、
第1のピストンボウルの底面内で窪んだ第2のピストンボウルと、
を有するピストンクラウンと
を備える内燃機関。
