Abstract
【解決手段】無線ローカルエリアネットワークは、一つのアクセスポイントと、アクセスポイントに関連付けされた複数の遠隔端末とを含む。アクセスポイントは、優先ネットワークに作動可能に接続でき、パケットの公平な分配を保って、他の通信よりも音声通信に対して高い優先順位を与えるようにトラヒックを管理できる。

Description
本発明の更なる特徴、本質、及び種々の利点は、添付図面を参照して以下の詳細な説明から一層明らかになるであろう。添付図面全体にわたって、同じ参照番号は同じ部分を言及している。
IEEE802.11規格は、通信パケットの形式及び内容を定義する。フレームとも呼ばれる通信パケットは、各々のパケットサイズがパケットヘッダー情報でもって識別される可変サイズであってもよい。特定の実施形態において、各々のパケット本体は0から2312オクテットまで可変であってもよい。
図3b(及び他の図面)の例示的なパケットは、可変サイズパケットである。図を簡略化するために、パケットは固定長パケットとして示されている。
前述の説明は単に本発明の原理を例示したものであって、当業者であれば本発明の範囲と精神から逸脱することなく種々の変更を行うことができる。

Claims (44)
- 複数のパケットのそれぞれの優先順位を決定し、
前記パケットを最も高い優先順位から最も低い優先順位へ配列し、
通信媒体を介して前記パケットを無線で送信し、前記最も高い優先順位を有するパケットが前記最も低い優先順位を有するパケットの前に送信される、
段階からなる方法。 - 各パケットの前記優先順位は各パケットごとの優先情報に基づいて決定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記優先情報は各パケットの形式を含むものであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記各パケットの形式は、データパケット、音声パケット、管理パケットの一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 各パケットの前記優先順位は各パケットに割り当てられた優先順位に基づいて決定されるものであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 各パケットの前記優先順位は、該優先順位を示す別のデータへの参照に基づいて決定されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記別のデータは前記パケットのプロトコルであることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記別のデータは前記パケットの行先であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記優先情報は各パケットの長さと、各パケットのフラグうち一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記パケットは前記優先順位に基づいて送信待ち行列内に配列されるものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記送信待ち行列は複数の送信待ち行列であり、各送信待ち行列は前記パケットの優先順位の一つに対応するものであることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記送信待ち行列は複数の送信待ち行列であり、各送信待ち行列は前記パケットの行先に対応するものであることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の方法。
- 各パケットの受け取り時間に基づいて前記パケットを配列する段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- それぞれが無線で送信されるパケットを受信するための受信機を含む複数の遠隔端末と、
それぞれが、前記遠隔端末の一つの行先を有するパケットを通信媒体から受信するようになったアクセスポイントと、を備え、
前記アクセスポイントは前記パケットのそれぞれの優先順位を決定し、最も高い優先順位から最も低い優先順位に前記パケットを配列して、各パケットを前記行先遠隔端末へ無線で通信するようになっており、前記最も高い優先順位を有するパケットは前記最も低い優先順位を有するパケットよりも先に送信されるようになっていることを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記アクセスポイントは、各パケットの優先順位を決定するための少なくとも一つのプロトコル層を含むことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントは各パケットの優先情報に基づいて各パケットの前記優先順位を決定することを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記優先情報は各パケットの形式を含むことを特徴とする請求項16に記載のシステム。
- 前記各パケットの形式は、データパケット、音声パケット、及び管理パケットの一つを含むものであることを特徴とする請求項17に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントは、各パケットの割り当てられた優先順位に基づいて各パケットの前記優先順位を決定することを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントは前記優先順位を表す別のデータに対する参照に基づいて各パケットの前記優先順位を決定することを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記別のデータは前記パケットのプロトコルであることを特徴とする請求項20に記載のシステム。
- 前記別のデータは前記パケットの行先であることを特徴とする請求項20に記載のシステム。
- 前記優先情報は、各パケットの長さと各パケット内のフラグの一つを含むものであることを特徴とする請求項16に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントは送信待ち行列を含み、前記パケットは前記優先順位に基づいて前記伝送待ち行列内に配列されることを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記送信待ち行列は複数の送信待ち行列であり、各送信待ち行列は前記遠隔端末の一つに対応するようになっており、前記パケットは、各パケットの前記行先遠隔端末に対応する前記送信待ち行列内の前記優先順位に基づいて配列されるようになっていることを特徴とする請求項24に記載のシステム。
- 前記パケットは前記アクセスポイントによる各パケットの受け取り時間に基づいて配列されるものであることを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクセスポイントはさらに別のパケットを受け取り、該パケットのそれぞれの優先順位を決定し、前記別のパケットを前記最も高い優先順位から前記最も低い優先順位へ配列し、前記別のパケットの各々を前記行先遠隔端末へ無線で伝送するようになっており、最も高い優先順位を有する前記別のパケットが前記最も低い優先順位の送信されていないパケットの前に伝送されるようになっていることを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記遠隔端末の少なくとも一つが前記アクセスポイントへ付加的なパケットを無線で送信し、前記遠隔端末は前記最も高い優先順位を有する前記付加パケットから前記最も低い優先順位を有する前記付加パケットへ配列し、前記最も低い優先順位を有する付加パケット前に前記最も高い優先順位を有する前記付加パケットを送信することを特徴とする請求項14に記載のシステム。
- それぞれが遠隔端末行先を有するパケットを通信媒体から受信し、前記パケットのそれぞれの優先順位を決定し、最も高い優先順位から最も低い優先順位へ前記パケットを配列するようになっている少なくも一つのプロトコル層と、
各パケットを行先遠隔端末へ無線で送信する送信機と、を備え、前記最も優先順位の高いパケットが前記最も低い優先順位のパケット前に送信されるものであることを特徴とするアクセスポイント。 - 前記プロトコル層は、各パケットの優先情報に基づいて各パケットの前記優先レベルを決定するものであることを特徴とする請求項29に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記優先情報は、各パケットの形式を含むものであることを特徴とする請求項30に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記各パケットの形式、はデータパケット、音声パケット及び管理パケットの一つを含むものであることを特徴とする請求項31に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記プロトコル層は、各パケットの割り当てられた優先順位に基づいて各パケットの優先順位を決定するものであることを特徴とする請求項29に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記プロトコル層は、前記優先順位を表示する別のデータに対する参照に基づいて各パケットの前記優先順位を決定することを特徴とする請求項29に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記別のデータは前記パケットのプロトコルであることを特徴とする請求項34に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記別のデータは前記パケットの行先であることを特徴とする請求項34に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記優先情報は、各パケットの長さと、各パケット内のフラグの一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項30に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記パケットが前記プロトコル層によって配列される順番に前記パケットを記憶する送信待ち行列を有することを特徴とする請求項29に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記待ち行列が複数の送信待ち行列であり、各送信待ち行列は前記パケットの行先に対応するものであることを特徴とする請求項38に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記送信待ち行列は、複数の送信待ち行列であり、各送信待ち行列は前記パケットの優先順位の一つに対応するものであることを特徴とする請求項38に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記パケットは、前記アクセスポイントによる各パケットの受け取り時間に基づいて、前記プロトコル層によって配列されるものであることを特徴とする請求項29に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記プロトコル層は、さらにパケットを受信し、該さらなる別のパケットのそれぞれの優先順位を決定し、前記最も高い優先順位から前記最も低い優先順位に前記別のパケットを配列し、前記送信機は、前記別のパケットの各々を前記行先遠隔端末へ無線で送信し、前記最も優先順位の高いパケットが前記最も低い優先順位を有するまだ送信されていないパケットの前に送信されるようになっていることを特徴とする請求項29に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 前記送信機はトランシーバであることを特徴とする請求項29に記載のアクセスポイント。
- 複数のパケットのそれぞれの優先順位を決定し、
前記パケットを最も高い優先順位から最も低い優先順位へ前記パケットを配列し、
前記パケットを通信媒体を介して無線で送信する、段階からなり、
前記最も高い優先順位を有するパケットが前記最も低い優先順位を有するパケットの前に送信されるようになっている方法。
