Description
本願は、同じ譲受人に譲渡されたすでに出願済みの米国特許出願、“距離測定サイクルを用いて、無線ネットワークにおけるセキュリティの向上を図る方法および装置”(出願番号第10/156,244号、2002年5月24日出願)、並びに、“物理的位置判定を利用する無線ネットワークにおける侵入管理方法および装置”(出願番号第10/171,427号、2002年6月13日出願)に関連する。上記参考文献の米国特許出願明細書は本願明細書で参照により援用される。

Claims (30)
- 無線ローカルエリアネットワーク(LAN)内で無線装置の所在位置を決定する方法であって、
前記無線装置からの無線LAN信号を複数の所在位置検知ユニットで受信するステップと、
前記受信ステップに応じ、前記複数の所在位置検知ユニットの個々の対応するユニットにおいて前記基準になる無線LAN信号の複数の着信時刻を決定するステップと、
前記対応する複数の所在位置検知ユニットのそれぞれからマスタユニットへ前記着信時刻を送信するステップと、
前記複数の所在位置検知ユニットの所在位置情報を前記複数の着信時刻と比較することにより、前記無線装置の所在位置を前記マスタユニットで決定する無線装置の位置決定ステップとを備えた方法。 - 前記マスタユニットは、前記複数の所在位置検知ユニットのうちの1つであるものとし、前記マスタユニットで定められた前記着信時刻については、前記着信時刻の送信ステップが実行されない請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記所在位置検知ユニットの各ユニット内のタイマの同期をとるものとし、前記複数の着信時刻間の正確な時間関係を保持するステップを備えた請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記所在位置検知ユニットのそれぞれは、有線ネットワークを介して前記マスタユニットに接続されるものとし、前記着信時刻の送信ステップが前記有線ネットワークを介して実行される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記送信ステップは、前記無線ネットワークを介して実行される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 送信要求信号を前記無線装置へ送信するステップを備え、前記受信ステップが、前記送信要求信号に応答して送出されたクリア・トゥ・センドを前記無線装置から受信する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記受信ステップは、
整合フィルタを用いて前記受信信号のフィルタリングを行うステップと、
前記整合フィルタの直角位相シンボル検出出力のサンプリングおよび記憶を行うステップを備え、
前記サンプリングおよび記憶ステップの次に、前記受信信号の前記着信時刻の推定値の計算を行うステップをさらに備えた方法。 - 前記計算ステップは、スペクトル拡散シーケンスと相関する前記受信信号レベルの最大二乗平均プロファイルに従って、前記着信時刻の前記推定値を計算する請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記計算ステップは、所定のメッセージシーケンスと共に畳み込まれた前記受信信号の最大二乗平均プロファイルに従って、前記着信時刻の前記推定値をさらに計算する請求項7に記載の方法。
- 無線ローカルエリアネットワーク(LAN)であって、
前記無線LAN内で無線装置により送信された無線LAN信号を受信し、前記受信信号の着信時刻を決定する複数の所在位置検知ユニットと、
前記所在位置検知ユニットのそれぞれから前記着信時刻を受信する少なくとも1つのマスタユニットを備え、前記着信時刻に従って前記無線装置の前記所在位置が決定される無線ローカルエリアネットワーク(LAN)。 - 前記マスタユニットは、前記複数の所在位置検知ユニットのうちの1つのユニットである請求項10に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 前記所在位置検知ユニットのそれぞれは、前記所在位置検知ユニット間の前記着信時刻の精度を維持するタイムベースを備えた請求項10に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 前記マスタユニットは、前記所在位置検知ユニットへ同期メッセージを送信することにより、前記所在位置検知ユニットのそれぞれで前記タイムベースをさらに同期させる請求項12に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 前記所在位置検知ユニットのそれぞれは、有線ネットワークを介して前記マスタユニットと接続されるものとし、前記着信時刻が前記有線ネットワークを介して前記所在位置検知ユニットから前記マスタユニットへ送信される請求項10に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 前記着信時刻が前記無線ネットワークを介して前記所在位置検知ユニットから前記マスタユニットへ送信される請求項10に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 前記無線装置へ送信要求信号を送信する所在位置測定開始ユニットをさらに備えるものとし、前記無線LAN信号は、前記送信要求信号に応答して前記無線装置から送信されるクリア・トゥ・センドメッセージである請求項10に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 前記測定開始ユニットは、前記所在位置検知ユニットのうちの1つである請求項16に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 前記測定開始ユニットは、前記マスタユニットである請求項16に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 請求項10に記載の無線LANであって、前記所在位置検知ユニットのそれぞれは、
前記受信信号のフィルタリングを行う整合フィルタと、
前記整合フィルタの直角位相シンボル検出出力のサンプリングと記憶とを行うサンプラおよびメモリと、
前記受信信号の前記着信時刻の推定値を前記格納されたサンプルから計算する信号プロセッサと、を含む受信装置を備えた無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。 - スペクトル拡散シーケンスと相関する前記受信信号レベルの最大二乗平均プロファイルに従って、前記信号プロセッサが前記推定値をさらに計算する請求項19に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 所定のメッセージシーケンスと共に畳み込まれた前記受信信号の最大二乗平均プロファイルに従って、前記信号プロセッサが前記着信時刻の前記推定値をさらに計算する請求項20に記載の無線ローカルエリアネットワーク。
- 所在位置検知ユニットであって、
無線ネットワーク内の無線装置から無線ローカルエリアネットワーク(LAN)信号を受信する受信装置と、
前記受信装置に接続され、前記無線装置からの前記信号の着信時刻を決定する時刻測定ユニットと、
前記着信時刻情報をマスタユニットへ送信するインタフェースを備えた所在位置検知ユニット。 - 前記受信装置が拡散スペクトラム受信装置を備え、前記時刻測定ユニットは、前記受信装置の出力信号から記憶されたサンプル値に従って前記着信時刻を決定するプロセッサを備えた請求項22に記載の所在位置検知ユニット。
- 前記プロセッサは、二乗平均推定によって推定着信時刻を計算する請求項23に記載の所在位置検知ユニット。
- 前記無線LAN信号は、前記無線装置から受信したクリア・トゥ・センド信号である請求項22に記載の所在位置検知ユニット。
- マスタユニットであって、
複数の外部に在る所在位置検知ユニットによって無線装置から受信した基準無線ローカルエリアネットワーク(LAN)信号の着信時刻を、前記複数の外部に在る所在位置検知ユニットから受信するデータインタフェースと、
前記複数の外部に在る所在位置検知ユニットの物理的位置情報を含むデータベースと、
前記データベースから検索された所在位置情報に従って前記外部の複数の所在位置検知ユニットからの前記着信時刻を比較して、無線LAN内の無線装置の所在位置を決定する計算ユニットを備えたマスタユニット。 - 前記計算ユニットは、複数対の前記所在位置検知ユニットから受信した複数対の前記着信時刻間の差分を計算し、前記差分の各々の双曲線を投影し、前記曲線が、対応する差分と関連する前記対の所在位置検知ユニットの物理的位置に焦点を有し、前記双曲線の交点に従って前記無線装置の前記所在位置を決定する請求項26に記載のマスタユニット。
- 前記マスタユニットは、送信要求信号を送出するコマンドを前記データインタフェースへ送信し、前記無線LAN信号は、前記送信要求信号に応答して前記無線装置が送信したクリア・トゥ・センド信号である請求項26に記載のマスタユニット。
- 無線LAN送信機を備え、前記無線装置へ送信要求信号を送信し、前記無線LAN信号は、前記送信要求信号に応答して前記無線装置が送信したクリア・トゥ・センド信号である請求項26に記載のマスタユニット。
- 無線LAN受信装置を備え、前記無線LAN信号を受信し、前記無線LAN信号の前記マスタユニットにおける着信時刻を測定し、前記マスタユニットにおける前記無線LAN信号の前記着信時刻をさらに比較する請求項26に記載のマスタユニット。
