Abstract
Description
本出願は、35U.S.C(米国特許法)第119項に基づいて、2002年6月7日に出願された、発明の名称が「BPDG放送フラグの使用の提案(Proposal on the Use of the BPDG Broadcast Flag)」である仮特許出願第60/387,054号の優先権を主張するものである。
本発明は、ネットワークに接続されたアクセス装置からネットワーク外の別の装置へのディジタル符号化コンテンツの配信を制御する方法を提供する。アクセス装置は、プログラム・コンテンツを表すディジタル信号を受信する。このディジタル信号は、ネットワーク外へのコンテンツの配信を許可する第1のトランスポート・モードと、ネットワーク外へのコンテンツの配信を禁止する第2のトランスポート・モードとを示す認証フィールドを有する。本発明の方法は、コンテンツをネットワーク外の各装置へ経路指定するのに使用されるネットワーク上のルータの位置情報を受信するステップと、アクセス装置がコンテンツを配信しようとする宛先装置に対応する位置情報を示す宛先データを受信するステップと、ルータの位置情報と受信宛先データとに基づいて、宛先装置がネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断するステップと、認証フィールドを調べ、宛先装置がネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断し、且つ、トランスポート・モードがネットワーク外へのコンテンツの配信を許可しているか、或いは、禁止しているかを判断して、それらの判断結果に応じてコンテンツの配信を制御するステップと、を含んでいる。
Claims (18)
- ネットワークに接続された装置に於いて、前記ネットワークを介する前記装置から別の装置へのデータの配信を制御する方法であって、
プログラム・コンテンツを表すディジタル信号であり、前記ネットワーク外への前記ディジタル信号の配信を許可する第1のトランスポート・モードと、前記ネットワーク外への前記ディジタル信号の配信を禁止する第2のトランスポート・モードとを示す認証フィールドを有する前記ディジタル信号を受信するステップと、
前記ディジタル信号が配信される宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断するステップと、
前記認証フィールドが前記第1と第2のトランスポート・モードのどちらを示しているかを判断するステップと、
前記認証フィールドが前記第2のトランスポート・モードを示しており、且つ、前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在ることが判断されると、前記ディジタル信号の送信を禁止し、その他の場合が判断されると、前記ディジタル信号を前記宛先装置に送信するステップと、
を含む前記方法。 - 前記ディジタル信号が配信される前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断する前記ステップが、
前記ネットワーク外の各装置へデータを経路指定するために使用される前記ネットワーク上のルータの位置情報を受信するステップと、
前記プログラム・コンテンツが配信される前記宛先装置に対応する位置情報を示す宛先データを受信するステップと、
前記宛先データが前記ルータの前記位置情報に対応しているか否かを判断することによって、前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断するステップと、
を含む、請求項1記載の方法。 - 前記ディジタル信号がトランスポート・ストリーム・パケットを含む、請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記トランスポート・ストリーム・パケットの各々について、ペイロード部分を調べて、そのパケットに対応する認証フィールドが、前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在る場合に、前記ネットワーク外への前記コンテンツの送信の許可を示しているか否かを判断し、前記ディジタル信号の送信の前記禁止が、その判断結果に応じて、前記パケットを捨てることを含む、請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記ルータの前記位置情報を受信する前記ステップが、前記ルータの物理アドレスを受信して、そのアドレスをメモリに記憶することを含む、請求項4記載の方法。
- 前記宛先データを受信する前記ステップが、前記装置からブロードキャストされたアドレス解決プロトコル要求に応答して送信された前記ネットワーク上の装置の物理アドレスを受信することを含む、請求項5記載の方法。
- 前記ディジタル信号が配信される前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断する前記ステップが、前記ネットワーク上の前記装置の前記受信物理アドレスと前記ルータの前記物理アドレスとを比較することを含む、請求項6記載の方法。
- 前記ディジタル信号に放送供給元からアクセスするステップを含み、前記装置がアクセス装置である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ディジタル信号がMPEG−2トランスポート・ストリームを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記認証フィールドがプログラム・マップ・テーブルに含まれている、請求項9記載の方法。
- ネットワークに接続されており、前記ネットワークに接続された別の装置にデータを配信できるように構成された装置であって、
プログラム・コンテンツを表すディジタル信号であり、前記ネットワーク外への前記ディジタル信号の配信が許可された第1のトランスポート・モードと、前記ネットワーク外への前記ディジタル信号の配信が禁止された第2のトランスポート・モードとを示す認証フィールドを含む前記ディジタル信号を受信する手段と、
前記ネットワーク上にデータを送信する送信動作を実行するためのコンピュータ・コードが記憶されたメモリと、
前記装置のデータ送受信動作を制御するプロセッサであり、前記ネットワークに接続された各装置のアドレス情報を記憶するデータ記憶手段を含む前記プロセッサと、
前記ネットワークに接続されており、前記ネットワークに接続された各装置からデータを受信し、また、前記ネットワーク上に前記ディジタル信号を配信するデータ・インタフェース手段と、を含み、
前記プロセッサが、前記別の装置が前記ネットワーク外に在り、且つ、前記認証フィールドが前記第2のトランスポート・モードを示していることが判断されると、前記ネットワーク上への前記ディジタル信号の送信を禁止し、その他の場合が判断されると、前記ネットワーク上への前記ディジタル信号の送信を可能にする、前記装置。 - 前記データ・インタフェース手段が、前記ネットワーク外の各装置へデータを経路指定するのに使用され前記ネットワークに接続されたルータに対応するアドレス情報と宛先装置に対応するアドレス情報とを受信するように構成されており、前記プロセッサが、前記ルータの前記アドレス情報と前記宛先装置の前記アドレス情報とを比較することによって、前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断する、請求項11記載の装置。
- 前記コンピュータ・コードが、
前記宛先装置に配信されるコンテンツを含むIPパケットをフォーマットするためのコンピュータ・プログラム・コードと、
前記宛先装置の物理アドレスと前記ネットワーク上の前記ルータに対応する物理アドレスとを比較して、前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在るか否かを判断するためのコンピュータ・プログラム・コードと、
前記認証フィールドが前記第2のトランスポート・モードを示し、且つ、前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在ることが判断されると、パケット・データの送信を禁止するためのコンピュータ・プログラム・コードと、
を含む、請求項11記載の装置。 - 前記ディジタル信号がMPEG−2オープン・データ・ストリームを含む、請求項11記載の装置。
- 前記認証フィールドがプログラム・マップ・テーブルに含まれている、請求項14記載の装置。
- アクセス装置を含み、前記受信する手段が、前記ディジタル信号を放送供給元から受信する手段を含む、請求項11記載の装置。
- 認証プロトコルを使用して前記宛先装置を認証するための手段を含む、請求項16記載の装置。
- 前記データ・インタフェース手段が、前記第2のトランスポート・モードと、前記宛先装置が前記ネットワーク外に在ることとが判断されると、前記データ・パケットを捨てる、請求項17記載の装置。
