Abstract
Description
好ましくは、ポリエチレンは、中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)(すなわち、典型的には0.930g/cm3乃至0.945g/cm3の範囲の密度を有するポリエチレン)、又は高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)(すなわち、0.945g/cm3乃至0.970g/cm3の密度を有するポリエチレン)である。当該ポリエチレンは、ホモポリマー又はコポリマーであることができ、ここで、3種以上のモノマーを有するポリマー(例えば、ターポリマー)も、本明細書において用いられる“コポリマー”という語の範囲に含まれる。適切なコモノマーには、α−オレフィン、例えば、C3−C20のα−オレフィン又はC3−C12のα−オレフィンが含まれる。当該α−オレフィンコモノマーは、線状又は分枝状であることができ、所望ならば、2以上のコモノマーを用いることができる。適切なコモノマーの例には、C3−C12の線状α−オレフィン、及び、アーリル基又は1以上のC1−C3のアルキル分枝を有するα−オレフィンが含まれる。具体例には、プロピレン;3−メチル−1−ブテン;3,3−ジメチル−1−ブテン;1−ペンテン;1以上のメチル、エチル、又はプロピル置換基を有する1−ペンテン;1以上のメチル、エチル、又はプロピル置換基を有する1−ヘキセン;1以上のメチル、エチル、又はプロピル置換基を有する1−ヘプテン;1以上のメチル、エチル、又はプロピル置換基を有する1−オクテン;1以上のメチル、エチル、又はプロピル置換基を有する1−ノネン;エチル置換、メチル置換、又はジメチル置換された1−デセン;1−ドデセン;及び、スチレンが含まれる。当該コモノマーのリストは、単なる例示にすぎず、これらに制限することを意図するものではないと理解すべきである。好ましいコモノマーには、プロピレン、1−ブテン、1−ペンテン、4−メチル−1−ペンテン、1−ヘキセン、1−オクテン、及びスチレンが含まれる。
単一の気相流動床反応器において、バイメタル触媒を用いて、中密度ポリエチレン(MDPE)二峰性樹脂を製造した。当該バイメタル触媒は、米国特許第6,403,181号に記載されているチーグラー・ナッタ/メタロセン触媒である。当該樹脂は、0.938g/cm3の密度、0.07dg/分のメルトインデックスI2.16、6.42dg/分のフローインデックスI21.6、及び92のMFR(I21.6/I2.16)を有する。当該二峰性樹脂の酸素テーラリングは、4インチ(10cm)の直径のFarrel 4LMSD配合機において行った。当該Farrel 4LMSD配合機は、5L/Dローターを有している。図2について、当該ローターの末端から0.5L/Dの溶融搬送ゾーン36において、10標準ft3/時間(0.3m3/時間)の流速で、酸素/窒素の気体混合物(O2は21体積%)を添加した。所望ならば、流れせき板(flow dam)を、排出口の末端から約1.0L/Dの位置に挿入することができ、酸素は、当該流れせき板の後方で、溶融搬送ゾーン36において注入される。いくつかの樹脂試料を、異なる溶融温度で加工した。
単一の気相流動床反応器において、バイメタル触媒を用いて、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)二峰性樹脂を製造した。当該バイメタル触媒は、米国特許第6,403,181号に記載されているチーグラー・ナッタ/メタロセン触媒である。当該樹脂は、0.946g/cm3の密度、0.066dg/分のメルトインデックスI2.16、5.81dg/分のフローインデックスI21.6、及び88のMFR(I21.6/I2.16)を有する。上述のように、当該二峰性樹脂の酸素テーラリングを行った。いくつかの樹脂試料を、異なる溶融温度で加工した。上述のように、テーラリング樹脂から単層のキャストフィルムを製造した。これらの実施例を表2にまとめる。
単一の気相流動床反応器において、バイメタル触媒を用いて、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)二峰性樹脂を製造した。当該バイメタル触媒は、米国特許第6,403,181号に記載されているチーグラー・ナッタ/メタロセン触媒である。上述のように、当該二峰性樹脂の酸素テーラリングを行った。
Claims (19)
- 二峰性ポリエチレン樹脂の押出方法であって、
(a)二峰性の分子量分布を有するポリエチレンホモポリマー又はコポリマー樹脂を提供する工程;
(b)当該樹脂が溶融されない供給ゾーン、当該樹脂が少なくとも部分的に溶融される溶融混合ゾーン、及び当該樹脂が溶融状態にある溶融ゾーンを有する押出機を経て当該樹脂を搬送する工程(ここで、各ゾーンは、当該樹脂で部分的に充填される);及び、
(c)前記溶融ゾーンにおいて、溶融樹脂を8乃至40体積%のO2を含む気体混合物と接触させる工程
を含む、当該方法。 - 前記二峰性ポリエチレン樹脂が、C3乃至C12のアルファ−オレフィンよりなる群から選択される少なくとも1のコモノマー及びエチレンのコポリマーである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記二峰性ポリエチレンが少なくとも0.93g/cm3の密度を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記二峰性ポリエチレンが少なくとも0.945g/cm3の密度を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記二峰性ポリエチレンが0.93乃至0.97g/cm3の密度を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記気体混合物が10乃至35体積%のO2を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記気体混合物が15乃至25体積%のO2を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記提供する工程が、エチレンを含むモノマーを担持型バイメタル触媒と重合条件において接触させて、二峰性の分子量分布を有するポリエチレン樹脂を製造する工程を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記担持型バイメタル触媒が、非メタロセン遷移金属触媒及びメタロセン遷移金属触媒を含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記モノマーが、少なくとも1のC3乃至C12のアルファ−オレフィン及びエチレンを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 工程(c)の後に、前記酸素処理された樹脂をペレット化する工程を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 二峰性の分子量分布を有するペレット化されたポリエチレンフィルム用樹脂の製造方法であって、
(a)重合条件において、エチレンを担持型バイメタル触媒と接触させて、二峰性の分子量分布を有するポリエチレン樹脂を製造する工程;
(b)当該樹脂が溶融されない供給ゾーン、当該樹脂が少なくとも部分的に溶融される溶融混合ゾーン、及び当該樹脂が溶融状態にある溶融ゾーンを有する押出機を経て当該樹脂を搬送する工程(ここで、各ゾーンは、当該樹脂で部分的に充填される);
(c)前記溶融ゾーンにおいて、溶融樹脂を8乃至40体積%のO2を含む気体混合物と接触させる工程;及び、
(d)当該酸素処理された樹脂をペレット化して、ペレット化ポリエチレンフィルム用樹脂を成形する工程
を含む、当該方法。 - 前記二峰性ポリエチレン樹脂が、C3乃至C12のアルファ−オレフィンよりなる群から選択される少なくとも1のコモノマー及びエチレンのコポリマーである、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記二峰性ポリエチレンが少なくとも0.93g/cm3の密度を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記二峰性ポリエチレンが少なくとも0.945g/cm3の密度を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記二峰性ポリエチレンが0.93乃至0.97g/cm3の密度を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記気体混合物が10乃至35体積%のO2を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記気体混合物が15乃至25体積%のO2を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記担持型バイメタル触媒が、非メタロセン遷移金属触媒及びメタロセン遷移金属触媒を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
