また、液体塗布具の内孔部と塗布体の外周部との間に形成されるインキ流路に於いて、弁機構部が開閉する部位前方の所定長さと塗布体が液体塗布具の前端から突出する側の所定長さを狭い流路とし、その中間に適宜幅広のインキ保留路を形成する手段は上述した実施形態に限定されない。すなわち、狭いインキ流路と幅広のインキ流路は塗布体の太さを調節するだけでなく、口先部の内孔に設けた溝の幅や深さを変えることで設定することも可能である。また更に、溝を内孔に沿ったジグザグ状、螺旋状などで設けることも可能である。また、前後の狭いインキ流路の中間に幅広のインキ流路が設けられるだけでなく、必要に応じて幅広のインキ流路の要所に狭いインキ流路を設けることでインキの速やかな導通とインキのボタ落ち防止の安全性のバランスがとられる。また、弁機構部の開口量やインキの特性等を勘案して設定される。また、コイルスプリングは全圧縮されることに限定されず、塗布体の後退阻止は別の手段を設けてもよい。
