Abstract
【解決手段】 基板1上に例えばインジウム−亜鉛酸化物(IZO)等の透明導電膜からなるホール注入電極2を形成し、このホール注入電極2上に、ホール注入層3、ホール輸送層4、発光層5および電子輸送層6を順に形成する。さらに、この電子輸送層6上に、例えばアルミニウム等からなる電子注入電極7を形成する。ホール注入層3は、例えばフッ化炭素(CFx)からなる。ホール注入層3の厚さは30Å以上90Å以下であることが好ましい。

Description
図1は本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る有機EL素子の一例を示す模式的な断面図である。
図3は本発明の第2の実施の形態に係る有機EL素子の一例を示す模式的な断面図である。
本実施例の有機EL素子の構成は、上記第1の実施の形態に係る有機EL素子と同様の構成である。フッ化炭素からなるホール注入層3の厚さは70Åであった。
本実施例の有機EL素子の構成は、上記第2の実施の形態に係る有機EL素子と同様の構成である。ホール注入層3の銅フタロシアニンからなる第1の注入層3aの厚さは100Åであった。また、ホール注入層3のフッ化炭素からなる第2の注入層3bの厚さは10Åであった。
本比較例の有機EL素子の構成は、上記第1の実施の形態に係る有機EL素子と同様の構成である。フッ化炭素からなるホール注入層3の厚さは10Åであった。
以上の結果より、有機層50内へのZnの拡散を抑制するには、フッ化炭素からなる厚さ30Å以上90Å以下であるのホール注入層3を備える有機EL素子100が好ましいことがわかった。

Claims (7)
- 第1の電極、キャリア注入層、有機層および第2の電極を順に備え、
前記第1の電極は、亜鉛を含む金属化合物からなり、
前記キャリア注入層は、フッ化炭素、銅フタロシアニンおよびスターバースト型有機化合物からなる群より選択される1種以上を含むことを特徴とする有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。 - 前記キャリア注入層は、フッ化炭素からなることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 前記フッ化炭素からなる前記キャリア注入層の膜厚は、30Å以上90Å以下であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 前記キャリア注入層は、前記第1の電極上に順に形成される銅フタロシアニンからなる層とフッ化炭素からなる層とを有する積層構造を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 前記フッ化炭素からなる層の膜厚は、10Å以上90Å以下であることを特徴とする請求項4記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 第1の電極、有機層および第2の電極を順に備え、前記第1の電極は亜鉛を含む金属化合物からなり、
80℃で40時間保存された場合における前記第1の電極から有機層への金属の拡散の深さが前記有機層の膜厚の5分の1以下であることを特徴とする有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。 - 前記拡散の深さは、前記有機層の膜厚の10分の1以下であることを特徴とする請求項6記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
