Abstract
【解決手段】 陽極線ドライブ回路2には、定電圧源V1 からの電圧が供給されるように構成されている。そして、陽極線ドライブ回路2におけるドライブスイッチSa1〜Samを、全て定電圧源V1 側に接続し、また陰極線走査回路3における走査スイッチSk1〜Skmを全てグランドGND側に接続することで、各EL素子E11〜Enmには、定電圧源V1 より画像の表示状態よりも大きな値の電流が供給される。このような大きな電流を定期的に与えることにより、有機EL素子に発生するリーク現象を修復、もしくはリーク状態に至るのを未然に防止させることができる。

Claims (25)
- 互いに交差する複数の走査線および複数のデータ線と、前記各走査線および各データ線の交差位置に配列されたダイオード特性を有する自発光素子を少なくとも含むことでそれぞれ画素を構成した発光表示パネルの駆動装置であって、
前記自発光素子を発光駆動させるために、当該自発光素子のアノード端子側より第一電流が供給できるように構成されると共に、前記第一電流の値よりも大きな値の第二電流を前記自発光素子に供給することができるように構成したことを特徴とする発光表示パネルの駆動装置。 - 前記第一電流と第二電流は、異なる定電流源から切り換え手段を介して供給されるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記第一電流と第二電流は、電流値が可変できる1つの定電流源から供給されるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記第一電流は定電流源より供給され、前記第二電流は定電圧源より供給されるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記自発光素子のアノード端子側もしくはカソード端子側のいずれかまたは両方に、前記自発光素子に対して逆バイアス電圧を印加することができる電源がさらに備えられていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記自発光素子が発光駆動トランジスタと直列に接続されることで各画素を構成し、前記発光駆動トランジスタに与えられる異なるゲート電位によって、前記自発光素子に対して前記第一電流と、第二電流が選択的に供給できるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記自発光素子は発光駆動トランジスタと直列に接続されることで各画素を構成し、かつ、制御端子へ入力されるスイッチング信号により端子間が開閉される第1と第2の被制御端子を備えるスイッチングトランジスタが備えられ、
前記自発光素子と発光駆動トランジスタとの接続点に前記スイッチングトランジスタの第1被制御端子が接続され、前記スイッチングトランジスタの第2被制御端子には、前記第二電流を供給するための電源が接続され、

- 前記自発光素子は発光駆動トランジスタと直列に接続されることで各画素を構成し、かつ、制御端子へ入力されるスイッチング信号により端子間が開閉される第1と第2の被制御端子を備えるスイッチングトランジスタが備えられ、
前記発光駆動トランジスタのソースとドレイン間には、前記スイッチングトランジスタの第1と第2の被制御端子がそれぞれ接続され、

- 前記スイッチングトランジスタのオンの期間において前記自発光素子に対して順方向に第二電流を供給するための電源と、前記自発光素子に対して逆バイアスの電圧を供給するための電源とが、前記発光駆動トランジスタのソース側と、前記自発光素子のカソード側とにおいて、それぞれ切り換え可能に接続されていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 互いに交差する複数の走査線および複数のデータ線と、前記各走査線および各データ線の交差位置に配列されたダイオード特性を有する自発光素子を少なくとも含むことでそれぞれ画素が構成され、前記自発光素子を発光駆動させるための順方向とは反対の逆バイアス電圧を、前記自発光素子に印加できるように構成した発光表示パネルの駆動装置であって、
前記逆バイアス電圧が、第一の電圧値と前記第一の電圧値よりも大きい第二の電圧値を有することを特徴とする発光表示パネルの駆動装置。 - 前記自発光素子のカソード側における定電圧源を切り換えることで、前記第一の電圧値による逆バイアス電圧と、第二の電圧値による逆バイアス電圧が各自発光素子に印加できるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記自発光素子のアノード側における定電圧源を切り換えることで、前記第一の電圧値による逆バイアス電圧と、第二の電圧値による逆バイアス電圧が各自発光素子に印加できるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 各自発光素子に対して前記第一の電圧値による逆バイアス電圧の印加が実行されると共に、前記第一の電圧値による逆バイアス電圧の印加の所定回数の実行ごとに、前記第二の電圧値による逆バイアス電圧の印加が実行されるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項12ないし請求項14のいずれか1項に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記発光素子に流れる電流値が第二の電流値となる第一の自己リペアモードを設けたことを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項11のいずれか1項に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記第一の自己リペアモードにおいては、前記発光表示パネルに配列された全ての発光素子が点灯制御されるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記発光素子に印加される逆バイアス電圧値が、前記第二の値となる第二の自己リペアモードを設けたことを特徴とする請求項12ないし請求項14のいずれか1項に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 前記第二の自己リペアモードにおいては、前記発光表示パネルに配列された全ての発光素子が消灯制御されるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
- 1フレーム期間または1サブフレーム期間中に、通常点灯時よりも大きな比率の非点灯走査期間を設定し、この非点灯走査期間に前記発光素子に対して逆バイアス電圧を印加する第三の自己リペアモードを設けたことを特徴とする請求項12ないし請求項14のいずれか1項に記載の発光表示パネルの駆動装置。
