Description

The present invention relates to a vehicular bumper structure, and more particularly to a vehicular bumper structure that detects a collision object in a vehicle such as an automobile.

Conventionally, in a vehicle bumper structure for detecting a collision object in a vehicle such as an automobile, a groove extending in the longitudinal direction is formed on the front surface of the bumper reinforcement, and a collision detection sensor is accommodated in the groove, and an impact absorbing material. A configuration is known in which a pair of upper and lower grooves are formed on the rear surface, and a pushing portion for a collision detection sensor is formed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
JP 2000-225907 A

However, in Patent Document 1, a space is formed between the front wall portion of the bumper reinforcement where the collision detection sensor is disposed and the rear wall portion of the bumper reinforcement. As a result, the rigidity of the mounting position of the collision detection sensor is low. For this reason, the collision detection sensor easily moves to the rear side of the vehicle body when a load is applied, so that stable detection cannot be performed, and the collision detection performance is deteriorated.

An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle bumper structure that can improve the collision detection performance in consideration of the above facts.

A bumper reinforcement for a vehicle according to a first aspect of the present invention includes a bumper reinforcement that extends along the vehicle width direction and has a side cross-sectional shape having a closed cross-sectional portion;
A reinforcing portion disposed along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body in the closed cross-sectional portion;
A collision detection sensor disposed on a vehicle body outer surface of the bumper reinforcement that is on the vehicle body outside of the reinforcing portion;
It is characterized by having.

Therefore, when the collision body collides with the bumper, a load from the outside is transmitted to the collision detection sensor. At this time, a reinforcing portion along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body in the closed cross section of the bumper reinforcement is disposed inside the vehicle body outer surface of the bumper reinforcement where the collision detection sensor is disposed. As a result, the rigidity of the attachment position of the collision detection sensor is high. For this reason, since the collision detection sensor is difficult to move to the inside of the vehicle body when the load is applied and stable load detection can be performed, the collision detection performance can be improved.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the vehicular bumper structure according to the first aspect, the collision detection sensor is provided above the center in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement. .

Therefore, in addition to the content described in claim 1, since the collision detection sensor is provided above the center in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement, the collision body abuts above the center in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement in the bumper. In this case, the detection performance is improved as compared with the case where the colliding body is in contact with the lower side of the bumper reinforcement in the bumper reinforcement in the vertical direction. As a result, it is possible to improve the collision detection performance when the collision body contacts the upper side of the bumper.

The bumper structure for a vehicle according to the first aspect of the present invention includes a bumper reinforcement that extends in the vehicle width direction and has a side cross-sectional shape having a closed cross-sectional portion, and a vehicle body longitudinal direction in the closed cross-sectional portion. Since it has the reinforcement part arrange | positioned and the collision detection sensor arrange | positioned in the vehicle body outer side surface of the bumper reinforcement used as the vehicle body outer side of a reinforcement part, it has the outstanding effect that a collision detection performance can be improved.

In addition, the present invention described in claim 2 provides the vehicle bumper structure described in claim 1, wherein the collision detection sensor is provided above the center in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement. Thus, it has an excellent effect of improving the collision detection performance when the colliding body comes into contact with the upper side of the bumper.

An embodiment of a vehicle bumper structure according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.

In the figure, the arrow UP indicates the vehicle body upward direction, and the arrow FR in the figure indicates the vehicle body front direction.

As shown in FIG. 4, a bumper cover 14 of the front bumper 12 is disposed along the vehicle width direction at the lower part of the front end of the automobile body 10 of the present embodiment. A grill 18 is disposed between the vehicle width direction intermediate portion of the bumper cover 14 and the front end portion of the hood 16.

As shown in FIG. 1, the bumper reinforcement 20 of the front bumper 12 extends along the vehicle width direction, and is installed on the front end portions 22 </ b> A of the left and right front side members 22. Further, the side cross-sectional shape of the bumper reinforcement 20 is a closed cross-sectional portion that is divided into three in the vertical direction by ribs 20A and 20B as reinforcing portions formed along the vehicle longitudinal direction with a predetermined interval in the vehicle vertical direction. 24 has a square shape.

A bumper touch sensor 26 as a collision detection sensor is disposed along the vehicle width direction at a portion of the front wall portion 20C of the bumper reinforcement 20 on the front side of the upper rib 20A. The bumper touch sensor 26 is provided above the center Q in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement.

As shown in FIG. 2, the bumper touch sensor 26 is fixed to the front wall portion 20C of the bumper reinforcement 20 via a strip-shaped bracket 27 with double-sided tape or the like. The bumper touch sensor 26 is, for example, a Hi / Low output. It is composed of switch type sensors.

As shown in FIG. 1, a portion of the bumper reinforcement 20 and the bumper touch sensor 26 that is outside the vehicle body (front side of the vehicle body), that is, between the bumper reinforcement 20 or the bumper touch sensor 26 and the bumper cover 14, A bumper absorber foam 30 as an impact absorbing material is disposed.

Further, on the rear wall portion of the bumper absorber foam 30, convex portions 30A, 30B, 30C, and 30D are formed toward the vehicle body inner side (vehicle body rear side) at predetermined intervals in the vehicle body vertical direction. The intermediate convex portions 30 </ b> B and 30 </ b> C are in contact with the front wall portion 20 </ b> C of the bumper reinforcement 20 in the vicinity of the bumper touch sensor 26.

A gap 32 between the bumper touch sensor 26 and the portion 30E between the convex portion 30B and the convex portion 30C in the rear wall portion of the bumper absorber form 30 is narrow.

On the other hand, among the convex portions 30A, 30B, 30C, and 30D, the upper convex portion 30A and the lower convex portion 30D are the upper edge portion 20D of the front wall portion 20C in the bumper reinforcement 20, the vicinity thereof, and the lower edge portion 20E. It is in contact with the vicinity.

An engagement claw portion 30F is formed at the upper end portion of the bumper absorber foam 30 toward the inner side of the vehicle body (rear side of the vehicle body), and the lower end portion of the bumper absorber foam 30 is directed toward the inner side of the vehicle body (rear side of the vehicle body). Thus, an engaging claw 30G is formed. Further, the engaging claw portions 30F and 30G of the bumper absorber form 30 sandwich the front wall portion 20C of the bumper reinforcement 20 from the vertical direction of the vehicle body, and the bumper absorber form 30 is in the vertical direction of the vehicle body with respect to the bumper reinforcement 20 Is prevented from moving to.

Note that the front wall portion 30H of the bumper absorber foam 30 is substantially flat in the vertical direction of the vehicle body.

Next, the operation of this embodiment will be described.

In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4, when the collision body K1 collides with the front bumper 12, the bumper absorber foam 30 together with the bumper cover 14 of the front bumper 12 is caused by the collision body K1 as shown in FIG. Is pressed from the front side of the vehicle body toward the rear side of the vehicle body. As a result, a portion 30E between the convex portion 30B and the convex portion 30C in the rear wall portion of the bumper absorber foam 30 comes into contact with the bumper touch sensor 26, and the load F from the outside is transmitted to the bumper touch sensor 26.

At this time, in the present embodiment, the bumper touch sensor 26 is disposed along the vehicle width direction at a portion of the front wall portion 20C of the bumper reinforcement 20 that is on the vehicle body outside (vehicle body front side) of the upper rib 20A. Yes. That is, on the vehicle body inner side (vehicle body rear side) of the front wall portion 20C of the bumper reinforcement 20 in which the bumper touch sensor 26 is disposed, the rib 20A along the vehicle body longitudinal direction in the closed cross section 24 of the bumper reinforcement 20 is provided. Is arranged.

As a result, in this embodiment, the rigidity of the mounting position of the bumper touch sensor 26 is high. For this reason, in the present embodiment, the bumper touch sensor 26 is difficult to move to the rear side of the vehicle body when a load is applied, and stable load detection can be performed, so that the collision detection performance can be improved.

As shown in FIG. 4, when the collision body K1 collides with the upper side of the front bumper 12, the upper side of the bumper absorber foam 30 is pressed as shown in FIG. At this time, in this embodiment, the bumper touch sensor 26 is provided above the center Q in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement 20. As a result, a portion 30E between the convex portion 30B and the convex portion 30C in the rear wall portion of the bumper absorber foam 30 comes into contact with the bumper touch sensor 26, and the load F from the outside is transmitted to the bumper touch sensor 26.

On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 6, when the collision body K2 collides with the lower side of the front bumper 12, the lower side of the bumper absorber foam 30 is pressed as shown in FIG. At this time, in this embodiment, the bumper touch sensor 26 is provided above the center Q in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement 20. As a result, the portion 30E between the convex portion 30B and the convex portion 30C in the rear wall portion of the bumper absorber foam 30 does not contact the bumper touch sensor 26, and the load F from the outside is not transmitted to the bumper touch sensor 26. .

Therefore, in this embodiment, when the collision body K1 is in contact with the upper side in the vertical direction Q of the bumper reinforcement 20 in the front bumper 12, the collision body K2 is in the vertical direction center of the bumper reinforcement 20 in the front bumper 12. The detection performance is improved as compared with the case of contacting the lower side than Q. For this reason, it is possible to improve the collision detection performance when the collision body contacts the upper side of the front bumper 12.

Although the present invention has been described in detail with respect to specific embodiments, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various other embodiments are possible within the scope of the present invention. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art. For example, in the above embodiment, the bumper touch sensor 26 is provided above the center Q in the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement 20, but instead, the bumper touch sensor 26 is provided in the vertical center Q or the vertical direction of the bumper reinforcement 20. You may provide below the direction center Q. FIG.

The bumper touch sensor 26 is not limited to a switch type sensor with Hi / Low output, but may be another type of sensor such as an analog output type pressure detection sensor.

Further, the side cross-sectional shape of the bumper reinforcement 20 is not limited to the square shape having the closed cross-sectional portion 24 divided into three in the vertical direction by the ribs 20A and 20B, and is divided into two in the vertical direction by one rib. A Japanese character shape may be sufficient. Moreover, the side cross-sectional shape of the bumper reinforcement 20 may be a ladder shape divided in the vertical direction by three or more ribs.

In addition, the vehicle bumper structure of the present invention can be applied to bumpers other than the front bumper 12, and can also be applied to a rear bumper.
