Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a catalytic combustion apparatus, and more particularly to a catalytic combustion apparatus with high heat recovery efficiency. The present invention also relates to an energy efficient fuel cell cogeneration system provided with the catalytic combustion apparatus.
Conventionally, in the case of a small fuel cell system in which the raw material fuel is pure hydrogen or a gas rich in hydrogen and the raw material fuel is directly used as a fuel gas and the power generation amount is 0.5 to 5 kW, the anode off-gas discharged from the fuel cell Is difficult to burn because of its low hydrogen content and low heat content, and high moisture content. Was generally released.
However, if the anode off gas is diluted and released, the amount of heat of the hydrogen gas contained and the sensible heat and latent heat that it contains are discarded without being recovered, and moisture is not recovered and utilized. Efficiency and water independence are reduced.
Accordingly, the present invention provides a catalytic combustion apparatus capable of thermally combusting a combustible gas having a small calorific value and a large amount of water, and an anode without adding an electric auxiliary device such as a combustion air blower by including the catalytic combustion apparatus. An object of the present invention is to provide a fuel cell cogeneration system that uses pure hydrogen or a gas rich in hydrogen having high total energy efficiency as a fuel by burning off-gas.
In order to achieve the above object, a catalytic combustion apparatus according to the first aspect of the present invention is a combustion catalyst that promotes the combustion of a combustion-supporting
When configured in this way, the combustion support gas and the combustible gas are preheated by the combustion heat generated in the catalytic combustion layer in the process of flowing through the gas introduction path, and are mixed by flowing through the same flow path. The combustor gas and the combustible gas introduced into the catalytic combustion layer are easily combusted. Moreover, the catalyst combustion layer is filled with a combustion catalyst, and combustion of the combustion support gas and the combustible gas is promoted. Therefore, it becomes a catalytic combustion apparatus which burns efficiently, without adding the preheating apparatus for preheating the combustion support gas and the combustible gas. Further, the combustion gas generated by the catalytic combustion exchanges heat with the cooling water, and the combustion heat is recovered into the cooling water. In particular, the combustion gas flows through the heat transfer medium packed bed filled with the heat transfer promoting medium, whereby the heat of the combustion gas is transferred to the heat transfer promoting medium, and the heat is transferred to the cooling water through the heat transfer promoting medium. Therefore, heat exchange is performed efficiently.
Further, in the catalytic combustion apparatus according to the second aspect of the present invention, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, in the
If comprised in this way, in addition to receiving preheating in the process which distribute | circulates in the inside of a jacket, since a combustion support gas and a combustible gas are fully mixed, the combustion support gas introduced into the catalyst combustion layer, and a combustible gas Becomes easier to burn. Further, since the flow path between the combustion support gas and the combustible gas serves as a jacket, there is no increase in pressure loss. Moreover, by comprising with a jacket, a structure becomes simple, and also it becomes unnecessary to provide a heat insulating material in a catalyst combustion layer, or a heat insulating material can be made thin.
Further, in the catalytic combustion apparatus according to the invention described in claim 3, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, in the
If comprised in this way, since the flow path of a cooling water becomes a jacket, there will be no increase in pressure loss. Moreover, by comprising with a jacket, heat exchange is performed, without increasing the number of apparatuses, and also it becomes unnecessary to provide a heat insulating material in a heat transfer medium filling layer, or a heat insulating material can be made thin.
In order to achieve the above object, a fuel
With this configuration, the fuel gas and the oxidant gas are humidified using the recovered water generated in the fuel cell, so that the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell is increased, and the recovered water is used for humidification. System, that is, a system that can operate without external water supply. In addition, since the anode off-gas and the cathode off-gas are catalytically burned with high combustion efficiency, the fuel gas utilization efficiency is improved. Since the combustion gas and cooling water exchange heat to recover thermal energy, the energy recovery rate is also improved. Therefore, it becomes a fuel cell cogeneration system with high total energy efficiency.
Further, the fuel
With this configuration, the recovered water recovers heat from the combustion gas of catalytic combustion, and the heat of the combustion gas is effectively used in the recovered water, so that a fuel cell cogeneration system with high overall energy efficiency is obtained.
According to the present invention, the combustion support gas and the combustible gas are preheated and mixed well by the combustion heat generated in the catalytic combustion layer in the process of flowing through the gas introduction path, so a preheating device and a gas mixing device are separately added. Thus, catalytic combustion can be performed without causing a catalytic combustion apparatus with improved fuel efficiency. In addition, since the combustion gas exchanges heat with the cooling water, the combustion heat is recovered into the cooling water, so that a highly efficient catalytic combustion apparatus can be obtained.
Further, in the fuel power generation cogeneration system equipped with the catalytic combustion apparatus according to the present invention, the fuel gas and the oxidant gas are humidified by the water generated by the electrochemical reaction in the fuel cell, so that the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell is improved. It can be increased and it becomes a water-independent system. Further, the fuel gas utilization efficiency is improved and the energy recovery rate is also improved, so that a fuel cell cogeneration system with high overall energy efficiency is obtained.

In FIG. 2, the symbols with “a” and “42A”, “42B”, and “42C” represent objects, and when indicated by these symbols, the line indicates the flow of the object, and these symbols are appended.
FIG. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view for explaining a
As the

The gas flow path around the catalyst packed
In the
The heat

The cooling water flow path around the heat transfer medium
Subsequently, combustion in the
When the mixed gas of the anode off
In the
In the catalyst packed
The recovered
In the

As a result of the pressure increase by the

The

After the fuel
The exhaust heat is collected in the exhaust heat
The recovered
The recovered
A part of the recovered
The exhaust heat
The exhaust
The hot
Further, the humidification / heating of the
Therefore, the
The three-
In the operation in which the exhaust
On the other hand, in the operation in which the exhaust heat
