Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ink jet recording apparatus and an ink jet recording method, and in particular, an ink jet recording apparatus and an ink jet which perform borderless printing on a recording medium by moving a recording head along a guide shaft and discharging pigment ink from the recording head. It relates to a recording method.
An ink jet recording apparatus capable of printing with zero margins at the front, rear, left, and right edges of a recording medium is disclosed (see, for example, Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2).
According to the recording apparatuses disclosed in these publications, the scanning operation of the recording head mounted on the carriage is set so as to move to a position outside the left and right edges of the recording medium, and the printing operation is executed. It is configured.
When printing with this ink jet recording apparatus, as shown in FIG. 5A, the
At this time, in order to perform printing with the margin of the leading
In this state, when the
Further, when the
Here, the
Therefore, as shown in FIG. 7, the
As described above, when the
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to perform ink jet recording using a pigment ink that can sufficiently infiltrate the platen with ink that protrudes outward from the edge of the recording medium. An apparatus and an ink jet recording method are provided.
In order to achieve the above-described object, the ink jet recording apparatus of the present invention, as described above, uses an ink using a pigment as a colorant, moves a recording head along a guide shaft, In an ink jet recording apparatus in which pigment ink that protrudes outside the recording medium is infiltrated into the platen when performing borderless printing on the recording medium by discharging the pigment ink from the recording head. A dispersion or solution containing at least one resin component selected from the group consisting of a system and silicone oil is impregnated.
The dispersion or solution containing the resin component mentioned here has an effect of improving ink repellency by impregnating the platen. Therefore, in the ink jet recording apparatus configured in this way, when the platen is impregnated with a dispersion or solution containing such a resin component, the pigment ink that has landed on the platen easily flows down, and the platen surface is dried. Penetrates inside the platen before thickening. As a result, since the pigment ink can be prevented from being piled up on the surface of the platen, it is possible to prevent the subsequent recording medium from coming into contact with the pile and to prevent the recording medium from becoming dirty.
In addition, as a preferable aspect, the ink jet recording apparatus of the present invention has at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a fluororesin system, a silicone resin system, and a silicone oil, as described above. The resin component is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent having a boiling point of 150 ° C. or higher.
Thus, by dissolving or dispersing in a low boiling point high boiling point solvent having a boiling point of 150 ° C. or higher, the evaporation of the solvent component can be reduced and the pigment ink can be efficiently penetrated into the platen.
Furthermore, as described above, the solvent having a boiling point of 150 ° C. or higher contains at least one kind of solvent selected from alcohols or petroleum solvents, so that a dispersion or solution having low odor and high safety. It can be.
Further, as described above, the dispersion or solution further includes a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of less than 8.
It is generally known that such a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of less than 8 has an emulsifying and dispersing action in a hydrophobic solvent. Therefore, by including such a nonionic surfactant, the aforementioned resin components that are difficult to disperse can be easily dispersed in alcohols and petroleums used as solutions and dispersions in the present invention.
On the other hand, as described above, the ink jet recording method of the present invention uses ink using a pigment as a colorant, moves the recording head along the guide shaft, and discharges the pigment ink from the recording head. In the ink jet recording method in which the pigment ink that protrudes from the outside of the recording medium is soaked into the platen when performing borderless printing on the recording medium, the fluororesin-based, silicone resin-based, and silicone oil are used in advance. It is characterized by being impregnated with a dispersion or solution containing at least one selected resin component.
As a result, since the pigment ink can be prevented from being piled up on the surface of the platen, it is possible to prevent the subsequent recording medium from coming into contact with the pile and to prevent the recording medium from becoming dirty.
In the ink jet recording method of the present invention, as a preferred embodiment, as described above, the dispersion or solution is at least one selected from the group consisting of a fluororesin system, a silicone resin system, and a silicone oil. This resin component is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent having a boiling point of 150 ° C. or higher.
Thus, by dissolving or dispersing in a low boiling point high boiling point solvent having a boiling point of 150 ° C. or higher, the evaporation of the solvent component can be reduced and the pigment ink can be efficiently penetrated into the platen.

As described above, the ink jet recording apparatus of the present invention is impregnated with a dispersion or solution containing at least one resin component selected from the group consisting of fluororesin, silicone resin, and silicone oil on the platen. As a result, the pigment ink that has landed on the platen easily flows down and penetrates into the platen before drying and thickening on the platen surface. As a result, since the pigment ink can be prevented from being piled up on the surface of the platen, it is possible to prevent the subsequent recording medium from coming into contact with the pile and to prevent the recording medium from becoming dirty.
Therefore, especially when the room temperature rises in summer, etc., even if moisture evaporates from the pigment ink ejected onto the platen and the pigment concentration in the ink increases, the precipitation of the pigment is suppressed and the platen is sufficiently efficient. Can be soaked well.

According to the ink
Next, an ink jet recording method of the ink
When printing is performed by the ink
In this state, when the
Further, when the
Here, the
For this reason, as shown in FIG. 4, the
Therefore, it is possible to prevent the ink (pigment) from being piled up on the surface of the
The
