Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire that is useful for improving running performance on, for example, icy and snowy roads.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in a pneumatic tire called a studless tire, a large number of sipings extending substantially in the tire axial direction are arranged on a block provided in a tread portion. Such a block ensures a grip force on an icy and snowy road surface due to the edge effect of siping. However, when the siping arrangement density is increased, there is a drawback that the block cannot sufficiently secure rigidity, and the block is greatly collapsed due to the shearing force accompanying the contact with the road surface.
[0003]
For this reason, the technology of preventing the collapse of the block by partially reducing the depth of the siping or by supporting the block pieces separated by the siping with each other by making the siping into a wave shape or a zigzag shape. Has been proposed. Further, in Patent Document 1 below, for the purpose of further suppressing the deformation of the block and improving the running performance on the icy and snowy road surface, a siping for dividing the block into an inner region and an outer region is provided, and this siping is performed in the depth direction. A technique for inclining is disclosed.
[0004]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-11-165507
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the method of partially reducing the depth of siping has the disadvantage that the siping effect disappears early due to wear. Further, in the zigzag siding method, the block rigidity, particularly the rigidity of the block small pieces located at both ends in the tire circumferential direction divided by the siping tends to be lowered, and uneven wear tends to occur in this portion. Furthermore, although the technique disclosed in Patent Document 1 can suppress a decrease in block rigidity, it is difficult to increase the density of siping arrangements, and thus the flexibility of the blocks cannot be ensured. This is because it cannot follow the road surface on a road surface with various friction coefficients (hereinafter simply referred to as μ) or a surface shape, especially on an icy and snowy road, and the change from the grip area to the slip area becomes abrupt. . Therefore, the behavior change at the limit running tends to be sudden.
[0006]
The present invention has been devised in view of the above problems, and the block is provided with an annular siping that divides the block into a central portion and a peripheral portion that continuously surrounds the central portion. The center portion is formed of two or more block small pieces separated by sub-sipes extending in the annular sipe and both ends communicating with the annular sipe, and has excellent running performance on icy and snowy road surfaces. It aims to provide a pneumatic tire.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The invention according to claim 1 of the present invention is a pneumatic tire in which a block is provided in a tread portion, and at least one block continuously surrounds the central portion and the periphery of the central portion. An annular siping that is divided into a peripheral portion is provided, and the central portion is composed of two or more block pieces that extend in the annular siping and that are divided by sub-sipes whose both ends communicate with the annular siping. It is said.

【Example】
A studless tire for passenger cars (size 195 / 65R15) having the tread pattern shown in FIG. 1 is manufactured based on the specifications shown in Table 1 based on the siping of FIG. 7 (A), and uneven wear resistance, braking ability and steering stability are produced. Tested. For comparison, a tire having the same size block having the siping shown in FIG. 7B (Comparative Example 1) and a tire having the same size block having the siping shown in FIG. A test was also conducted for Example 2) to compare the performance. The depth of siping was 75% of the block height in all cases, and the groove width of siping was 1.0 mm. The test method is as follows.
[0034]
<Uneven wear resistance>
Each test tire is mounted on all wheels of a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a displacement of 2000 cc (longitudinal load of 350 kgf per tire), runs on the test course for 2000 km, the average value of block toe and heel wear, The difference from the amount of wear at the center was measured. Note that the measurements are made at four locations evenly on the tire circumference and the average values are shown. The smaller the value, the better.

[0038]
From the test results, it can be confirmed that the pneumatic tire of the present invention is excellent in braking performance and steering stability on icy roads and snowy roads. Moreover, there is no problem in wear performance.

As described above, in the pneumatic tire of the present invention, the edge component of a plurality of block pieces appears at the center of the block, and the edge component scrapes the road surface, thereby exerting grip force on icy and snowy roads. sell. In addition, since the block piece is divided by sub-siping, its compression rigidity is alleviated, so that, for example, the envelope performance can be improved, and it can be deformed and tracked on various road surfaces having different μ or surface shapes. As a result, even on slippery low-μ icy and snowy roads, the road surface is tenaciously gripped and the transition from the grip area to the slip area is smooth. Therefore, the behavior change at the time of limit driving is stabilized, which helps to improve the steering stability.
[0039]
Further, the peripheral portion of the block continuously surrounds the divided block pieces. For this reason, for example, even when a large shearing force acts in the tire circumferential direction, it is possible to limit the large fall-down and displacement of the block small pieces to a small range. Therefore, the block can secure the flexibility while suppressing the decrease in the rigidity, and can improve the braking performance on the icy and snowy road surface.
[0040]
Further, as in the invention described in
[0041]
Further, as in the third aspect of the invention, when the secondary siping includes at least two blocks that are communicated with the annular siping at both ends and are parallel to each other, at least two block pieces can be formed in the central portion. Flexibility can be secured.
