実施の形態1の液滴吐出装置100は、QCM(Quartz−Crystal Microbalance)と呼ばれるセンサを搭載した構成となっている。
【0019】
制御部101は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、ROM、RAMなどからなり、液滴吐出装置100全体を制御する。
Coのために共振点は、本来の水晶振動子の共振点であるfs(直列共振周波数)からfr(一般的に共振周波数と言う場合はfrを言う)にずれてしまう。
【0034】

About.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, a droplet discharge device is used for forming a color filter, an alignment film, and the like of a liquid crystal display device. In addition, the droplet discharge device is used in various industrial fields. The droplet discharge device has a droplet discharge mechanism called a discharge head. A plurality of nozzles are regularly formed in the discharge head. In a droplet discharge device, a pattern made of a discharge material is drawn on a substrate which is a component of some product by discharging a droplet of the discharge material from these nozzles. Recently, the pattern has been miniaturized, and it is necessary to accurately control the weight of droplets ejected from the ejection head. Therefore, it is indispensable to accurately measure the weight of fine droplets in order to accurately control the discharge amount of the droplets. The following devices are known as devices for measuring the weight of droplets ejected from the ejection head (see, for example, Patent Document 1). The apparatus includes a resonance unit whose resonance frequency changes depending on the mass of the attached droplet, the measurement unit measures the change in the resonance frequency, and the calculation unit measures the mass of the droplet based on the change in the resonance frequency. [Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, according to this apparatus, since the weight of the droplet is measured with a slight change in the resonance frequency of the resonance part, the resonance frequency fluctuates if any contaminants remain in the resonance part. There is a problem that the weight cannot be measured.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above, and a droplet weight measuring device capable of measuring the weight of a droplet discharged from a discharge head with high accuracy and a liquid equipped with the droplet weight measuring device. An object is to provide a droplet discharge device.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems and achieve the object, according to the present invention, in a droplet weight measuring apparatus for measuring the weight of droplets ejected from an ejection head, a driving signal is applied to the ejection head to An ejection head control means for ejecting droplets; a detection means comprising a piezoelectric vibrator having electrodes formed on both sides; and a resonance frequency of the piezoelectric vibrator before the droplet ejected from the ejection head adheres to the electrode And a first resonance frequency detecting means for detecting the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric vibrator after the liquid droplets discharged from the discharge head adhere to the electrode as a second resonance frequency. Second resonance frequency detecting means, and a droplet weight measuring means for measuring the weight of the droplet attached to the electrode based on the amount of change between the first resonance frequency and the second resonance frequency; The first Vibration frequency is determined whether there exists within the first predetermined area, based on the determination result, characterized by comprising a control means for controlling the execution of the weighing of the droplet.
[0007]
The first resonance frequency measuring means detects the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric vibrator before the droplet discharged from the discharge head adheres to the electrode as the first resonance frequency. The control means determines whether or not the first resonance frequency is within a first predetermined range, and controls execution of the weight measurement of the droplet based on the determination result. Here, the case where the first resonance frequency is not within the first predetermined range is a case where contaminants are attached to the detection means and the weight of the droplet cannot be measured accurately. The control means does not perform droplet weight measurement when the first resonance frequency is not within the first predetermined range, while the first resonance frequency is within the first predetermined range. In this case, by measuring the weight of the droplet, it is possible to avoid the measurement of the weight of the droplet when contaminants are attached to the detection unit and the weight of the droplet cannot be measured accurately. As a result, it is possible to provide a droplet weight measuring apparatus capable of measuring the weight of droplets discharged from the discharge head with high accuracy.
[0008]
According to a preferred aspect of the present invention, when the first resonance frequency is not within the first predetermined range, the control means does not perform droplet weight measurement while the first resonance frequency is not within the first predetermined range. When the resonance frequency is within the first predetermined range, it is desirable to perform weight measurement of the droplet. As a result, when the contaminant is attached to the detection means and the weight of the droplet cannot be measured accurately, the measurement of the weight of the droplet can be avoided, and only when the contaminant is not attached to the detection means. Can be measured.
[0009]
According to a preferred aspect of the present invention, the information processing apparatus further includes display means for displaying information, and the control means, when the first resonance frequency is not within the first predetermined range, It is desirable to display the effect on the display means. As a result, the operator can know the contamination of the detection means, clean the detection means and measure the weight of the droplet again, or replace it with a new detection means to measure the weight of the droplet. Can do.
[0010]
Further, according to a preferred aspect of the present invention, when the first resonance frequency is in the first predetermined range, the control means further has the second resonance frequency in a second predetermined range. When the second resonance frequency is not within the second predetermined range, it is desirable not to perform the weight measurement of the droplet. Thereby, it is possible to detect adhesion of contaminants of the detection means more strictly.
[0011]
Further, according to a preferred aspect of the present invention, there is further provided display means for displaying information, wherein the control means, when the second resonance frequency is not within the second predetermined range, It is desirable to display the effect on the display means. As a result, the operator can know the contamination of the detection means, clean the detection means and measure the weight of the droplet again, or replace it with a new detection means to measure the weight of the droplet. Can do.
[0012]
Further, according to a preferred aspect of the present invention, the apparatus further comprises a cleaning unit for cleaning the electrode, and the control unit is configured such that when the first resonance frequency is not within the first predetermined range, It is desirable that when the cleaning means cleans the electrode and the first resonance frequency after the cleaning is within the first predetermined range, the weight measurement of the droplet is performed. Thereby, the droplets adhering to the electrode of the detection means can be automatically washed. As a result, it is not necessary for the operator to clean the detection means to which the droplets adhere after measuring the droplet weight.
[0013]
According to a preferred aspect of the present invention, it is desirable that the piezoelectric vibrator is a quartz crystal vibrator. Thereby, the change of the resonance frequency by adhesion of a droplet can be detected with high accuracy.
[0014]
According to a preferred aspect of the present invention, it is desirable to mount the above-described droplet weight measuring device on the droplet discharge device. Thereby, the weight of the droplet discharged from the discharge head by the droplet discharge device can be measured with high accuracy.
[0015]
According to a preferred aspect of the present invention, the droplet discharge device is used for pattern formation of any one of a wiring, a color filter, an alignment film, a microlens array, an electroluminescent material, and a biological material. It is desirable to do. Thereby, the pattern formation of any one of wiring, a color filter, an alignment film, a microlens array, an electroluminescent material, and a biological substance can be performed using the droplet discharge device of the present invention.
[0016]
According to a preferred aspect of the present invention, it is desirable that the droplet discharge device is an ink jet printer. As a result, the droplet discharge device of the present invention can be used as an ink jet printer.

[0034]
Here, the proportional relationship between the weight and the frequency holds true for fs. Therefore, in the feedback self-excited oscillation method based on fr, an error occurs in the relationship between weight and frequency. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 5A, when the load is small and G is large (while the resonance resistance R is small), the radius of the circle is large, so there is not much difference between the values of fs and fr. Absent. On the other hand, as shown in (b) of the figure, when the load increases and G becomes extremely small (R becomes large), both of them become large by deviation. For this reason, in the feedback self-excited oscillation method that measures fr as the resonance frequency, linearity deteriorates as the load increases. On the other hand, in the method of measuring fs by the external oscillation method as in the present embodiment, such linearity degradation does not occur.
[0035]
Further, when the load increases and the state becomes as shown in (c) of the figure, the fr point disappears, so that the conventional feedback self-oscillation method cannot oscillate. On the other hand, in the external oscillation system according to the present embodiment, fs is measured and thus there is no influence of the equivalent electrode capacitance Co. Therefore, even in this case, the resonance point can be found. That is, the external oscillation method of the present embodiment enables measurement with a heavy load as compared with the feedback self-excited oscillation method. Further, in the feedback self-excited oscillation method, it is necessary to tune the oscillation circuit according to the frequency to be used in order to obtain both stable and accurate oscillation. For this reason, it is difficult to cope with a wide range of oscillation frequencies with the same oscillation circuit. On the other hand, in the external oscillation system according to the present embodiment, since an oscillating voltage for oscillating the
