Abstract

なお、化合物(I)と化合物(II)との接合部を点接触ではなく、試料全体に二次元的に広がるように、すなわち平面的に作製すると、正孔と電子とを高効率で分離する作用によって、光電極として電流を発生させることができる高活性の光触媒を作製することができる。
化合物(I)として用いられる、ドナーをドープしたペロブスカイト型酸化物は、通常の固相法、すなわち原料となる各金属成分の酸化物または炭酸塩や硝酸塩等の塩類を目的組成で混合焼成することで合成されるが、これ以外の湿式法、水熱合成法あるいは気相法で合成してもよい。また、板あるいは棒状のチタン金属や合金を高温で酸化、またはアノード酸化、または過酸化水素を含む塩酸などの酸性水溶液中で酸化して、表面を結晶質および/または非晶質の酸化チタン若しくは水酸化チタンとした後、ドナー成分を含むアルカリ土類元素の酸化物または炭酸塩や硝酸塩等の塩類を塗布して焼成することで、チタン金属や合金の表面上に合成してもよい。さらには、ドナー成分を含む板あるいは棒状のチタン金属や合金を高温で酸化、またはアノード酸化、または過酸化水素を含む塩酸などの酸性水溶液中で酸化して、表面をドナー成分を含む結晶質および/または非晶質の酸化チタン若しくは水酸化チタンとした後、アルカリ土類元素の酸化物または炭酸塩や硝酸塩等の塩類を塗布して焼成して合成してもよい。表面を酸化チタン若しくは水酸化チタンとした後、アルカリ水溶液中に浸漬して水熱合成等により化合物(I)を作製することもできる。

(実施例1)
<リーチング処理したSr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ粉末の製造>
〔混合・焼結〕
原料としてSrCO3粉末の5.7002gと、TiO2粉末の2.9535gと、Nb2O5粉末の0.2570gとを用い、これらをジルコニア乳鉢で30分間混合し、ジルコニア製ポットとボールを用いた遊星ボールミルで、40分間エタノールを加えた湿式混合を行った。その後、大気中1100℃で10時間仮焼し、粉砕後、265MPaで直径17.2mmの円盤状に圧粉し、大気中1300℃で10時間焼結して、得られた焼結体をジルコニア乳鉢を用いて粉砕し、Sr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ粉末を得た。
上記で得られた粉末を、80〜95℃に保ったHNO3(1M)中で30分間リーチング処理し、ろ過した後、純水で2回洗浄し、室温で乾燥後、140℃で1時間乾燥して、リーチング処理した粉末状のSr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ光触媒試料を得た。
<リーチング処理した(Sr0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ粉末の製造>
原料としてSrCO3粉末の5.5593gと、TiO2粉末の3.1916gと、La2O3粉末の0.3226gとを用いた他は、実施例1と同様の方法にて混合、焼結、およびリーチング処理を行ない、リーチング処理した粉末状の(Sr0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ光触媒試料を得た。
<リーチング処理したBa(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ粉末の製造>
〔混合・焼結〕
原料としてBaCO3粉末の6.3152gと、TiO2粉末の2.4485gと、Nb2O5粉末の0.2131gとを用い、これらをジルコニア乳鉢で30分間混合し、ジルコニア製ポットとボールを用いた遊星ボールミルで40分間エタノールを加えた湿式混合を行った。その後、大気中1100℃で10時間仮焼し、粉砕後に265MPaで直径17.2mmの円盤状に圧粉し、大気中1300℃で10時間焼結した。得られた焼結体をジルコニア乳鉢を用いて粉砕して、Ba(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ粉末を得た。
上記で得られた粉末を、80〜95℃に保ったHNO3(1M)中で30分間リーチング処理し、ろ過した後、純水で2回洗浄し、室温で乾燥後、140℃で1時間乾燥して、リーチング処理した粉末状のBa(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ光触媒試料を得た。
<リーチング処理した(Ba0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ粉末>
原料としてBaCO3粉末の6.3152gと、TiO2粉末の2.4485gと、La2O3粉末の0.2131gとを用い、大気中での焼結温度を1200℃とした他は、実施例3と同様の方法で、混合、焼結、およびリーチング処理を行ない、リーチング処理した粉末状の(Ba0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ光触媒試料を得た。
<リーチング処理した(Sr0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ相で覆われたTi板>
〔酸化〕
表面をエメリー紙(400〜1000番)で機械研磨した片状Ti板を80℃に保った9M H2O2−0.1M HCl溶液に60分浸漬した後、純水で十分洗浄し、室温で乾燥後、140℃で1時間乾燥することにより、表面にアモルファス状の水酸化チタン皮膜を形成させた。
〔(Sr0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ相〕
その表面に、Sr(NO3)2粉末の8.50gとLaCl3・7H2Oの1.66gを15mlの純水に溶解した液を塗布して、Ar中、600℃で1時間、焼鈍することにより、Ti板表面を覆う(Sr0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ膜を得た。
上記で得られた板試料を80〜95℃に保ったHNO3(1M)中で30分間リーチング処理し、表面を純水で2回洗浄して、室温で乾燥後、140℃で1時間乾燥して、リーチング処理した(Sr0.95La0.05)TiO3+δ相で覆われたTi板を得た。その後、末端をやすりで磨き、その部分にPt線(直径0.3mm×長さ50mm)の末端を取りつけた後、残りの部分のPt線を板に巻きつけて、光触媒試料を得た。
<TiO2粉末を表面に析出させたTiO2―Sr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ複合粉末の製造>
実施例1の混合焼結で得られた粉末状のSr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δをジルコニア製ポットとボールを用いた遊星ボールミルで、40分間かけて更に細かく粉砕した。得られた粉末1gを80℃に保ったHNO3(1M)中に20分間分散し、放冷後、10mlのHNO3(1M)に0.2gのTiOSO4を溶解した液を加えて3分間攪拌し、アンモニア水(1M)を約70ml滴下してpH8に調整した。その生成物をろ過した後、純水で2回洗浄し、室温で乾燥後、600℃で1時間焼成することで、粉末状のアナターゼ型TiO2で覆われたペロブスカイト型Sr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δである、粉末状のTiO2―Sr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ複合体を得た。
<アナターゼ型TiO2粉末>
硫酸チタニル溶液を用い、アンモニアをアルカリ処理溶液として水酸化物の沈殿を生成させ、かつ、この沈殿物を、大気中、600℃で1時間の条件で焼成処理して、粉末状のアナターゼ型の酸化チタンからなる光触媒試料を得た。
<SrTiO3粉末>
原料としてSrCO3粉末の5.8622gと、TiO2粉末の3.1973gとを用い、実施例1と同様の方法で混合、焼結を行ない、粉末状のSrTiO3光触媒試料を得た。
<Sr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ粉末>
リーチング処理を行なわない他は実施例1と同様の原料および方法にて、粉末状のSr(Ti0.95Nb0.05)O3+δ光触媒試料を得た。
<リーチング処理したSrTiO3粉末>
比較例2で得られたSrTiO3粉末試料を、80〜95℃に保ったHNO3(1M)中で30分間リーチング処理し、ろ過した後、純水で2回洗浄し、室温で乾燥後、140℃で1時間乾燥して、リーチング処理した粉末状のSrTiO3光触媒試料を得た。なお、上記の実施例および比較例に用いた原料は以下の通りである。SrCO3粉末は、株式会社レアメタリック製で、純度99.99%、ig−lossは0.083%である。TiO2粉末は、株式会社レアメタリック製で、純度99.99%、ig−lossは0.893%である。Nb2O5粉末は、株式会社高純度科学研究所製で、純度99.9%、ig−lossは0.248%である。La2O3粉末は、和光純薬株式会社製で、純度99.9%、ig−lossは0%である。BaCO3粉末は、株式会社レアメタリック製で、純度99.99%、ig−lossは0.059%である。片状Ti板は、三津和化学薬品株式会社製で、純度99.9%、サイズは8mm×8mm×2mmである。
製造された実施例1〜6および比較例1〜4の光触媒試料の触媒活性評価は、メチレンブルー(MB)水溶液の光ブリーチング法を用いて行った。メチレンブルー水溶液と、実施例1〜6および比較例1〜4の光触媒試料とを同一容器に入れ、光を照射し、光触媒効果によるメチレンブルーの分解の程度を分光光度計で調べた。
メチレンブルー(関東化学株式会社製、試薬特級)の7.48mgを精秤し、全量をメスフラスコを用いて1リットルの超純水(比抵抗18.2MΩcm以上)に溶解し、2.0×10-5mol・dm-3の水溶液を作製した。
図3は光照射実験装置の概略図である。光源は、下方照射型500WのXeランプ、フィルターは、L42カットフィルターを使用し、ビーム径約20mmで、波長λ>420nmの光(可視光)を照射した。なお、分光光度計は、日立製作所製、U4000分光光度計を用いた。
分光光度計(日立製作所製、U4000分光光度計)を用い、拡散反射法によって、実施例5以外の実施例および比較例に係る粉末状の光触媒試料について光吸収スペクトルを測定し、光触媒試料の可視光領域での光吸収の状態を調べた。結果を図5に示す。図5は、実施例1〜4、実施例6および比較例1〜4に係る光触媒試料における光波長と光吸収との関係を示すグラフ図である。表1は、実施例1〜6、比較例1〜4の組成と触媒活性評価結果および試料の可視光吸収性を示すものである。
Claims (18)
- ドナーをドープした半導体または導電体である化合物(I)と、光触媒特性を有するn型伝導の化合物半導体である化合物(II)とを接合した化合物複合体を含み、前記化合物(II)の少なくとも一部が反応系に接しており、前記化合物(I)と前記化合物(II)との接合部領域において、前記化合物(II)中の電位が前記化合物(I)中の電位に対して負となる拡散電位を生じ、前記拡散電位により化合物複合体中において光励起された正孔と電子を分離することを特徴とする、可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)および前記化合物(II)が金属元素と非金属元素との化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)が、少なくとも陽イオンサイトにドナーをドープした半導体または導電体であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)の可視光域における吸光度は前記化合物(II)の可視光域における吸光度よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)中のドナー濃度が前記化合物(II)中のドナー濃度よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)は、前記化合物(II)よりも大きな電気伝導度を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)が、次の組成式(i)で表されるペロブスカイト型酸化物であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
(A2+ 1-xC3+ x)(B4+ 1-yD5+ y)(O1-zEz)3+δ (i)
(但し、0≦x≦0.2、0≦y≦0.2、0≦z≦0.1、かつx+y≧0.001、および0≦δ≦0.2であり、A、B、C、D、Eはそれぞれ1種以上の元素である) - 前記化合物(II)が、次の組成式(ii)で表される酸化物であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
(A2+ 1-xC3+ x)(B4+ 1-yD5+ y)n(O1-zEz)(2n+1)(1+δ/2) (ii)
(但し、1<n≦∞(nは整数とは限らない)、0≦x≦0.2、0≦y≦0.2、0≦z≦0.1、かつx+y≧0、および0≦δ<0.15であり、A、B、C、D、Eはそれぞれ1種以上の元素である) - 前記組成式(i)および前記組成式(ii)において、Aは1種以上のアルカリ土類元素、BはTiまたはTiおよびZr、Cはランタノイド元素から選択された1種以上の元素、Dはバナジウム、Nb、Taから選択された1種以上の元素、Eは窒素、硫黄、炭素から選択された1種以上の元素であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記組成式(i)および前記組成式(ii)において、AはSr、Baから選択された1種以上の元素、BはTiまたはTiおよびZr、CはLa、Dはバナジウム、Nb、Taから選択された1種以上の元素、Eは窒素、硫黄、炭素から選択された1種以上の元素であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)が、次の組成式(iii)で表されるペロブスカイト型酸化物であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
(A2+ 1-xC3+ x)(B4+ 1-yD5+ y)O3+δ (iii)
(但し、0≦x≦0.2、0≦y≦0.2、かつx+y≧0.001、および0≦δ≦0.2であり、A、B、C、Dはそれぞれ1種以上の元素である) - 前記化合物(II)が、次の組成式(iv)で表される酸化物であることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
(A2+ 1-xC3+ x)(B4+ 1-yD5+ y)nO(2n+1)(1+δ/2) (iv)
(但し、1<n≦∞(nは整数とは限らない)、0≦x≦0.2、0≦y≦0.2、かつx+y≧0、および0≦δ<0.15であり、A、B、C、Dはそれぞれ1種以上の元素である) - 前記組成式(iii)および前記組成式(iv)において、Aは1種以上のアルカリ土類元素、BはTiまたはTiおよびZr、Cはランタノイド元素から選択された1種以上の元素、Dはバナジウム、Nb、Taから選択された1種以上の元素であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記組成式(iii)および前記組成式(iv)において、AはSr、Baから選択された1種以上の元素、BはTiまたはTiおよびZr、CはLa、Dはバナジウム、Nb、Taから選択された1種以上の元素であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(II)が、ルチル型、アナターゼ型、ブルッカイト型の結晶質および非晶質のいずれか、またはこれらの2種以上が混合された酸化チタン、あるいは、これらの酸化チタンにバナジウム、Nb、Ta、窒素、硫黄、炭素から選択された1種以上の元素が含有された化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1〜14のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)と前記化合物(II)との接合部が、前記化合物(I)の表面を酸性水溶液でリーチングして前記化合物(II)を析出させることにより得られていることを特徴とする請求項1〜15のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 前記化合物(I)が、チタン表面の結晶質および/または非晶質の酸化チタン若しくは水酸化チタンまたはチタン合金表面の結晶質および/または非晶質の酸化チタン若しくは水酸化チタンと、アルカリ土類塩を含む溶液またはアルカリ土類元素を含む溶液との反応により形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜16のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
- 光化学電池の光電極として電流を発生させることを特徴とする請求項1〜17のいずれかに記載の可視光域でも触媒活性を有する光触媒。
