Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a water-based metallic color ink which is mainly used in a marking pen or the like and gives a writing line having a metallic luster.
Conventionally, gold-based or silver-colored water-based inks for marking pens in which a metal pigment is dispersed in water are known. For example, JP-A-63-072771, JP-A-63-095277, JP-A-09-165545. No. has been proposed. Aluminum pigments are mainly used for these water-based inks, and non-leafing type or leafing type aluminum pigments are used.
The non-leafing type has excellent adhesion (peeling resistance) because scale-like aluminum particles are dispersed in the ink film without floating on the surface of the ink film constituting the writing line, and a complementary color pigment is added. Although there is an advantage that the coloring effect in some cases can be easily obtained, there is a disadvantage that it is slightly inferior in terms of concealment because it easily transmits light.
On the other hand, the leafing type has excellent concealment because the scaly aluminum particles float and arrange on the surface of the ink coating, but therefore the adhesion (peeling resistance) of the particles on the surface is poor, and a complementary color pigment is added. However, since it is hidden by the aluminum particles arranged on the surface of the ink coating film, there is a drawback that the coloring effect by the complementary color pigment is hardly obtained. Therefore, it is possible to use an ink in which the amount of the leafing type aluminum pigment is reduced so that the complementary color pigment can be visually recognized from between the aluminum particles. However, since the hiding power is deteriorated, there is a drawback that the base can be seen through. .
For these reasons, it has been difficult to produce a water-based metallic color ink having both beautiful colors, vivid metallic luster and hiding properties.
In addition, an aluminum pigment-containing water-based ink could not be put into practical use without solving problems such as precipitation of aluminum pigment over time, corrosion due to the action of water, discoloration, and generation of hydrogen gas.
The present invention is to provide a water-based metallic color ink that is excellent in color developability, glitter, and concealability, suppresses precipitation of an aluminum pigment, and is excellent in ink stability over time.
An aqueous metallic color ink comprising at least a non-leafing type aluminum pigment, a leafing type aluminum pigment, an alkali-soluble emulsion thickener, and water. Non-leafing type aluminum pigment: leafing type aluminum pigment = 3 -10: 1 ratio, and the total of non-leafing type aluminum pigment and leafing type aluminum pigment: Alkali-soluble emulsion thickener = 2-10: 1 A water-based metallic color ink.
The present invention can provide an aqueous metallic color ink that not only has excellent color developability, glitter, and concealment properties, but also has excellent adhesion to aluminum pigments. In addition, since precipitation of aluminum pigment can be suppressed, an aqueous metallic color ink that has excellent ink stability over time and does not cause problems such as corrosion, discoloration, and generation of hydrogen gas due to the action of water is obtained. be able to.
Hereinafter, the best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described.
Non-leafing type aluminum pigments and leafing type aluminum pigments are known as aluminum pigments used in ordinary writing instruments. However, in the present invention, both are used in a specific ratio, and the non-leafing type aluminum pigment is used. : Leafing type aluminum pigment = 3 to 10: 1 ratio. In other words, it means that 3 to 10 times the non-leafing type aluminum pigment is used with respect to the leafing type aluminum pigment.
The non-leafing type aluminum pigment and the leafing type aluminum pigment are mainly fine particles having an average particle diameter of less than 20 μm. After the surface treatment of the aluminum pigment with a higher fatty acid in advance, aliphatic carbonization such as mineral spirits is performed. A paste obtained by mixing and dispersing in a medium comprising a glycol ether solvent such as hydrogen or polyoxyethylene alkyl ether with a ball mill or the like is preferably used from the viewpoint of safety. For making a paste, a dry method or a wet method as described in JP-A-55-99970 is usually used. In particular, a paste made of a medium such as aluminum fine particles, oleic acid and mineral spirits and a surfactant becomes a non-leafing type aluminum pigment paste, and a medium such as aluminum fine particles, stearic acid and mineral spirits and a surfactant are pasted. The resulting product becomes a leafing type aluminum pigment paste and is preferably used in the present invention.
The total of the non-leafing type aluminum pigment and the leafing type aluminum pigment is used in the range of 1.0 to 20.0% by weight, preferably 2.0 to 10.0% by weight, based on the total amount of the ink.
In the present invention, a commercially available aluminum pigment paste can be used. Specifically, as the non-leafing type, Alpaste 1500MA, Alpaste WXM7640, Alpaste WE7640, Alpaste WJD7640, Alpaste WJE7640 (above, trade name: Toyo Aluminum Co., Ltd.), AW-600, AW-500B, AW-520B, AW-666C, AW-808C, AW-7000R (above, trade name: Asahi Kasei Co., Ltd.), leafing type Examples include Alpaste 0500M, WB0700, WS0700 (above, trade name: manufactured by Toyo Aluminum Co., Ltd.), and the like.
In the present invention, since the non-leafing type aluminum pigment is blended 3 to 10 times with respect to the leafing type aluminum pigment, a large amount of the non-leafing type aluminum pigment is dispersed in the ink coating film, and a small amount of the leafing type aluminum pigment is formed. The non-leafing type aluminum pigment can assist the concealability and glitter of the leafing type aluminum pigment because it is present on the surface of the ink coating. In addition, when complementary color pigments, which will be described later, are added to obtain color types other than silver, such as gold and copper, complementary color pigments can be recognized from among the leafing type aluminum pigments present on the surface of the ink coating. It is possible to have both beautiful colors, vivid metallic luster and concealment.
Although not essential for the present invention, a complementary color pigment can be added in order to obtain a color type other than silver, such as gold and copper. As the complementary color pigment, conventionally known organic pigments and inorganic pigments can be used alone or in combination. For example, azo-based, phthalocyanine-based, quinacridone-based, anthraquinone-based, dioxazine-based, indigo / thioindigo-based, verinone / berylene Organic pigments such as those based on carbon, isoindolenone, and azomethylene azo, inorganic pigments such as carbon black and titanium white, fluorescent pigments, colored resin emulsions, and pearl pigments. These pigments are usually kneaded into polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, styrene-acrylic acid copolymers, and their metal salts, ammonium salts, amine salts, and other known resins as processed pigments. It is convenient because it is easily dispersed when mixed with a solvent. Further, a commercially available processed pigment in which a pigment is already kneaded in a dispersant may be used. Specifically, MICROLITH Yellow 3G-WA, MICROLITH Yellow 2R-WA, MICROLITH Scarlet R-WA, MICROLITH Blue 4G ( As mentioned above, manufactured by Ciba Specialty Chemicals Co., Ltd.), EM YELLOW FX-3024, EM SCARLET 2YD, EM GREEN G, EM PINK 2B, EM BLUE 2G (above, manufactured by Toyo Ink Co., Ltd.), SANDY SUPER YELLOW 1608, Examples include SANDY SUPER YELLOW D215, SANDY SUPER BLUE GLL, and SANDY SUPER CARMINE FB (manufactured by Sanyo Dye Co., Ltd.).
These pigments can be used alone or in combination, taking into account the desired color, and are used in the range of 0.1 to 10.0% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 8.0% by weight, based on the total amount of ink. It is done.
The alkali-soluble emulsion thickener used in the present invention is an emulsion which, when neutralized with an alkali agent, changes to a colorless, transparent and thixotropic viscous aqueous solution, which is polyacrylic acid, styrene-acrylic acid And emulsions such as copolymerization, styrene-maleic acid ester copolymer, acrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymer, etc., and specifically, Nippon LX860 (trade name: manufactured by Nippon Zeon Co., Ltd.), Primal RX- 5, ASE-60 (trade name: manufactured by Rohm and Haas Co., Ltd.), Almatex E-3370 (trade name: manufactured by Mitsui Toatsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), Movinyl LDM7010 (trade name: Clariant Polymer Co., Ltd.) NIKASOLVT-253A (trade name: manufactured by Nippon Carbide Co., Ltd.), Polysol AT2040 And the like can be mentioned Showa High Polymer Co., Ltd.).
The alkali-soluble emulsion thickener can be blended in an amount of 0.1 to 2.0% by weight in terms of solid content.
Moreover, in this invention, it mix | blends in the ratio of the sum total of a non-leafing type aluminum pigment and a leafing type aluminum pigment: alkali-soluble emulsion type | system | group thickener = 2-10: 1. In other words, it means that the total of the aluminum pigment is used 2 to 10 times the solid content of the alkali-soluble emulsion thickener.
Among the many thickeners such as xanthan gum, especially by adding the alkali-soluble emulsion thickener in the above ratio, it prevents corrosion of the aluminum pigment and at the same time corrodes by the action of the aluminum pigment and water. It was found that long-term stability of the ink was secured. If the amount of the alkali-soluble emulsion thickener is less than this ratio, the aluminum pigment will immediately settle out, making it impossible to store for a long time in the state of the product filled with ink on the writing instrument. When the amount of the solution-type emulsion thickener is larger than this ratio, the ink is too thick and lacks fluidity, and the ink does not flow out from the pen core or ballpoint pen tip of the writing instrument.
