【発明が解決しようとする課題】
特許文献1,2に記載の従来技術では、ワークに対して上方からしかアプローチできないものであった。そのために、膨張体が外側に膨らむタイプのものでは、ワークの口径以下に設計しなければならず、膨張体が内側に膨らむタイプのものでは、膨張体の内径以上の大きさのワークをつかむことはできず、ワークの大きさに合わせて設計しなければならなかった。また、ワークが正面T字型のように上部にフランジを有するものでは、フランジよりも下の部分をつかむのが不可能あるいは困難であった。

上述の目的を達成するため、この発明は、枠体の一部が切り欠かれた開口部を有する枠状ガイドと、この枠状ガイドの内周面中少なくともお互いに向き合う面に存在するように取付けられた膨張体とを備え、この膨張体を筒状に形成して、この筒状内部へ流体の給排を行って膨張収縮を図り、膨張時に膨張面でワークを把持するものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下にこの発明の好適な実施形態を図面を参照にして説明する。

図1及び図2に示す実施形態は、枠体2の一部が切り欠かれた開口部3を有する枠状ガイド1と、この枠状ガイド1の内周面に取付けられた筒状の膨張体4とを備え、この膨張体4の筒状内部へエア等の流体の給排を行って膨張収縮を図り、膨張体4の膨張時にその膨張面でワークを把持するようになっている。前記枠状ガイド1の平面形状はコ字型に形成され、金属、プラスチック等の硬質材料から成形される。また、枠状ガイド1の内周面には筒状の膨張体4がセットされる溝5を形成し、この溝5内にセットされた膨張体4の一部分を内側へ膨張できないように防止部材6を溝5の一部分を塞ぐように設けてある。この防止部材6で塞がれない膨張体4の部分は、互いに向き合うように配置された部分である。図1の実施形態では、コ字型の枠状ガイド1の互いに平行な部分に存在する膨張体4の部分が内側に膨張し、コ字型の平行な部分を連結する部分に防止部材6を設けてこの部分の膨張体4は内側へ膨張しないようになっている。この実施形態では、1本の筒状膨張体4をコ字状の溝5に沿ってセットしたが、2本の膨張体4を枠状ガイド1の互いに平行な部分の内周面に形成された溝5にのみ取付けることも可能である。

前記筒状の膨張体4としては、ゴム製チューブが好適に用いられ、その両端を硬質筒部(金属製リング等)4A,4Bに固着し、これら硬質筒部4A,4Bを利用して枠状ガイド1に膨張体4を取付けてある。また、膨張体4の一端側には、流体の給排を行うための流体給排口7と給排管8を接続してあり、膨張体4の他端側は封止されていることは勿論である。2本以上の膨張体4を用いるときは、夫々の膨張体4に流体給排口7を設ける。また、膨張体4に補強糸を埋め込んで膨張量を調整したり、高い膨張圧力に耐えるように強度アップを図ることもできる。

図3は、図1及び図2に示す把持装置を2ヶ用いて、長方形あるいは正方形等の板状のワークWを左右両側からつかんだ状態を示す。枠状ガイド1の開口部3をワークWの側方から近づけ、この開口部3からワークWを枠状ガイド1内へ導き入れ、膨張体4を膨張させてその膨張面でワークWの上下面を圧接してワークWをつかむ。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように、この発明によれば、枠体の一部が切り欠かれた開口部を有する枠状ガイドと、この枠状ガイドの内周面中少なくともお互いに向き合う面に存在するように取付けられた膨張体とを備え、この膨張体を筒状に形成して、この筒状内部へ流体の給排を行って膨張収縮を図り、膨張時に膨張面でワークを把持するようにしたので、ワークを開口部から枠状ガイド内へ導き入れ、膨張体を膨張させることでワークを把持することで、上方のみならず側方からもワークにアプローチでき、種々の形状のワークをつかむことができる。また、膨張した膨張体でワークをソフトにつかむことができる。さらに、所定の形状のみならず、大きさや形の違う数種類のワークに1種類の形状、構造の把持装置で対応することもできる。
