Claims (20)
- 人間又は動物の胸部の目標領域から物質を除去するための装置であって、この装置が、 ハンドピースと、
近位端部分をハンドピースに結合すべく構成され、遠位先端部開口を人間又は動物の胸部の目標領域に配置すべく構成されてなるカニューレと、
回転エネルギーの源に結合すべく構成された回転要素であって、少なくとも一部分がカニューレの内部に配置され、少なくとも胸部の目標領域からカニューレの内部へと物質を引き込むことを助けるように構成されてなる上記回転要素と、
を備えていることを特徴とする装置。 - 回転要素とカニューレとは協働して吸引源を形成し、回転要素の回転に応答して、胸部の目標領域からカニューレの内部へと物質を引き込むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- その他の吸引ないし吸込み源を含んでいないことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の装置。
- 回転要素は、シャフトと、1又は複数の外方へ延在してなる突起とを含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 1又は複数の外方へ延在してなる突起は、実質的に螺旋の形態を有していることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の装置。
- 回転要素は、カニューレの遠位先端部開口から延出してなる遠位部分を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 回転要素の遠位部分は、実質的に螺旋の形態を有してなる、1又は複数の外方へ延在してなる突起を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。
- 回転要素は、カニューレの遠位先端部開口から延出してなるシャフト部分を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。
- 回転要素は、カニューレの遠位先端部開口から約0.02インチ〜約1インチの範囲の長さだけ延出しているような遠位部分を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- カニューレは約5mm未満の外径を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- カニューレは約2mm未満の外径を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- カニューレの遠位先端部開口は、カニューレの長手軸線に対して斜面になっているか、又は、実質的に垂直になっていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- カニューレに連通してなる収集チャンバをさらに備え、カニューレを通り抜けた物質を収容すべく構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 収集チャンバは、人間又は動物の胸部から除去された物質を計量するのが容易なように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の装置。
- カニューレは、手作業で変形可能に構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 回転要素に回転を提供すべく、回転要素に結合されてなるモータをさらに備えていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 人間又は動物の胸部の目標領域から組織を除去するための装置であって、この装置が、 ハンドピースと、
外径が約5mm未満であるカニューレであって、近位端部分をハンドピースに結合すべく構成され、遠位先端部開口を人間又は動物の胸部の目標領域に配置すべく構成されてなる上記カニューレと、
カニューレと協働すべく構成され、回転要素の回転に応答して組織を遠位先端部開口に引き込むような回転要素であって、シャフトと、カニューレの遠位先端部開口から延出してなる遠位部分と、回転エネルギー源に結合される近位端部分とを含んでいる上記回転要素と、
を備えていることを特徴とする装置。 - 回転要素とカニューレとは協働して吸引源を形成し、回転要素の回転に応答して、カニューレの内部へと胸部から組織を引き込むようなサイズと配置とになっていることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の装置。
- その他の吸引ないし吸込み源を含んでいないことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の装置。
- 動物(人間を除く)の身体から胸部を除去するための方法であって、この方法が、
遠位先端部開口を有していると共に、少なくとも一部分がカニューレの内部に配置されてなる回転要素を有しているようなカニューレを、動物の胸部の内部へ配置する段階と、
カニューレに対して回転要素を回転させて、少なくとも胸部からカニューレの遠位先端部開口へと物質を引き込むことを助けるような回転段階と、
を備えていることを特徴とする方法。
