Abstract

A method for prolonging service life of a machine for bending tubes comprises flame spraying a coating of less than 0.1 mm of molybdenum or molybdenum alloy to at least one surface of a fold smoothing tool.

管状物品曲げ加工機械を使用する曲げ加工においては、多くの場合、管状物品が固定され、その自由端を引き出すことによって曲げ加工されるが、材質の浮き上がりにより、曲げ加工部分の内側に褶曲(しわ)が発生しやすい。これを防止するために、褶曲形成を抑制するための加工用部材、すなわち褶曲矯正部材が使用される。この矯正用部材は、種々の形態が可能であり、場合により褶曲矯正曲面体あるいは褶曲矯正シューと称せられる。それが塑性変形区域の内部において、管状物品を現に折り曲げ加工されている部分の方向に支持する。曲げ加工の際には、管状物品は褶曲矯正部材によって大きな押圧力を受けながら延伸されるので、褶曲矯正部材において、かなりの摩耗が発生する。この褶曲矯正部材における摩耗を防止するために、管状物品は、アルミニウム青銅、ベリリウム青銅その他類似の青銅系の材質を付加することによって保護される。しかもなお褶曲矯正部材は、極度に損傷を受けるので、かなり頻繁に新品に置換される必要がある。例えばモリブデン賦滑剤あるいは亜硝酸チタンならびにカルボン亜硝酸チタン等の潤滑剤の使用も試みられているが、いずれも耐用期間の延長には殆ど役立たないことが知られる。

曲げ加工に際しては、円柱状部材、ロール部材、案内補助部材、母型および案内帯条が必要であり、これらは頻繁に新品に置換される必要はないとはいえ、強力な負荷の作用も受ける。
