Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric ceramic containing no Pb and a piezoelectric ceramic element configured using the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In a piezoelectric ceramic element forming a resonator such as a filter or an oscillator, the element body is formed of a piezoelectric ceramic.
[0003]
As the piezoelectric ceramic described above, for example, the general formula: Pb (Ti x Zr 1- x) as a main component of lead titanate represented by lead zirconate titanate or PbTiO 3 having a composition represented by O 3 Is widely used. Recently, piezoelectric ceramics not using Pb have been developed. For example, piezoelectric ceramics mainly containing a bismuth layered compound such as CaBi 4 Ti 4 O 15 and JP-A-2002-68836 (patent) A piezoelectric ceramic having a composition represented by the general formula (Ag, Li) (Nb, Ta) O 3 as described in Document 1) as a main component has been proposed.

[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-2002-68836
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, each of the piezoelectric ceramics described above has a problem to be solved.
[0006]
First, a piezoelectric ceramic mainly composed of lead zirconate titanate or lead titanate contains Pb, and thus has an adverse effect on the environment during production or disposal. Further, in the manufacturing process, a lead compound such as a lead oxide is generally used, but the evaporation of the lead compound may impair the uniformity of the composition of the obtained piezoelectric ceramic.
[0007]
Then, piezoelectric ceramic mainly composed of a bismuth layer compound, for the electromechanical coupling coefficient k 33 is as small as about 20%, not come to be subjected to practical use widely.
[0008]
Next, in the piezoelectric ceramic described in
[0009]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a piezoelectric ceramic and a piezoelectric ceramic element using the same, which can solve the above-described problems.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention has a composition represented by the general formula: (Ag 1-x-y-z Li x Na y K z ) NbO 3 as a main component in order to solve the above-described technical problem. 0.075 ≦ x <0.4, 0 ≦ y <0.4, and 0.03 ≦ z <0.2.
[0011]
The piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention preferably contains at least one of a Mn oxide and a Si oxide as a subcomponent. In this case, at least one of the Mn oxide and the Si oxide is contained in an amount of 5 parts by weight or less in terms of MnO 2 and SiO 2 , respectively, based on 100 parts by weight of the above-mentioned main component. Is preferred.
[0012]
The present invention is also directed to a piezoelectric ceramic element including an element main body constituted by a piezoelectric ceramic and an electrode formed in association with the element main body. A piezoelectric ceramic element according to the present invention is characterized in that the element main body is constituted by the piezoelectric ceramic as described above.

[0021]
The piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention is not limited to a vibrator having an element
[0022]
The piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention has, as a main component, a composition represented by a general formula: (Ag 1-x-y-z Li x Na y K z ) NbO 3 . In the above general formula, x is selected in a range of 0.075 ≦ x <0.4, y is selected in a range of 0 ≦ y <0.4, and z is 0.03 ≦ z < 0.2 is selected.
[0023]
As described above, x is selected to be in the range of 0.075 ≦ x <0.4. When x <0.075, the transition temperature (polarization extinction temperature) becomes less than 350 ° C., When x ≧ 0.4, the resonance frequency constant becomes smaller than 2000 Hz / m, and the polarization process becomes difficult.
[0024]
The reason why y is selected in the range of 0 ≦ y <0.4 is that when y ≧ 0.4, the transition temperature is lower than 350 ° C.
[0025]
Further, the reason why z is selected in the range of 0.03 ≦ z <0.2 is that when z <0.03, the transition temperature is less than 350 ° C. On the other hand, when z ≧ 0.2, This is because sintering becomes difficult, which causes polarization processing to become difficult.
[0026]
X as described above, if to meet the conditions for each of y and z, the electromechanical coupling coefficient k 33 is set to 20% or more, and the transition temperature can be 350 ° C. or higher.
[0027]
The piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention preferably contains at least one of a Mn oxide and a Si oxide as a subcomponent. If a raw material composition for a piezoelectric ceramic is prepared so as to contain at least one of these Mn oxides and Si oxides, the firing temperature for obtaining the piezoelectric ceramic can be lowered.
[0028]
Regarding the respective contents of the above-mentioned Mn oxide and Si oxide, the Mn oxide is converted to MnO 2 at 5 parts by weight or less or the Si oxide is converted to SiO 2 at 100 parts by weight of the main component. Is preferably 5 parts by weight or less. With such a content, characteristics obtained when neither Mn oxide nor Si oxide is contained are not substantially deteriorated.
[0029]
The piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention may be a solid solution or a mixture of solid solutions, and may be a polycrystal or a single crystal.
[0030]
The piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention can be manufactured by a method similar to that of a ferroelectric or dielectric ceramic.
[0031]
To explain one example, powders of, for example, Ag 2 O, Nb 2 O 5 , Li 2 CO 3 , Na 2 CO 3 and K 2 CO 3 are prepared as starting materials, and these raw material powders are mixed at a predetermined composition ratio. Formulate so that
[0032]
Next, the prepared raw material powder is mixed in a solvent such as water or ethanol using a medium such as zirconia balls for 4 to 24 hours. At this time, a dispersant such as sorbitan ester may be added to enable more uniform mixing.
[0033]
Next, the slurry obtained by the above mixing is dried and calcined at a temperature of 800 to 1100 ° C. for 1 to 24 hours in an oxidizing atmosphere using, for example, an electric furnace.
[0034]
Next, the obtained calcined product is ground and mixed with a binder such as polyvinyl alcohol in a solvent such as water or ethanol using a medium, and then dried.
[0035]
Next, the obtained dry powder is formed into a predetermined shape by, for example, a uniaxial press or the like, and the formed body is fired in an oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature of 950 to 1200 ° C. for 3 to 10 hours. Can be obtained. It should be noted that the piezoelectric ceramic after firing is subjected to a polarization treatment in order to exhibit piezoelectric characteristics.
[0036]
Next, a description will be given of an experimental example carried out to determine the composition range of the piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention.
[0037]
[Experimental example 1]
Powders of Ag 2 O, Nb 2 O 5 , Li 2 CO 3 , Na 2 CO 3, and K 2 CO 3 were prepared as starting materials, and were mixed so as to have a composition ratio as shown in Table 1. .
[0038]
[Table 1]
[0039]
In Table 1, those with * added to the sample numbers are samples outside the scope of the present invention.
[0040]
Next, the prepared powder of each sample shown in Table 1 was calcined at an appropriate temperature in the range of 850 to 1100 ° C. for 10 hours in an oxidizing atmosphere using an electric furnace, whereby A calcined powder according to the sample was obtained.
[0041]
Next, after crushing the calcined powder according to each sample, 5 parts by weight of polyvinyl alcohol was added to and mixed with 100 parts by weight of the calcined powder, and then the powder obtained by drying the mixture was used. Using a uniaxial press (1 GPa), it was formed into a prism-shaped formed body having a length and width of 12 mm and a thickness of about 2.5 mm.
[0042]
Next, the compact according to each sample was fired in an oxidizing atmosphere at each temperature shown in the column of “firing temperature” in Table 1 to obtain a piezoelectric ceramic.
[0043]
Next, an Ag paste was applied to the end face of the piezoelectric ceramic according to each of the obtained samples, and baked at a temperature of 800 ° C. Thereafter, in an insulating oil bath, a DC voltage of 50 to 200 kV / cm was applied to the piezoelectric ceramic at a temperature of room temperature to 150 ° C. for 3 to 10 minutes to perform a polarization treatment. Next, the piezoelectric ceramic after the polarization treatment was cut into a prism having a size of 2 mm × 2 mm × 3 mm by a dicing machine.

[Experimental example 2]
As in the case of Experimental Example 1, powders of Ag 2 O, Nb 2 O 5 , Li 2 CO 3 , Na 2 CO 3 and K 2 CO 3 were prepared as starting materials, and the composition as shown in Table 3 was obtained. These were blended so as to have a ratio, and the obtained blended powder was calcined at an appropriate temperature in the range of 900 to 1200 ° C. for 10 hours in an oxidizing atmosphere using an electric furnace, to obtain a calcined product. By crushing, a calcined powder for the main component of each sample was obtained.
[0050]
Next, MnO 2 and SiO 2 powders were further prepared as raw material powders for the subcomponents, and as shown in Table 3, MnO 2 and / or SiO 2 powders were added to the above-mentioned calcined powder. In Table 3, the “addition amount of MnO 2 ” and the “addition amount of SiO 2 ” are parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of (Ag 1-xyz Li x Na y K z ) NbO 3 as a main component. Indicated by.
[0051]
[Table 3]
[0052]
In each of the samples shown in Table 3, x, y, and z defining the composition ratio of the main component are all within the scope of the present invention. In Table 3, samples with a triangle in the sample number are samples out of the preferred range with respect to the added amounts of MnO 2 and SiO 2 as accessory components.
[0053]
Next, a method similar to that of Experimental Example 1 was applied to the mixed powder of each sample to which MnO 2 and / or SiO 2 powder was added as described above, while applying the “calcination temperature” shown in Table 3. Thus, a piezoelectric ceramic for each sample was manufactured.
[0054]
Next, the same evaluation as in the case of Experimental Example 1 was performed on the piezoelectric ceramics of each sample. Table 4 shows the evaluation results.
[0055]
[Table 4]
[0056]
In Table 4, those with a sample number marked with a triangle are, as described above, samples that deviate from the preferred ranges for the respective added amounts of MnO 2 and SiO 2 .
[0057]
In addition, comparing the composition ratios of the main components between each sample shown in Table 3 and each sample shown in Table 1, the samples 18 and 19 shown in Table 3 are similar to the sample 3 shown in Table 1. Where samples 20 and 21 are similar to
[0058]
Comparing the sintering temperature between each sample shown in Table 3 and each sample shown in Table 1 having the above correspondence, when the composition ratios of the main components are the same, MnO 2 and / or It can be seen that each of the samples shown in Table 3 to which SiO 2 was added can lower the firing temperature as compared with each sample shown in Table 1 to which these were not added.
[0059]
Further, among the samples shown in Table 4, according to Samples 18, 19, 21 to 24 and 26 to 29 satisfying the condition of 5 parts by weight or less with respect to the added amount of MnO 2 and / or SiO 2 , MnO 2 and SiO 2 In comparison with the corresponding samples shown in Table 2 to which none of the above was added, piezoelectric materials such as relative permittivity, electromechanical coupling coefficient k 33 , piezoelectric constant d 33 , resonance frequency constant and transition temperature (polarization extinction temperature) were obtained. There is no noticeable deterioration in properties. In particular, looking at the electromechanical coupling factor k 33 and transition temperatures, the former has a value of 20% or more, the latter represents a value greater than or equal to 350 ° C..
[0060]
On the other hand, in Samples 20, 25, 30, and 31 in which the added amount of MnO 2 exceeds 5 parts by weight or the added amount of SiO 2 exceeds 5 parts by weight, the transition temperature of 350 ° C. or more is obtained. although shown, the electromechanical coupling coefficient k 33 indicates a value below 20%.
[0061]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention, a composition contains no Pb, also increase the electromechanical coupling coefficient k 33 of 20% or more, and transition temperature (polarization loss temperature) of 350 ° C. or higher And can be higher. Therefore, if a piezoelectric ceramic element is formed using the piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a piezoelectric ceramic element having excellent piezoelectric characteristics and in which the piezoelectric characteristics are not easily deteriorated.
[0062]
In the piezoelectric ceramic according to the present invention, when at least one of the Mn oxide and the Si oxide is contained as a subcomponent, the firing temperature required for obtaining such a piezoelectric ceramic can be further reduced.
[0063]
In the above case, at least one of the Mn oxide and the Si oxide is contained in a range of 5 parts by weight or less in terms of MnO 2 and SiO 2 with respect to 100 parts by weight of the main component. Then, as compared with a piezoelectric ceramic that does not contain any of these Mn oxides and Si oxides, characteristics in terms of relative permittivity, electromechanical coupling coefficient k 33 , piezoelectric constant d 33 , resonance frequency constant and transition temperature are different. Can be prevented from being remarkably deteriorated.
