Abstract
【解決手段】源からのパルストレイン出力は、次に、線形分散素子(負の分散シフトファイバのセクションなど)に入力として加えられ、線形分散素子は、パルスの長さ全体で波長における連続的なシフトで、非常に短いパルスを「延伸する」機能を行い、パルスを時間において分離させる。

Claims (10)
- 光信号増幅のためのスイープされた波長のラマンポンプ源であって、
規定された波長に中心合わせされた非常に短い光パルスを生成する光パルストレイン信号源と、
前記パルストレインに負の分散を加え、隣接するパルスを重なり合わせるのに十分な所定の長さに、前記非常に短い光パルスのパルス幅を延伸するために、前記光パルストレイン信号源の出力に結合された線形分散素子とを備えることを特徴とするポンプ源 - 前記ポンプ源がさらに、所定のゲインレベルを作るために、前記線形分散素子の出力を整形するようにゲイン平坦化フィルタを備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記線形分散素子が、所定の長さの負の分散シフトファイバのセクションを備え、前記負の分散シフトファイバのセクションの長さが、前記非常に短いパルスに導入された延伸量に正比例することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記線形分散素子が、縦続接続されたファイバブラッグ格子を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記光パルストレイン信号源が、モードロックされてドープされたファイバ・レーザを備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記光パルストレイン信号源が、前記非常に短いパルス・トレインの中心波長を所定の波長領域に移動するために、高度な非線形性の分散シフト・ファイバのセクションをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記ポンプ源が、前記スイープされた波長の源の繰り返しレートを増加するために、前記線形分散素子の出力に結合された非平衡干渉計をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記非平衡干渉計が、前記干渉計の第1のアームに沿って配置された遅延素子を有するマッハツェンダー干渉計を備えることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記遅延素子が、所望の量の遅延を導入するために十分な長さの単一モード・ファイバのセクションを備えることを特徴とする請求項11に記載のポンプ源。
- 前記ポンプ源が、前記線形分散素子の出力を超えて配置された出力パワー増幅器をさらに備え、前記出力パワー増幅器が、ラマン増幅プロセスでの使用のために出力パワーを増大することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポンプ源。
