従来から、例えば図3に示すようなカップリング100に対し、その内径部101に表面処理が施されないように当該内径部101をマスクする方法として、同図に示すように、この内径部101に表面処理防止材(同図中の符号Aで示す)を塗布する方法が多用されており、この具体例として、表面処理を施したくない部分に液状のマスカント(有機溶剤に樹脂を溶解させたもので、塗布後乾燥することによって固体の膜になるもの)を塗布して乾燥・固化させる方法がある(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
また、図4に示すように、この内径部101に当該内径部101の上下方向から円錐台状のゴム栓102a,102bを差込み、このゴム栓102a,102bの上から表面処理防止材(同図中の符号Bで示す)を塗布する方法や、図5に示すように、この内径部101に適合するようなシリコン製パッキンの上型103a及び下型103bを当該内径部101に嵌入させ、上型103a及び下型103bを貫通するボルト104にナット105を螺着して締付ける方法などが用いられることもある。

しかしながら、上述した表面処理防止材を塗布する方法は、塗布や乾燥に時間を要し、内径部の塗布については、特に、その孔長が深い場合やその孔内壁に凹凸が多い場合には塗布作業が容易でなく塗布むらが生じ易くなるという不具合がある。また、内径部にゴム栓を差込む方法や単に上型及び下型を当該内径部に嵌入させてボルト・ナットで締付ける方法では、シール性に欠けるために、内径部に表面処理材が侵入して十分にマスクができないという不具合がある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するために、本発明の請求項1に係るマスカント工具は、部品に表面処理を施す際に、当該部品の内径部に表面処理が施されないように当該内径部をマスクするために用いるマスカント工具であって、マスクすべき内径部に連なる両端面にシリコンゴムまたはフッ素ゴム製パッキンをそれぞれ装着するとともに、これらパッキンのそれぞれの端面を覆うように上型と下型とで構成される締め具を重ね、当該締め具の上型と下型とを締め付けるものであり、これにより、内径部に連なる端面に対するシール性が良くなるので、内径部への表面処理材の侵入が阻止でき、しかも、上述のようにしてパッキンや締め具の上型と下型とを締め付けるだけのものであるので、塗布や乾燥に時間を要することもなく、また、内径部の孔長が深い場合や孔内壁に凹凸が多い場合にも塗布むらの発生を心配することなく簡便に、且つ、安価にマスクできる。
ここで、パッキンにシリコン材またはフッ素樹脂材を用いているのは、これらの材質が表面処理においてその環境に影響されないからである。

また、本発明の請求項2に係るマスカント工具は、上記締め具の一方に雄ネジを設け、この雄ネジと螺合する雌ネジを他方の締め具に設け、さらに両締め具の外表面に当該締め具を回転させる力を加える摘まみを設けたものであり、これにより、部品を増やさずに締め具を構成できるので、使い勝手が良好になる。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の実施の形態に係るマスカント工具を図1,2を参照して説明する。
本マスカント工具1は、図1に示すようなカップリング(部品)2の突出ボス3に形成された内径部3aに対して、表面処理が施されないようにするためのものであり、当該内径部3aに適合するように構成されている。
即ち、本マスカント工具1は、部品2の突出ボス3に形成された内径部3aに適合するように、図2に示すようなフッ素樹脂製締め具の上型4、シリコン製パッキンの上型5、シリコン製パッキンの下型6及びフッ素樹脂製締め具の下型7とで構成されている。

このうちフッ素樹脂製締め具の上型4は、その下端面からその中心軸に沿って所定深さにネジ孔4aが螺刻された短寸の円筒部材4aと、この円筒部材4aの上端面に固着された、当該円筒部材4aの外径より大きい外径を有する薄板状の円筒部材4bとで構成され、当該円筒部材4bの、上記円筒部材4aから突出した突出部4bが上型4の鍔部を形成する形態となっている。そして、円筒部材4aの外径は、当該円筒部材4aが上記突出ボス3の内径部3aに緩挿されるように当該内径部3aの孔径より僅かに小さくなっており、また、円筒部材4bの外径は、上記突出部4bが、本実施の形態では、突出ボス3の上端面(内径部に連なる端面)3b(図1参照)に着座できる大きさになっている。尚、円筒部材4bの上面には直径に等しい長さの角状の摘まみ4bが設けられている。

シリコン製パッキンの上型5は、上型4の突出部4bと突出ボス3の上端面3b間に介装される薄い断面四角状のリング部材であり、このリングの外径は、上型4の円筒部材4bの外径に略等しく、また、このリングの内径は、上型4の円筒部材4aの外径より僅かに大きく、これらリングの外径及び内径は、当該上型5が突出ボス3の端面3bに着座できる大きさになっている。

次に、本マスカント工具1の使用のしかたを説明する。
表面処理が施されないようにカップリング2の突出ボス3に形成された内径部3aをマスクするため、締め具の上型4を突出ボス3の内径部3aに、パッキンの上型5を緩挿する。これでパッキンの上型5が締め具の上型4と突出ボス3に挟まれた態様で突出ボス3の上端面3bに着座する。一方、突出ボス3の下端に形成された鍔3cの下端面3cに対しては、締め具の上型4の摘まみ4bを把持して回転しないようにし、パッキンの下型6を雄ネジ部7bに固定し、締め具の下型7に重ねた状態で当該下型7の摘まみ7aを回転させてその雄ネジ部7bを上型4のネジ孔4aに螺着させることにより、締め具の下型7をパッキンの下型6を介して下端面3cに当接させ、締め具の上型4と締め具の下型7間を圧着させる。

ところで、締め具の上型4のネジ孔4a及び締め具の下型7の雄ネジ部7bの部位を金属材で構成してもよい。また、このネジ孔4aと雄ネジ部7bの部位にインサート等を入れて強度を増すようにしてもよい。
また、締め具4、7やパッキン5,6にシリコンやフッ素を用いたのは、使用する化学材や温度の環境下で劣化しないからであり、その他のゴム材料でも劣化ぜず、適切な弾性があれば使用できる。

【発明の効果】
本発明のマスカント工具によれば、シリコン製パッキンの上型及び下型に重ねてフッ素樹脂製締め具の上型及び下型をそれぞれ装着した状態で締め付けると、内径部に連なる端面に対するシール性が良くなるので、内径部への表面処理材の侵入が阻止でき、しかも、パッキンや締め具の上型及び下型を締め付けるだけのものであるので、塗布や乾燥に時間を要することもなく、また、内径部の孔長が深い場合や孔内壁に凹凸が多い場合にも塗布むらの発生を心配することなく簡便に、且つ、安価にマスクできる。
