しかしながら、高性能な印刷装置とデジタルカメラは高価であることやその操作の習得が必要なことから、フォトスタジオへの導入は容易なものとはなっていない。また、印刷装置については、印刷枚数や消耗品の消費量などに応じて課金処理を行なう手法を採用することにより、導入の容易化は図れるものの、デジタルカメラについての導入の容易化を図ることは何ら提案されていない。なお、課金処理に関する技術としては複写機等の使用に関するものは種々提案されているが、デジタルカメラの使用に対するものについては見い出すことができない。

次に、本発明の実施の形態を実施例を用いて説明する。図1は、本発明の一実施例である情報管理装置30を含む印刷管理システム20の構成の概略を示す構成図である。実施例の情報管理装置30は、図示するように、ネットワーク22を介して接続されフォトスタジオに設置された複数の印刷装置50a,50bから消耗品の消費に関するデータ(以下、消耗品消費データという)や印刷装置50a,50bに接続された撮影装置60a,60bで撮影された撮影回数に関するデータ(以下、撮影関係データという)を定期的に取得し、消耗品消費データに基づいて各印刷装置50a,50bの印刷に対する課金処理を行なって各印刷装置50a,50b側に課金計算結果を通知すると共に消耗品消費データを各印刷装置50a,50bの消耗品の補充を管理する管轄管理サーバ40に転送し、撮影関係データに基づいて撮影装置60a,60bの撮影に対する課金処理を行なって各印刷装置50a,50b側および各撮影装置60a,60bを構成する各デジタルカメラの管理者のコンピュータ70a,70bに課金計算結果を通知する、情報管理サーバとして構成されており、消耗品消費データをデータベース化して記憶する消耗品消費データベース32と、撮影関係データをデータベース化して記憶する撮影関係データベース34とを備える。
