Abstract

【課題】　関節形成術で用いられる器具及びインプラントの利便性を向上させるキットを提供する。
【解決手段】　関節形成術で用いられるステム（１２）を長骨（３６）中に植え込む際に用いられるキット（１０）が提供される。キット（１０）は、長骨（３６）中へ植え込まれるステム（１２）と、セメントリストリクタ（１６）と、或る量の骨用セメント（２０）とから成っている。

Description

　本発明は一般に、整形外科の分野に関し、特に、関節形成術で用いられるインプラントに関する。
　本発明は、人工関節に関する。本発明は特に、人工関節に隣接して位置する長骨と係合するセメント接合式ステム、骨用セメント及び関連の器具に関する。
　関節置換手術は、骨関節症及び慢性関節リウマチの極めて普及している治療法である。これにより、多くの人は正常に活動できるが、もしそうしなければ、正常な活動をすることができない。人工関節は通常、既存の骨に固定される金属製、セラミック製及び（又は）プラスチック製のコンポーネントで構成されている。かかる人工関節は、肘、股、膝及び肩の解剖学的関節用の人工置換関節のコンポーネントを含む。事実上任意の植込み可能な人工骨の設計及び製造における重要な関心事は、人工骨を体内に植え込んだときに、人工骨の適度の固定状態が得られるかどうかということにある。
　初期設計型の植込み可能な人工関節は、インプラントを固定するためにセメント、例えばポリメチルメタクリレート（ＰＭＭＡ）を利用している。かかるセメントを使用することには幾つかの利点があり、例えば、自由な遊びを生じさせず、或いは、術後に接合面のエロージョンをもたらさない固定状態を提供できる。骨とセメントの境界部のところに荷重又は力を維持することは、良好な固定状態をもたらすと共に変位を防止するのに役立つ。植え込み可能な物品の最近の設計例は、インプラント内での骨の内方成長を可能にすると共に骨腔に圧入される輪郭を持つインプラント表面を有している。圧入式のステムを用いることは、骨の状態がより健全である場合には適していることが判明している。骨関節症及び慢性関節リウマチが骨の疾患の度合いが高い程度まで進んだ患者の場合、セメント接合式プロテーゼを用いられることがしばしば推奨される。
　整形外科用関節インプラントを長骨中に植え込む場合、整形外科用インプラントコンポーネントとしては、長骨に嵌め込まれるステムがある。長骨は代表的には切除され、例えばドリル、リーマ及びブローチの組合せの形態をしたツールが、長骨中の腔を前処理するために用いられる。長骨中の腔は、インプラントのステムよりも大きく作られ、セメントの層がステムと長骨の腔との間に配置される。かかる長骨としては、例えば、大腿骨、脛骨、上腕骨、尺骨が挙げられる。
　特にステムを長骨内に挿入して位置決めするための全関節インプラントの前処理及び手技では、骨腔を前処理するのに必要なドリル、リーマ及びブローチに加えて、追加のツールが必要である。これらツールは、腔を骨用セメント及び人工ステムで充填するために綺麗で汚染されていない腔を確保することが必要である。かかる追加のツールとしては、ステムセントラライザ及びセメントリストリクタが挙げられ、ステムセントラライザは、人工ステムの遠位部分を心出しするためのもの、セメントリストリクタは、セメントをステムの遠位部分の近位側の位置に隔離し、セメントリストリクタの遠位側への他の人体組織の移動を防止するためにステム内の遠位側に位置決めされる。
　セメント人工ステム関節形成術で所望される追加の器材としては、このセメントの加圧を助ける大腿プレッシャライザが挙げられる。このセメントの加圧は、セメントの完全に一様なマントルがステムを包囲してステムを支持し、これを骨腔に固定するようにする上で推奨できる。
　さらに、穿孔、リーマ仕上げ及び（又は）ブローチ削りの間に骨腔の先端部に形成されるデブリを除去するため、これら骨破片を除去するのに追加のツールを用いることが望ましい。かかるツールとしては、過剰の骨セメントを骨腔から取り除くために用いられるキューレットが挙げられる。大腿スポンジも又、血液及び骨デブリを骨腔から取り除くために利用される。加うるに、骨破片及び他のデブリを骨腔から綺麗に取り除くために大腿ブラシを利用するのがよい。
　セメント接合式ステムは一般にＰＭＭＡによって固定されるが、ＰＭＭＡには相当大きな差異がある。ＰＭＭＡ骨用セメントの中には、硬化時間が非常に遅いものがあり、硬化時間が早いものもある。さらに、ＰＭＭＡセメントは、感染を減少させ又は痛みを軽減するための追加の配合物を含む場合があり、又は、かかる配合物が将来予測される場合がある。特定のステム設計と適合性の高い別のセメントを設計できる。かくして、特定の人工ステムをそのステムについて設計された特定のＰＭＭＡセメントで植え込むことが望ましい場合がある。
　全関節形成術は、病院の手術室で行なわれるのが通例である。典型的には、手術室は、多種多様な外科手技のうちどれについても利用される。全関節形成術は、多くの外科手技の場合と同様、多量の器具及び手術に必要なインプラントが必要とされる。全関節形成術用の器具及び病院内での手術室に関して多種多様な手技に必要な他の器材は、在庫が維持されなければならず、又は、手技について特注されなければならない。このように多くのずらりと並んだ器具及び器材が必要とされることにより、在庫管理及び病院についてのスケジュール設定の繁雑さが生じる。しかしながら、手技を行なう外科医にとって適切な器具及びインプラントを利用できることが重要である。
　全関節形成術はブローチ及びリーマがステム並びにＰＭＭＡセメント及びインプラントの前処理に利用できる場合に行なうことができるが、必要な全てのセメントインプラント製品が利用できない場合には問題が生じることがある。例えば、セメントリストリクタが利用できない場合、外科医は大腿管内でセメントの十分な加圧を達成することが困難な場合がある。大腿管内での十分な加圧が行なわれないと、これが原因となって、セメントマントル内にボイドが潜在的に生じる場合があり、その結果、全関節形成術において最適な度合いには足りない結果が生じる場合がある。これと同様にセメントリストリクタ又はセントラライザがなければその結果として、全関節形成術について理想的な程度には至らないセメントマントルが生じる場合がある。
　上首尾の全関節形成術に必要なアイテムを全て入手するのは幾分困難であるが、計画に入っていない全関節形成術については問題が深刻化する。全関節形成術は、障害の結果として行なわれる場合がある。かかる手技は、股関節に対する障害の場合に植え込まれるフラクチャーステムと呼ばれているものを利用する場合がある。かかるフラクチャーステムは、障害が生じたときから数時間後に植え込まれる場合が多い。非常勤のスタッフは、常勤と同程度には病院の在庫については熟知していない場合があり、非常勤スタッフは、この手術を行なうのに必要なアイテムの全てを集めるのは困難な場合がある。
　本発明は、上述の問題のうち少なくとも幾つかを解決することを目的としている。
　本発明によれば、人工ステム並びにセメントリストリクタ及び手技に必要な量の骨用セメントを有する単一のパッケージが提供される。キットは、他の使い捨てセメント前処理ツール及びセメントセントラライザを更に有するのがよい。
　本発明は、例えば股関節ステムインプラント、リストリクタ、１回の関節形成術について定められると共に選択された用量の骨用セメント、１つの使い捨て前処理キット、汎用セメントリストリクタ及びセメントリストリクタインサータを収容した幾つかの内側パッケージが入っている外側パッケージに関する。パッケージは、エンドユーザを通じて滅菌状態で提供できる。
　本発明のパッケージは、セメント接合式ステムを正しく植え込むのに役に立つ所要の製品の全てを備えていないという問題を解決する。全てのコンポーネントを一緒に包装することにより、コンポーネントは、外科手技について必要な場合に直ぐに利用できる。これら製品を互いに包装することは、全ての必要な製品が利用できない場合に生じる問題が生じないようにするのに役立つ。本発明のパッケージは、包装及び在庫において可能な限り多くの変わりやすい要因を減少させている点において最適な解決策となる。
　本発明は、要素全てを収容し、他方、各要素の個々の包装を内部で可能にする組合せ状態の単一の外側パッケージを提供する。
　本発明の一実施形態によれば、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中に植え込む際に用いられるキットが提供される。キットは、長骨中へ植え込まれるステムと、セメントリストリクタと、或る量の骨用セメントとから成る。
　本発明の別の実施形態によれば、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられるキットが提供される。キットは、長骨中へ植え込まれるステムと、セメントリストリクタと、ステムセントラライザと、或る量の骨用セメントと、骨用セメントを活性化させる単量体とから成る。
　本発明の更に別の実施形態によれば、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられるキットが提供される。キットは、長骨中へ植え込まれるステムと、第１のセメントリストリクタと第２のセメントリストリクタと、セメントリストリクタインサータと、セメントキューレットと、セメントセントラライザと、或る量の骨用セメントと、骨用セメントを活性化させる単量体とから成る。
　本発明の技術的利点としては、手術室及び病院スタッフへの利便性が向上したことが挙げられる。例えば、本発明の一特徴によれば、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられるキットであって、セメントリストリクタと、セメントセントラライザと、或る量の骨用セメントと、ステムと、骨用セメントを活性化させる単量体とから成ることを特徴とするキットが提供される。このキットは、病院スタッフを種々のコンポーネントを個々に判別し、選択し、そして得ることから自由にすることにより便宜性を提供する。
　本発明の別の技術的利点としては、必要な全ての製品及びセメントアクセサリを容易に入手できるようにすることにより、潜在的な安全上の改良が得られる。例えば、本発明によれば、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中に植え込む際に用いられるキットであって、ステムと、セメントリストリクタと、或る量の骨用セメントとから成ることを特徴とするキットが提供される。かくして、本発明は、必要な全てのセメント製品及びセメントアクセサリが手術スタッフにとって容易に利用できるようにするキットを提供する。
　本発明の他の技術的利点は、当業者であれば、図面の記載、詳細な説明及び特許請求の範囲の記載から容易に明らかになろう。

　本発明によれば、今図１を参照すると、キット１０が提供されている。キット１０は、長骨内での関節形成術で用いられるためのものである。キット１０は、長骨内に植え込まれるステム１２を有している。図１に示すようにステム１２は大腿股関節ステムであるが、本発明は、ステムが大腿膝関節ステム、脛骨膝関節ステム、上腕肩関節ステム又は任意他の長骨ステムである場合に実施できる。キット１０は、或る量の骨用セメント２０を更に有している。好ましくは、図１に示すように、ステム１２、セメントリストリクタ１６及び骨用セメント２０は、外側パッケージ２２に一緒に包装されている。外側パッケージ２２は、キットの全ての構成部品を全関節形成術で用いられるよう一緒に保つのに利用される。外側パッケージ２２は、ステム１２、セメントリストリクタ１６及び骨用セメント２０のうちの少なくとも１つの安定化を維持する手段としても役立つ。
　外側パッケージ２２は、例えば、成形可能なプラスチック又は紙で作られたものであるのがよい。紙で作られた場合、外側パッケージ２２は、プラスチック上包みを有するのがよい。ステム１２、セメントリストリクタ１６及び骨用セメント２０は、別々に滅菌され、又は、外側パッケージ２２内で一緒に滅菌できることは理解されよう。十分な滅菌法を利用することができ、かかる滅菌法としては、熱、不活性ガス又は放射線の任意の組合せが挙げられる。例えば、キット１０を、ガスプラズマ滅菌法又はガンマ線を用いて滅菌できる。
　セメントリストリクタ１６は、任意適当な形状のものであってよく、かかるセメントリストリクタは、人体と適合性があり、滅菌可能な任意の適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよい。例えば、セメントリストリクタ１６は、ＰＭＭＡ又はプラスチック、例えば、超高分子量ポリエチレンで作られたものであるのがよい。セメントリストリクタ１６は、セメントの進み具合を骨管道内で遠位側に制限することができる形状のものであるのがよい。例えば、セメントリストリクタ１６は、本体１９を有し、この本体１９は、これから外方に延びる周方向フィン２１を備えている。
　骨用セメント２０は、任意適当な骨用セメントであってよく、例えば、ＰＭＭＡである。代表的には、ＰＭＭＡ骨用セメント２０は、液体単量体３０により活性化される粉末２６を含む。骨用セメント２０は、速効性の骨用セメントであってもよく、これよりも効き目が遅い骨用セメントであってもよい。さらに、骨用セメント２０は、特定の機能、例えば、防腐機能又は痛感過敏抑制（asanalgesic）機能を実行する追加の添加剤を含むのがよい。
　次に、図２及び図３を参照すると、ステム１２が詳細に示されている。ステム１２は、図２に示すように、人工股関節３２の一部である。図２に示すように、ステム１２は、長骨又は大腿骨３６の髄腔３４内に少なくとも部分的に植え込まれるのに適したものである。
　プロテーゼ３２は、手術中、プロテーゼ３２を長骨３６内に位置決めするためのカラー４０を更に有している。カラー４０は、ステム１２と操作的に関連しており、ステム１２から矢印４２の方向で外方に延びている。カラー４０は、長骨３６の切除面４６に当接して位置決めされたカラーフェース４４を有している。かくして、カラー４０は、プロテーゼ３２を長骨３６に当てて支持すると共にプロテーゼ３２を長骨３６の髄腔３４内に正しく位置決めするのに役立つ。
　変形例として、プロテーゼ３２は、カラー無しで作られたものであってもよい。かかるプロテーゼの１つはデピュイ・オーソピーディックス・インコーポレイテッドによって市販されている“C-Stem”人工股関節である。
　好ましくは、図２に示すように、プロテーゼ３２は、ステム１２と操作的に関連したヘッド５０を更に有することが好ましい。ヘッド５０を、任意適当な方法でステムに操作的に関連させることができる。例えば、ヘッド５０は、内部テーパ付き表面５４を形成する切頭円錐形凹部５２を有するのがよい。
　図２及び図３に示すように、ステム１２は、カラー４０から矢印６０の方向に近位側へ延びる頸部又はネック５６を有するのがよい。頸部５６は、外面６４を備えた外方にテーパした部分６２を有するのがよい。頸部５６のテーパ部分６２の外面６４は、ヘッド５０の内面５４と嵌合している。
　プロテーゼ３２は、ヘッド６０と回転自在に係合できるカップ６６を更に有するのがよい。カップ６６を、任意適当な方法で寛骨７０に固定できる。例えば、カップ６６は、寛骨７０の寛骨臼７４と嵌合する半球形外面７２を有するのがよい。カップ６６の外面７２は、寛骨臼７４への固定のために締結具（図示せず）が取り付けられる開口部（図示せず）を有してもよく、或いは、寛骨臼７４と係合可能なねじ山付き周囲部（図示せず）を有してもよい。変形例として、外面７２は、骨の内方成長を助ける多孔質被膜を有するのがよい。
　カップ６６は、任意適当な方法でヘッド５０と回動自在に係合状態にあるのがよい。例えば、ヘッド５０及びカップ６６は、互いに金属間接触のための互いに嵌合する表面を有してもよく、或いは図２に示すようにライナー８０をカップ６６とヘッド５０との間に回動自在に設けてもよい。ライナー８０は、耐久性のある金属で作られてもよく、或いは、非金属材料、例えばプラスチック又はセラミックで作られてもよい。例えば、ライナー８０は、超高分子量ポリエチレンで作られたものであってもよい。この用途に好適な特定の超高分子量ポリエチレンの一つは、デピュイ社によりMarathon（登録商標）として市販されており、その概要は米国特許第６，０１７，９７５号及び同第６，２２８，９００号に記載されており、これら米国特許の開示内容全体を本明細書の一部を形成するものとしてここに引用する。
　骨用セメント８２は、ステム１２の本体９２の遠位部分９０の外周部８６全体にわたりセメントマントル（外套）８４を形成する。セメントマントル８４の厚さＴは、例えば０．５ｍｍ〜２４．５ｍｍである。
　好ましくは、図２に示すように、腔９４が長骨１６の髄腔３４内に形成され、プロテーゼ３２をこの中に挿入できるようになっている。腔９４は、長骨１６を例えばプロテーゼ３２のために前処理する種々の一般に利用されている方法のうち任意のもので形成することができる。
　例えば、腔９４をリーマ仕上げ又はブローチ加工で形成することができる。腔９４は、ステム１２を位置決めすると共にセメントマントル８４をステム１２と海綿骨９６との間に存在させるのに十分な寸法に合わせて形成されている。皮質骨９８と一般に呼ばれている長骨１６の外側が硬い部分は好ましくは、腔９４を形成する上でリーマ仕上げ又はブローチ削りは行なわれず、或いは最小限である。
　次に、図４を参照すると、本発明の別の実施形態に従って、キット１１０が示されている。キット１１０は、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられる。キット１１０は、図１のキット１０と類似している。事実、キット１１０は、ステム１２と類似したステム１１２を有している。図示のようなステム１１２は、大腿股関節ステムであるが、ステムは、膝関節大腿ステム、膝関節脛骨ステム、上腕骨肩関節ステム又は任意の長骨ステムであってもよい。キット１１０は、図１のセメントリストリクタ１６と類似したセメントリストリクタ１１６を更に有している。また、キット１１０は、骨用セメント２０と類似した骨用セメント１２０を更に有している。事実、骨用セメント１２０は、キット１０の粉末２６と類似した粉末１２６及びキット１０の単量体３０に類似した単量体１３０を有している。
　キット１１０は、図１のキット１０とは異なり、別々に包装されたステム１１２、骨用セメント１２０及びセメントリストリクタ１１６を有している。例えば、図４に示すように、キット１１０は、ステム１１２を収容するステム容器１３２を有している。キット１１０は、粉末１２６及び単量体１３０を収容するセメント容器１３４を更に有している。これと同様に、キット１１０は、セメントリストリクタ１１６を収容するリストリクタ容器１３６を有している。ステム１３２、セメント容器１３４及びリストリクタ容器１３６は全て、キット１１０全体を含むパッケージ１２２内に収容されている。ステム容器１３２、セメント容器１３４及びリストリクタ容器１３６はそれぞれ、滅菌可能な任意の適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよい。例えば、容器１３２，１３４，１３６は、金属、紙又はプラスチックで作られたものであるのがよい。容器１３２，１３４，１３６を、任意適当な滅菌法で滅菌でき、かかる滅菌法としては、例えば、ガスプラズマ滅菌法又はガンマ線が挙げられる。
　本発明の別の実施形態によれば、図５を参照すると、キット２１０が示されている。キット２１０は、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられる。キット２１０は、ステム２１２の遠位部分２４２を心出しするセメントセントラライザ２４０を更に有している点を除き、図４のキット１１０と同一である。キット２１０は、図４のキット１１０と同様、図１のステム１２に類似したステム２１２を有している。ステム２１２は、図４のステム容器１３２と類似したステム容器２３２内に配置されている。キット２１０は、図４のキット１１０の骨用セメント２２０と類似した骨用セメント２２０を更に有している。骨用セメント２２０は、図４のキット１１０の粉末１２６に類似した骨用ドライセメント２２６及び図４のキット１１０の単量体１３０と類似した単量体２３０を有している。骨用セメント２２０は、図４のキット１１０の容器１３４に類似したセメント容器２３４内に収容されている。
　図５に示すように、骨用ドライセメント２２６を骨用ドライセメント容器２４４内に配置し、単量体２３０を単量体容器２４６内に配置するのがよい。ドライセメント容器２４４は、ドライセメントのための任意適当な容器であってよく、紙又はプラスチックで作られたものであってよい。単量体２３０用の容器２４６は、任意適当な耐久性の材料で作られたものであってよく、例えば、金属、プラスチック又はガラスである。好ましくは、単量体２３０の揮発性に起因して、容器２４６は、ガラスで作られている。
　キット２１０は、キット１１０のセメントリストリクタ１１６に類似したセメントリストリクタ２１６を有している。セメントリストリクタ２１６は好ましくは、キット１１０のリストリクタ容器１３６に類似したセメントリストリクタ容器２３６内に配置されている。
　ステムセントラライザ２４０をステムセントラライザ容器２５０内に配置するのがよい。ステムセントラライザ容器２５０は、セメントリストリクタ容器２３６又はステム容器２３２と類似したものであるのがよく、例えば、金属、紙又はプラスチックで作られる。ステムセントラライザ容器２５０は好ましくは、標準型滅菌法で滅菌可能な材料で作られ、かかる滅菌法としては、例えば、ガンマ線又はガスプラズマ滅菌法が挙げられる。
　ステム容器２３２、セメント容器２３４、セメントリストリクタ容器２３６及びステムセントラライザ容器２５０は好ましくは全て、キット容器２２２内に収容される。キット容器２２２は、図４のキット１１０のキット容器１２２に類似している。
　次に、図６及び図７を参照すると、ステムセントラライザ２４０が詳細に示されている。ステムセントラライザ２４０は、ステム２１２を腔２９４内に心出しできる任意適当な形状のものであってよい。好ましくは、ステムセントラライザ２４０は、ステム２１２を腔２９４内の中央に正確に配置するためにステム２１２及び踵骨２９６とぴったり嵌合する。例えば、図６及び図７に示すように、ステムセントラライザ２４０は、中央貫通開口部２５４を備えた本体２５２を有している。開口部２５４は好ましくは、ステム２１２と摺動自在に嵌合するようになっている。
　図６及び図７に示すように、複数のアーム２５６が、本体２５２から外方に延びている。図６及び図７に示すように、４本の類似したアーム２５６が示されているが、２本又は３本という少ない数のアームを作って利用してもよいことは理解されるべきである。これとは逆に、図示の４本のアームに加えて、追加のアームをステムセントラライザ２４０内に利用してもよい。図７に示すように、アーム２５６は、ステムセントラライザ２４０の遠位端部２６２の弧状周囲２６０を有している。弧状周囲２６０は、腔２９４内へのステムセントラライザ２４０の挿入を助ける。
　ステムセントラライザ２４０は、滅菌可能な任意適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよい。例えば、ステムセントラライザ２４０は、金属又はプラスチックで作られるのがよい。例えば、ステムセントラライザ２４０は、骨用セメント、例えば、ＰＭＭＡ又は再吸収可能な物質で作られたものであるのがよい。
　次に、図８を参照すると、本発明の追加の実施形態がキット３１０として示されている。キット３１０は、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられる。キット３１０は、キューレット３５２、第２のセメントリストリクタ３５４及びセメントリストリクタインサータ３５６を有する点を除き、図５のキット２１０と同一である。キット３１０は、図５のキット２１０と同様、キット２１０のキット容器２２２に類似したキット容器３２２を有している。
　キット３１０は、キット２１０のステム２１２に類似したステム３１２を有している。ステム３１２は、キット２１０のステム容器２３２に類似したステム容器３３２内に配置されている。キット３１０は、キット２１０のステムセントラライザ２４０に類似したステムセントラライザ３４０を更に有している。ステムセントラライザ３４０は、キット２１０のステムセントラライザ容器２５０に類似したステムセントラライザ容器３５０内に配置されている。キット３１０は、キット２１０のセメントリストリクタ２１６に類似した第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６を更に有している。第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６は、キット２１０のセメントリストリクタ容器２３６に類似した第１のセメントリストリクタ容器３３６内に配置されている。
　キット３１０の第２のセメントリストリクタ３５４は、第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６とは異なっており、図８に示すように、図１のセメントリストリクタ１６のフィン２１に類似したフィン３２１を更に有するのがよい。第２のセメントリストリクタ３５４は、第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６とは直径がこれよりも大きく又は小さいものであってよい。第２のセメントリストリクタ３５４は、患者の大腿骨の管道の遠位部分内の差異に対応するためのものである。第２のセメントリストリクタ３５４は、第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６とは異なり、第１のセメントリストリクタ容器３３６に類似した第２のセメントリストリクタ容器３６０内に配置される。
　キューレット３５２は、骨管道内へのセメント及びステム３１２の取り付け準備を行なうために骨管腔を更にクリーニングするためのものである。キューレット３５２は、骨管道をクリーニングするのに利用可能な任意の標準型キューレットであってよい。例えば、キューレットは、デピュイ・オーソピーディックス・インコーポレイテッドによって作られた標準型キューレットであってよい。キューレット３５２は、キューレット容器３６２内に入れられるのがよい。キューレット容器３６２は、キューレット３５２の滅菌状態を維持する方法となる場合がある。キューレット容器３６２は、任意適当な材料、例えば、金属、プラスチック又は紙で作られたものであってよい。
　キット３１０は、キット２１０の骨用セメント２２０に類似した骨用セメント３２０を有するのがよい。骨用セメント３２０は、単量体３３０及びドライセメント３２６を有するのがよい。単量体３３０は、キット２１０の単量体２３０に類似し、ドライセメント３２６は、キット２１０のドライセメント２２６に類似している。単量体３３０を、キット２１０の単量体容器２４６に類似した単量体容器３４６内に配置するのがよい。これと同様に、ドライセメント３２６を、キット２１０のドライセメント容器２４４に類似したドライセメント容器３４４内に配置するのがよい。単量体３３０とドライセメント３２６を共に、キット２１０のセメント容器２３４に類似したセメント容器３３４内に配置することができる。
　図８に示すように、キット３１０は、第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６及び第２のセメントリストリクタ３６０のうち少なくとも一方を挿入するために利用されるセメントリストリクタインサータ３５６を有するのがよい。セメントリストリクタインサータ３５６は、任意適当な寸法形状のものであってよく、セメントリストリクタ３１６，３６０を挿入できる任意適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよい。例えば、セメントリストリクタは、滅菌可能なプラスチック又は金属、例えば、コバルト−クロム合金鋼、チタン又はステンレス鋼、或いはプラスチックで作られたものであるのがよい。セメントリストリクタインサータは、第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６及び第２のセメントリストリクタ３６０のそれぞれの中央開口部３７２，３７４とぴったりと嵌合する遠位先端部３７０を有するのがよい。
　セメントリストリクタインサータ３５６を、セメントリストリクタ容器３７６内に配置するのがよい。セメントリストリクタ容器３７６は、キューレット容器３６２に類似しているのがよく、適当な耐久性のある材料、例えば、金属、紙又はプラスチックで作られたものであるのがよい。
　ステム容器３３２、セメント容器３３４、ステムセントラライザ容器３５０、キューレット容器３６２、第１のセメントリストリクタ容器３３６、第２のセメントリストリクタ容器３６０及びセメントリストリクタインサータ容器３７６は全て、キット容器３２２内に配置可能である。
　次に、図９を参照すると、本発明の別の実施形態がキット４１０として示されている。キット４１０は、関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられる。図９のキット４１０は、第２のキューレット４８０、大腿プレッシャライザ４８２、大腿スポンジ４８４及び大腿ブラシ４８６を更に有している点を除き、図８のキット３１０と同一である。キット４１０は、キット３１０のステム３１２に類似したステム４１２を有している。ステム４１２は、キット３１０のステム容器３３２に類似したステム容器４３２内に配置されている。
　キット４１０は、キット３１０のセメント３２０に類似したセメント４２０を更に有している。セメント４２０は、キット３１０のドライセメント３２６に類似したドライセメント４２６を含む。セメント４２０は、キット３１０の単量体３３０に類似した単量体４３０を更に有している。ドライセメント４２６は、キット３１０のドライセメント容器３４４に類似したドライセメント容器４４４内に配置されている。単量体４３０は、キット３１０の単量体容器３４６に類似した単量体容器４４６内に配置されている。単量体４３０及びセメント４２６は、キット３１０のセメント容器３３４に類似したセメント容器４３４内に配置されている。
　ステムセントラライザ４４０は、キット３１０のステムセントラライザ３４０に類似している。ステムセントラライザ４４０は、キット３１０のステムセントラライザ容器３５０に類似したステムセントラライザ容器４５０内に配置されている。
　キット４１０は、キット３１０のキューレット３５２に類似した第１のキューレット４５２を更に有している。キット４１０は、キット３１０の第１のセメントリストリクタ３１６に類似した第１のセメントリストリクタ４１６を更に有している。キット４１０は、キット３１０の第２のセメントレスリクタ３５４に類似した第２のセメントリストリクタ４５４を更に有している。キット４１０は、キット３１０のセメントリストリクタインサータ３５６に類似したセメントリストリクタインサート４５６を更に有している。
　第２のキューレット４８０は、第１のキューレット４５２に類似している。第２のキューレット４８０は、第１のキューレット４５２よりも小さく、又は、図９に示すようにこれよりも大きい。大腿プレッシャライザ４８２は、滅菌可能な任意適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよく、大腿管道を加圧できる任意適当な形状なものであってよい。大腿プレッシャライザは、ステム４１２上に配置され、例えば、ステム４１２を受け入れる中央開口部４９０を有するのがよい。大腿プレッシャライザは、任意適当な材料で作られたものであってよく、例えば、プラスチックで作られる。
　大腿スポンジ４８４は、ステムの植え込みを助け、ステムの植え込みのために大腿管道をクリーニングできる任意のスポンジであってよい。例えば、大腿ステム４８４は、デピュイ・オーソピーディックス・インコーポレイテッド製の標準型スポンジ５４０２−０６−０００、５４０２−０８−０００であるのがよい。大腿スポンジ４８４は、図９に示すように、ステムのキャビティ内へ延びるよう互いに連結可能な２つの部品で作られたものであるのがよい。大腿スポンジは、例えば、金属本体及び合成スポンジで作られたものであるのがよい。
　大腿ブラシ４８６は、任意適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよく、任意特定の形状を備えるものであってよい。例えば、大腿ブラシ４８６は、デピュイ・オーソピーディックス・インコーポレイテッドによって市販されている標準型ブラシ５４６１−２２−０００であるのがよい。大腿ブラシ４８６は、金属本体４９４を有するのがよく、ナイロン製のブリュッスル４９６がこの金属本体から延びている。本体４９４及びブリュッスル４９６は、滅菌可能な任意適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよい。
　キューレット４５２，４８０、リストリクタ４１６，４５４、大腿プレッシャライザ４８２、インサータ４５６、大腿スポンジ４８４及び大腿ブラシ４８６は全て、供給業者の容器４９８内に収容されるのがよい。供給業者の容器４９８は、滅菌可能な任意適当な耐久性のある材料で作られたものであってよい。例えば、供給業者の容器４９８は、金属、プラスチック又は紙で作られたものである。しかしながら、供給業者の容器４９８ではなく、第１のキューレット、第２のキューレット、第１のリストリクタ、第２のリストリクタ、大腿プレッシャライザ、インサータ、大腿スポンジ及び大腿ブラシは各々、個別的にそれ自体の容器内に配置されるのがよいことは理解されるべきである。
　インプラントステム、セメント及び全ての必要なセメント製品及びアクセサリを含む全股関節形成術キットを提供することにより、手術の準備に必要な労力を軽減するよう手術チームに追加の利便を与えるキットを提供できる。
　ステム、セメント及びセメントアクセサリを含む全股関節形成術キットを提供することにより、全ての構成要素が手術中に利用でき、手術が続行でき、又は、手術が全ての必要なアイテム及び手助けになるアイテムを用いて続行するようにするのを確保する上で追加の安全性をもたらすキットを提供できる。
　本発明の内容及びその利点を詳細に説明したが、特許請求の範囲に記載された本発明の精神及び範囲から逸脱することなく、その種々の変更例、置換例及び変形例を想到できることは理解されるべきである。
　本発明の具体的な実施態様は、次の通りである。
　（１）セメントリストリクタインサータを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（２）前記第１のセメントリストリクタとは異なる第２のセメントリストリクタを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（３）ステムセントラライザを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（４）骨用セメントを活性化させる単量体を更に有していることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（５）前記ステム、前記リストリクタ及び前記骨用セメントのうち少なくとも１つは、前記キット内部に別個に包装されていることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（６）セメントキューレットを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（７）骨用セメントの前記或る量は、ステムを植え込むのに必要な量とほぼ同じであるよう選択されていることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（８）前記ステム、前記セメントリストリクタ及び前記或る量の骨用セメントは、容器内に一緒に包装されていることを特徴とする請求項１記載のキット。
　（９）セメントリストリクタインサータを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項２記載のキット。
　（１０）前記第１のセメントリストリクタとは異なる第２のセメントリストリクタを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項２記載のキット。
　（１１）前記ステム、前記セメントリストリクタ、前記ステムセントラライザ、前記或る量の骨用セメント及び前記単量体のうちの少なくとも１つは、前記キット内に別個に包装されていることを特徴とする請求項２記載のキット。
　（１２）セメントキューレットを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項２記載のキット。
　（１３）骨用セメントの前記或る量は、ステムを植え込むのに必要な量とほぼ同じであるよう選択されていることを特徴とする請求項２記載のキット。
　（１４）前記ステム、前記セメントリストリクタ、前記ステムセントラライザ、前記或る量の骨用セメント及び前記単量体は、容器内に一緒に包装されていることを特徴とする請求項２記載のキット。
　（１５）前記第１のセメントリストリクタ、前記第２のセメントリストリクタ、前記セメントリストリクタインサータ、前記セメントキューレット、前記ステムセントラライザ、前記或る量の骨用セメント及び前記単量体のうちの少なくとも１つは、前記キット内に別個に包装されていることを特徴とする請求項３記載のキット。
　（１６）骨用セメントの前記或る量は、ステムを植え込むのに必要な量とほぼ同じであるよう選択されていることを特徴とする請求項３記載のキット。
　（１７）前記第１のセメントリストリクタ、前記第２のセメントリストリクタ、前記セメントリストリクタインサータ、前記セメントキューレット、前記ステムセントラライザ、前記或る量の骨用セメント及び前記単量体は、容器内に一緒に包装されていることを特徴とする請求項３記載のキット。

  1. 　関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中に植え込む際に用いられるキットであって、長骨中へ植え込まれるステムと、セメントリストリクタと、或る量の骨用セメントとから成ることを特徴とするキット。
  2. 　関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられるキットであって、長骨中へ植え込まれるステムと、セメントリストリクタと、ステムセントラライザと、或る量の骨用セメントと、骨用セメントを活性化させる単量体とから成ることを特徴とするキット。
  3. 　関節形成術で用いられるステムを長骨中へ植え込むのに用いられるキットであって、長骨中へ植え込まれるステムと、第１のセメントリストリクタと第２のセメントリストリクタと、セメントリストリクタインサータと、セメントキューレットと、セメントセントラライザと、或る量の骨用セメントと、骨用セメントを活性化させる単量体とから成ることを特徴とするキット。
