Abstract
Description
【0001】

[Prior art]
While the player sits in the seat that imitates the cockpit, while referring to the instruments installed in front of the seat and the display of instruments and indicators displayed on the monitor placed in front of the player together with the scene outside the aircraft, Air battle games that shoot down enemy aircraft have been widely popular.
There are a lot of various instruments and display devices in the cockpit of an actual fighter, but even in the air combat game machine that simulates this, conventionally the cockpit of an actual fighter has been faithfully reproduced. In order to increase the real feeling of the game, a display form similar to that of an actual instrument as much as possible was adopted for the instrument.
For example, the following can be mentioned.
[0003]
[Non-Patent Document 1]
"Aero Dancing 4" instruction manual manufactured by SEGA [0004]
However, for amateur game players who are not real fighter pilots, it is difficult to understand the display of these real instruments, and it took a considerable amount of time to learn how to distinguish them.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and its purpose is to recognize to the player several display forms of instruments or displays that play an important role in the performance of the game. Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an instrument panel display method capable of sufficiently enjoying the original game content of an air combat game called enemy shooting down without stress.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The above objects of the present invention are firstly to improve the display form of the threat radar in the instrument panel, secondly to improve the display form of the multifunction display, and thirdly to the head-up display. This can be achieved by improving the display form.
In the present invention, the term “threat radar” refers to a radar that displays an enemy present at a relatively close position from a fighter aircraft operated by a player (referred to as “own aircraft”).
“Multifunction display” refers to a monitor that displays various information in the cockpit.
“Head-up display” is a monitor that is installed in front of the cockpit and displays information on the target (enemy aircraft) that is locked on (set to be shot down) in addition to the scene outside the aircraft. May also be displayed in this head-up display.
“Important enemies” are enemies that are involved in the progress of the game. By defeating these enemies, the game progresses and leads to clearing of the stage.
The “steering line” is a line displayed on the threat radar and indicating a direction of an important enemy to be attacked around the own aircraft.
The “mission area” refers to an area where the player plays in the game space.
The “target mark” refers to a mark that displays an enemy aircraft or the like that can be an attack target.
[0007]
Specifically, the object of the present invention is to
In the method of displaying the instrument panel including the threat radar in the air battle game, from the position of the own aircraft set at the approximate center of the screen of the threat radar toward the direction of the important enemy that is outside the effective range of the radar, This can be achieved by the above-described instrument panel display method characterized by displaying a steering line.
Further, the object of the present invention is that the instrument panel includes a multi-function display, the display of the multi-function display includes a display of a mission area frame, and the mission area frame is color-coded according to the situation outside thereof. This can be achieved more suitably.
Still further, the object of the present invention can be achieved even more suitably by the instrument panel including a head-up display and displaying a target mark in the head-up display.
[0008]
The instrument panel display method according to the present invention is implemented by executing a computer program designed to realize the method by a computer provided in the game machine.

FIG. 6 is an explanatory view showing a display state of a target mark in a head-up display in the instrument panel display method according to the present invention,
FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing steps for carrying out the target mark display method.
[0010]
First, a threat radar display method according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
The display format of threat radar on conventional aerial battle game machines is to display only the enemies that exist within the circled circle as the effective range of the radar, just like the actual radar, so it should be the attack target. When the “important enemy” is far away, it is not displayed on the radar screen at all, and the player cannot know the direction to be aimed at.
Therefore, in the present invention, when there is an important enemy outside the effective range of the threat radar, the important position existing outside the effective range of the radar from the position of the aircraft set in the approximate center of the screen of the threat radar. The steering line is displayed in the direction of the enemy.

The display method for threat radar as described above can be described in the main steps as follows.
A: A step of obtaining the position of the enemy on the xz plane based on the player's own machine and calculating the distance from the own machine to the enemy.
B: A step to check if it is an important enemy.
C: A step of displaying the steering line.
In this case, the steps A and B are performed on all enemies, and after checking whether the threat radar is within the effective range, the step C is performed.
[0015]
The details of steps A and B are shown in a flowchart in FIG.
By the process shown in this flowchart, since the distance to the important enemy closest to the player's own machine is known, when the distance is outside the effective range of the threat radar, the steering line is displayed on the threat radar, When it is within the effective range of the threat radar, the shadow of the important enemy is displayed on the threat radar and the steering line is not displayed.
[0016]
Next, a display method of a multifunction display (MFD) according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
As described above, the multifunction display is a monitor that displays various information in the cockpit, and is usually installed near the front of the seat where the virtual pilot sits. The multi-function display may display an area (mission area) where the player plays in the game space, and the display method in that case has been improved in the present invention.
FIG. 4 shows an embodiment thereof, in which 4 is a multi-function display, 41 is a mission area map displayed on the screen, and 42a, 42b, 42c and 42d are the outer edges of the mission area. It is a mission area frame.
The present invention is characterized in that the mission area frame is displayed in different colors according to the situation outside the mission area frame. By doing so, the scope of the mission area and what is outside the area can be understood at a glance, and the player can concentrate on the game without feeling stressed or frustrated.

The display method of the multi-function display (MFD) as described above is described in the main steps as follows.
A: A step of acquiring the range of the mission area.
B: A step of examining what area is outside the four sides of the mission area.
C: A step of displaying a mission area map based on the player's own position.
D: A step of displaying each frame by color according to the type of area outside the mission area frame.
These steps are shown in a flowchart in FIG.
[0019]
Next, a head-up display (HUD) display method according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
The target information in the head-up display of the conventional air battle game machine only displays the distance to the target as a numerical value. For this reason, even if the distance to the target is known, it was difficult to know when to fire the weapon.
Therefore, in the present invention, the target mark is displayed in the head-up display.
In that case, depending on the type and situation of the target, for example, a target that is not locked on (selected or set as an attack target) (enemy aircraft, etc.), a target that is locked on but outside the effective range, It is desirable to display the target within the effective range in different forms.
[0020]
FIG. 6 shows an embodiment thereof. In the figure,
Of these target marks, 51 is a target that is not locked on, and is shown by a square dotted line frame, for example, as shown in the figure.
In this way, by displaying information about the target with easy-to-understand target marks, it is possible to understand at a glance the timing of firing the weapon, and the player can concentrate on the game without feeling stressed or frustrated.
[0021]
The display method of the head-up display (HUD) as described above can be described in major steps as follows.
A: Checking whether the target to be displayed on the HUD is locked on.
B: calculating the distance to the target.
C: A step of checking whether the target is within the effective range of the weapon to be used. (There are several types of weapons that players can use, and the effective range of each weapon is set to a different value.)
D: A step of determining a target mark to be displayed in accordance with the above conditions A to C.
E: A step of displaying the target mark determined in D according to the state of the target.
F: A step of performing the above steps A to E for all targets.
The flow of these steps is shown in a simple flowchart in FIG.
