本発明は、この目的を達成するために、請求項1により、ライセンスプレートの上方に位置するライセンスガーニッシュをバックモニタカメラと共にラッゲジドアに取付けるための自動車用ライセンスガーニッシュ取付け構造において、内周面にねじ溝が形成され、また外周面に爪が形成された筒部の基端部に座部を有するクリップを備えると共に、ラッゲジドアの後面パネルに2個以上の取付け孔が形成され、ライセンスガーニッシュの内面に突設された2個以上のボルトに、ねじ溝がそれぞれボルトのねじ山に係止されるように、クリップがセットされると共に、ラッゲジドアの外側からクリップをそれぞれ取付け孔に挿入することにより、座部が取付け孔の周辺部に爪とで周辺部を挟持した状態で着座させられ、後面パネルに形成されたカメラ装着用開口部に、バックモニタカメラを後面パネルの内側から装着して、バックモニタカメラのカメラブラケットの両側2個の取付け孔にセットされた筒部から突出したボルト突出部分にナットをねじ込むことにより、ライセンスガーニッシュ及びカメラブラケットを締結することを特徴とする。

図1乃至図4を基に本発明の実施の形態の一例による自動車用ライセンスガーニッシュ取付け構造を説明する。ラッゲジドア1の後面に形成された凹部1aの後方を向いた後面パネル1bには、バックモニタカメラ2用の開口部4の両側及び横方向にずれた2個所の併せて4個所に、クリップ10がセットされる取付け孔19が1列に形成されている。

クリップ10は、図2に示すように、内周面にねじ溝11aが形成された合成樹脂製の筒部11と、その基端部において取付け孔19の周辺部に外側から着座する座部12とで形成されると共に、筒部11は縦方向のスリットにより4分割されて曲げ弾性を呈する4個の分割部分11bを形成している。そのうちの対向する2個の分割部分11bの外周面には、座部12とで取付け孔19の周辺部を挟持する爪13が突設されている。また、バックモニタカメラ2は、従来の構成によりカメラ本体から横方向の両側へ突設されたプレート状カメラブラケット2aを備えて、取付け孔2bがそれぞれ形成されると共に、残り2個の分割部分11bの外周面の先端部には、取付け孔2bの内周に係合する係合部14が、円弧状に厚みを膨出させて形成されている。さらに、筒部11の縦方向の長さは、取付け孔2bの周辺の厚みよりも僅かに短く設定されている。取付け孔2bの内周面には、爪13を逃がすための凹部2cが環状に形成されている。

このように構成された取付け構造の取付け方法は次の通りである。ライセンスガーニッシュ20のインサートボルト23に、予めクリップ10を挿通させてセットする。次いで、ラッゲジドア1の外側から4個所の取付け孔19(カメラブラケット2aの2個のみ図示)にシール18を介してクリップ10を外側からセットして、その周辺部に爪13で保持させることにより、ライセンスガーニッシュ20を仮置きする。その際、インサートボルト23より大きな外径の筒部22の先端面22aが座部12に当接し、インサートボルト23のねじ山がねじ溝11aに係止され、また座部12及び爪13によるクリップ10の保持で仮置きが確実に行われる。また、このようなクリップ10の保持及びインサートボルト23の係止は、分割された筒部11の曲げ弾性で容易、かつ確実に行われる。

続いて、ラッゲージドア1の内側から開口部4にバックモニタカメラ2を挿通させると共に、カメラブラケット2aの取付け孔2bにクリップ10の筒部11に挿入させ、係合部14を係合させて位置決めする。この状態で、クリップ10から1列4個所で突出しているインサートボルト23にナット29をねじ込む。その際、先端面22aが後面パネル1b側に圧接してライセンスガーニッシュ20が締結されると共に、ナット29は取付け孔2bの周辺部に圧接してカメラブラケット2aを後面パネル1bとで締結する。図3Aはカメラブラケット2aの取付け孔2bがクリップ10の係合部14に係合した状態を示し、図3Bはクリップ10が爪13で取付け孔19に保持された状態を示す。バックモニタカメラ2が取付けられない残り2個の取付け孔19のインサートボルト23には、そのままナット29をねじ込んでライセンスガーニッシュ20のみを締結し、これにより、凹部1aにライセンスプレート9の上方に位置してバックモニタカメラ2と共に取付けられる。

請求項1の発明によれば、ライセンスガーニッシュ及びバックモニタカメラの取付け孔を共通に形成でき、この取付け孔にセットされるクリップでライセンスガーニッシュが仮置きでき、したがって双方を取付けるのに必要な部品数が削減されると共に、ガーニッシュ及びカメラ双方の取付け作業が簡単になる。請求項2の発明によれば、クリップの筒部がたわみ易くなり、クリップの保持並びにライセンスガーニッシュ及びカメラの仮置き作用が確保され易くなる。
