Abstract
Description
【0001】
たとえば、解像度はVGA(Video Graphics Array:640×480ドット)、SVGA(Super Video Graphics Array:800×600ドット)、XGA(eXtended Graphics Array:1024×768ドット)、SXGA(Super eXtended Graphics Array:1280×1024ドット)などがあるが、これらは、VGA→SVGA→XGA→SXGAの順に分解能が高くなる。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic device, a display control method, a program, and a recording medium, for example, a selection range display method, a selection range display device, a program, and a recording medium suitable for use in editing character information such as a word processor or a text editor.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Today, with the improvement in the performance of information processing devices such as personal computers, it is common to edit sentences by digitizing them. Such editing functions can be provided to personal computers, portable information terminals, and mobile phones. Various application programs are widespread.
[0003]
By the way, one of the operation techniques of the above-mentioned editing function is “selection operation”, which is performed when an arbitrary editing operation is performed on a character string or a graphic in a document (document data). This is an operation to specify the part explicitly.
FIG. 15 shows a conventional editing screen, but shows a state in which already input document data (there is no particular significance in the contents) is displayed on the
In this state, when a part of the document data is selected and some editing is to be performed on the selected part, for example, a change, deletion, or movement of a character attribute is to be performed, the operator needs to start (or end) the target character string. Select a character and drag the cursor to select the last (or first) character of the target string. With this operation, the selection range 2 (that is, from the beginning to the end of the target character string) is highlighted (or identified and displayed by another method), and the
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the case of such a conventional “selection operation”, for example, as shown in FIG. 16, if the selection range is wider than the display screen such that the
[0005]
Therefore, the problem to be solved by the present invention is that even when the selection range is too large to fit on one editing screen, the entire selection range can be seen through, so that the selection range is erroneously set. An object of the present invention is to provide an electronic device, a display control method, a program, and a recording medium that can perform an accurate editing operation without fear of designation.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention provides a display unit for displaying document data, a designation unit for designating an editing range of the document data including a range displayed on the display unit, and an editing range designated by the designation unit is displayed on the display unit. Determining means for determining whether or not all can be displayed; and when the determining means determines that all of the specified editing ranges cannot be displayed, the specified editing ranges are all displayed on the display means. Display control means for reducing and displaying the image.
According to the present invention, it is determined whether or not the entire edit range of the document data can be displayed on the display means. In the case of a negative determination, the edit range is reduced and displayed so as to be entirely displayed on the display means.
Therefore, even when the editing range is too wide to be displayed on the display means, the entire editing range can be seen through the reduced display, and there is no possibility that the editing range is specified by mistake. Accurate editing operations can be expected.
Alternatively, the present invention provides a display unit for displaying document data, a designation unit for designating an editing range of the document data including a range displayed on the display unit over a plurality of pages, and an editing unit designated by the designation unit. Display control means for controlling a plurality of pages including the range to be displayed as thumbnails.
According to the present invention, a plurality of pages including the editing range specified by the specifying unit are displayed as thumbnails. Therefore, even if the editing range is too large to fit on one page, the entire editing range is displayed by thumbnail display. Therefore, there is no possibility that the selection range is erroneously specified, and an accurate editing operation can be expected.
[0007]

According to this, for example, even when the thumbnail images 83 to 90 are considerably small and small characters are difficult to read, those characters (particularly headwords and the like) are converted into tag characters such as numerical values that are relatively easy to read. Since the replacement is displayed, the positional relationship of the selection range in the text can be easily grasped by referring to the tag character, and the above-mentioned inconvenience can be solved.

FIG. 12 is a flowchart corresponding to FIG. 11A and FIG. 11B, showing the main part processing of the
[0048]
Next, based on the number of pages and the selection range information, it is determined whether to display in page units or in text units (step S33). When displaying in text units, display information is created by setting the total number of pages, display start page / line / column, and display end page / line / column (step S37). The display information is created by setting the number of pages in the range, the start page / line / column of the selection range and the end page / line / column of the selection range (step S34). In any case, the headword extraction process (step S35) is performed. After the execution, a display process is executed (step S36).
[0049]
FIG. 13 is a flowchart of the headword search processing (step S35 in FIG. 12).
In this flowchart, after setting the search range (search start page and search end page) (step S41), while sequentially looping through all the lines in the search range, the attributes of each line are extracted (step S43), However, for example, the determination as to whether or not the entry is a headword (step S44) is repeated until the last line of the search range is reached, and when the last line is exceeded (when the determination result in step S42 is "YES"), The process ends.
[0050]
When a headword is detected in an arbitrary line (when the determination result in step S44 is “YES”), the reduction ratio of the thumbnail image is checked (step S45), and it is possible to determine even if the headword is displayed as it is. Is determined. If it is possible to determine (display OK), the headword is stored in the

Thus, the display result of FIG. 11A or FIG. 11B can be obtained.
[0054]
Therefore, according to each of the above embodiments, even in the case of a wide selection range over a plurality of pages, the text to be edited can be reduced and the selection range can be displayed on one editing screen without any trouble, or Can be displayed in the thumbnail image, and the entirety from the start to the end of the selected range can be visually checked. As a result, unlike the related art, it is not necessary to remember the start position of the selection range, so that it is possible to prevent the setting error of the selection range due to a storage error and to perform an accurate editing operation. Effects can be obtained.
[0055]
Further, since the size of the text to be edited is set in accordance with the resolution of the
[0056]
When a thumbnail image is used, a specific character string (for example, a headword) in the thumbnail image is extracted and the specific character string is highlighted, so that the context of the selection range in the thumbnail image can be grasped. It is easy to perform and the position can be grasped intuitively.
[0057]
In addition, since a specific character string in a thumbnail image can be replaced with a more legible tag character string (such as a numerical value), a small-sized thumbnail image can be used, and many thumbnail images can be used. Can be lined up.
[0058]
The main functions of the present embodiment are functionally realized by an organic combination of hardware resources including a microcomputer and software resources such as an operating system and various application programs. In addition, since the general-purpose operating system can be used, it can be said that essential items indispensable for the present invention are substantially collected in the application program 36 (see FIG. 2A). . Accordingly, the present invention provides various recording media (such as magnetic disks, optical disks, hard disks, and semiconductor storage devices) that store all or a main part of the application program 36 (not only those that are on a distribution channel, but also (Including those that provide only recorded contents).
[0059]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, it is determined whether or not the entire edit range of the document data can be displayed on the display means. In the case of a negative determination, the edit range is reduced and displayed so as to be entirely displayed on the display means. . Therefore, even when the editing range is too wide to be displayed on the display means, the entire editing range can be seen through the reduced display, and there is no possibility that the editing range is specified by mistake. Accurate editing operations can be expected.
Alternatively, since a plurality of pages including the editing range specified by the specifying means are displayed as thumbnails, even if the editing range is too large to fit on one page, the entire editing range can be seen through thumbnail display. Therefore, there is no possibility that the selection range is erroneously specified, and an accurate editing operation can be expected.
