これらのベルトは無端状であり、内側に設けた複数のローラに張架され回転するようになっている。しかし、テンションが掛けられた状態で長期間停止すると、各ローラ部に接しているベルト部分が変形(巻き癖)してしまい、変形した部分が転写ニップ部で転写ブレを発生させ、またベルトが停止位置に戻るときにベルトの速度変動が発生し、転写ブレを起こすため画像不良を発生させてしまう。

以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面に従って説明する。
図1は本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る無端ベルト装置の要部構成図、図2はその無端ベルトの外観斜視図である。

本無端ベルト装置は、無端ベルト1と、無端ベルト1を張架してこれを駆動する駆動ローラ2を備えている。なお、図示は省略しているが無端ベルト1を張架するためには、駆動ローラ2の他に当然1つまたは2つ以上の従動ローラが設けられる。
