TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the treatment of liquids, and more particularly to a method and an apparatus for treating liquids containing radionuclides generated in a nuclear power plant.
[0002]
[Prior art]
[Patent Document 1] JP-A-5-168917 [Patent Document 2] JP-A-6-343856 [Patent Document 3] JP-A-10-170696 In a nuclear power plant, generated waste liquid is purified and reused. Therefore, as a purification facility, a waste liquid desalination apparatus using an ion exchange resin, a filtration apparatus such as a hollow fiber membrane filter, and a concentrator are usually installed.
The waste liquid generated in the nuclear power plant contains radionuclides, ionic impurities, suspended corrosion products, and the like, and all the waste liquid is collected in a tank and subjected to purification treatment.
The waste liquid collected in the tank can be of various types, such as equipment drain water such as reactor water and rotary equipment seal water, floor drain water such as floor cleaning waste liquid, and regeneration waste liquid generated by back washing of ion exchange resin and chemical passing. There is waste liquid of property. The treatment method differs depending on the properties of these waste liquids.Filtration treatment is performed for waste liquids with a large amount of suspending substances, and concentration treatment is performed for waste liquids with a high ion concentration. Collected and reused.
In recent nuclear power plants, it has been required to clean the entire plant, and to purify radioactive waste liquid, it has been required to prevent radioactivity from being detected. This is because the presence of radionuclides causes an increase in the dose equivalent of workers during periodic inspections of the plant.
[0003]
However, at the time of design, the current waste liquid treatment equipment does not assume that a very small amount of radioactive nuclides present in the waste liquid will be removed below the detection limit, and ionic impurities including Na + and Cl − Only a metal oxide is assumed. In a waste liquid desalination apparatus, which is one of the equipment for purification, an ion exchange resin is used, but the removal rate of a trace amount of radionuclide is not sufficient. For this reason, at present, when the radionuclide concentration shows a tendency to break through, the chemical is recycled through chemicals and the removal capacity is restored, so the regenerated chemicals are generated as secondary waste liquid, and treatment is necessary. Not so effective. In addition, if the resin is replaced without performing the regeneration, it becomes a radioactive solid waste, and this disposal poses a problem. On the other hand, the concentrator has a high radionuclide removal capability, but a low treatment capability, and is not sufficient as a treatment capability for waste liquid generated in a plant.
Heavy metals such as cobalt and manganese, which are radionuclides, easily form chelates with sulfate ions, organic substances, and the like present in the waste liquid, and thus have characteristics that are not easily removed by commonly used ion exchange resins.
In addition, radionuclide removal adsorbents using activated carbon or fibrous activated carbon have been proposed, but their physical properties are inferior to chelate resins and inorganic adsorbents, and in particular, their physical strength is low, There is a possibility of crushing and is not appropriate as a waste liquid treatment facility. Further, in the case of the fibrous adsorbent, there is a problem that the pressure loss at the time of passing water is large, the processing capacity cannot be increased, and the processing equipment becomes large.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In view of the above prior art, the present invention provides a liquid treatment method and apparatus containing a radionuclide that can selectively remove radionuclide, reduce the load on the ion exchange resin and extend the life of the resin. The task is to provide.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a method for treating a liquid containing a radionuclide, wherein the liquid is subjected to water treatment with at least one adsorbent capable of adsorbing a radionuclide contained in the liquid. It is a processing method.
In the liquid treatment method, the water passage treatment can be performed by passing water through a mixed bed or a multiple bed using a plurality of adsorbents.
Further, in the present invention, in a treatment apparatus for a liquid containing a radionuclide, a filling layer filled with one or more adsorbents capable of adsorbing a radionuclide contained in the liquid is provided in a flow path for treating the liquid. The liquid processing apparatus is characterized in that:
[0006]
In the liquid treatment apparatus, the adsorbent is an inorganic ion exchanger and / or a chelate resin, or a combination of these with a strongly acidic cation resin and / or a strongly basic anion resin. Titanate and / or ferrocyanide, and as the chelating resin, an iminodiacetic acid type, a polyamine type, or a polyphosphoric acid type in which a coordinating group capable of forming a chelate with a radionuclide is introduced into a parent polymer compound. The packing layer may be a packing layer filled with an ion-exchange resin at a preceding stage, and a packing layer filled with an inorganic ion exchanger and / or a chelating resin may be provided at a later stage.
[0007]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
In the present invention, an adsorbent for removing heavy metals such as radionuclides is used. A chelating resin or inorganic ion exchanger alone can selectively remove radionuclides, but the adsorption capacity of chelated heavy metals is low.By using an ion exchange resin together, impurities other than heavy metals are removed to remove heavy metals. Can be improved. In addition, since radioactive nuclides can be selectively removed by this, the load on the ion exchange resin can be reduced, the frequency of regeneration with chemicals can be reduced, and the life of the resin can be extended. Further, the amount of processing by the concentrator can be reduced, and the operating cost can be reduced.
[0008]
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail.
In the liquid treatment method of the present invention, as an adsorbent for removing a radionuclide, an inorganic ion exchanger or a chelate resin and a strongly acidic cation resin and / or a strongly basic anion resin are used in a mixed bed or a double bed. Conventionally used ion exchange resins are a strongly acidic cation exchange resin and a strongly basic anion exchange resin, which have the ability to adsorb ions existing in water, but have the option of adsorbing only specific ions. Poor sex. The inorganic ion exchanger and the chelating resin used in the present invention have higher selectivity for adsorbed ionic species than the ion exchange resin, and have an ability to adsorb only a specific substance. In particular, those having high selectivity for heavy metals have been developed.
[0009]
However, radioactive heavy metals present in trace amounts in liquids form chelates with other sulfate ions, ammonium ions, isoforms, etc. Not enough. Thus, by using an ion exchange resin together, impurities other than heavy metals are removed, and the removal efficiency can be increased by changing the heavy metals to a form easily removed by a chelate resin or an inorganic ion exchanger.
By using such an adsorbent, the radionuclide contained in the liquid can be efficiently removed, and the ion exchange resin conventionally used can be used for its original purpose such as Na and Cl ions. Since it is used to remove ionic impurities, it is not necessary to frequently regenerate the drug and to exchange the resin, which is economical.
[0010]
The adsorbent used is either an inorganic adsorbent or an organic adsorbent as long as it can selectively adsorb at least one of radioactive nuclides such as Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Cs. You may. As the inorganic ion exchanger as the inorganic adsorbent, at least one of a titanate and a ferrocyanide is used. As the organic adsorbent, at least one of chelating resins into which an aminocarboxylic acid such as iminodiacetic acid, a polyamine, or a polyphosphoric acid is introduced as a coordinating group forming a chelate with a heavy metal is used.
Inorganic ion exchangers generally have a strong structure while ion exchange resins have a flexible structure, and can be regarded as exchangers with a high degree of cross-linking. About 1 to 5%). In organic ion exchange resins, depolymerization and decomposition by radiation are remarkable, but inorganic ion exchangers can withstand radiation.
[0011]
Inorganic ion exchangers have strong skeletal structures and exchange groups with high charge density in narrow spaces, so that strong electrostatic fields are formed. Therefore, high selectivity can be expected. The amount of water contained in the H + type inorganic ion exchanger is estimated to be smaller than that of the ion exchange resin, and is extremely high [H + ]. Therefore, various selection specificities are recognized. Further, the inorganic ion exchanger has a large concentration dependency of the selectivity.
The particle size of the adsorbent used is preferably from 0.3 mm to 1.2 mm, more preferably from 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm. This takes into account the passage of waste water through the packed bed. Further, it is desirable that the water flow rate is 5 to 100 times the volume of the adsorbent.
If it is smaller than this, the flow in the packed bed may be partially offset. On the other hand, if it is larger than this, the contact time is shortened, so that the adsorption reaction may not be sufficiently performed.
[0012]
As an apparatus to be used, a radionuclide removal apparatus filled with the adsorbent may be installed at a stage subsequent to a wastewater desalination apparatus currently using an ion exchange resin, or an existing wastewater desalination apparatus may be used. A mixed bed or a double bed may be formed and used in the apparatus.
