多くの人々、特に高齢の人々が、便秘などの便通の困難を有する。施薬や浣腸がこれらの疾患を治療するのに用いられ、症状が重い場合は浣腸が唯一の手段となる。

c)患者が腹部膨満を感じたときに前記洗浄器具を取り去り、結腸内の糞便を体外に排出するステップとを含む洗浄方法を提供することによって達成される。
