に維持される。続いて、顔料を分離し、洗浄し、乾燥
し、要すれば焼成し、各々の場合に存在する被覆に関し

を滴下することによりpHを2.2に低下させる。続いて、T
iCl4水溶液50g(TiO2/lの167.5g)を計量添加し、32%Na

時に、混合物をさらに15分間攪拌して、沈殿を完了す
る。続いて、混合物を室温まで冷却し、得られる顔料を
濾去し、脱イオン水で塩が無くなるまで洗い、110℃で
乾燥する。次に、粉末を500℃で30分間焼成する。続い
て、厚さ5nmのCr層をPVD法により付着させる。仕上げら
れた顔料は、緑-青色への顕著な色フロップを示す強度
に着色された金色色調を示す。
アルミニウム箔75gを、無水エタノール380ml中に懸濁さ
せ、一定攪拌下に40℃に加熱する。オルトチタン酸テト
ラエチル150gを無水エタノール3000ml中にすばやく溶解
し、40℃に加熱する。この溶液、および別途、しかし同
時に、脱イオン水113mlを、激しい攪拌下にアルミニウ
ム箔懸濁液に計量添加する。続いて、さらに280mlの脱
イオン水を計量添加する。混合物を室温まで冷却し、得
られる中間体を濾去し、エタノールで洗い、110℃で乾
燥する。被覆された材料を、脱イオン水2L中に懸濁
し、一定攪拌下に75℃に加熱する。NaOH溶液(3%)を用い
てpHを7.5に調節する。希ナトリウム水-ガラス溶液(Ws
io2=13.5%)1240mlを、この懸濁液に計量添加し、pH
は、20%HCl溶液の同時添加により7.5の一定値に維持す
る。ナトリウム水-ガラスの添加完了時に、混合物をさ
らに15分間攪拌して、沈殿を完了する。続いて、混合物
を室温まで冷却し、得られる顔料を濾去し、塩が無くな
るまで脱イオン水で洗い、110℃で乾燥する。次に、粉
末を500℃で30分間焼成する。続いて、厚さ5nmのCr層を
PVD法により付着させる。仕上げられた顔料は、強度の
紫色から色を介さず強度の緑色への顕著な色変化を示
す。

- 【請求項1】 金属基材と、各々が基材を完全に包囲す
る複数の層とを含んでなる多層光沢顔料であって、 (A)(i)屈折率nが1.8以下である材料の無色誘電体層およ
び(ii)屈折率nが1.8を超える材料の無色誘電体層からな
る少なくとも一つの層パック、および(B)選択的または
非選択的吸収性層を含むことを特徴とする多層光沢顔
料。 - 【請求項2】 金属基材が薄片状である請求項1に記載
の多層光沢顔料。 - 【請求項3】 さらに外側層(C)を有する請求項1また
は2に記載の多層光沢顔料。 - 【請求項4】 金属基材が金属、金属合金またはそれら
の混合物からなる請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の多層
光沢顔料。 - 【請求項5】 層(i)の屈折率nが1.8以下である材料が
金属酸化物、金属フッ化物、金属酸化物水和物、金属燐
酸塩またはそれらの混合物である請求項1〜4のいずれ

れらの混合物または合金からなる請求項4に記載の多層
