tansにおいて、この酵素をコードする遺伝子はrmlCであり、rml座の
一部である。rml座は、S.mutans多糖きょう膜中のラムノース成分の
直近の前駆体であるdTDP−ラムノースの生合成に関与する酵素に対して有意
な類似性を示す3個の遺伝子から構成されている(Tsukioka、Y.ら、

cus pyogenes、Enterococcus faecalis、D
ebaryomyces occidentalis(hatI)およびEsc
herichia coli(trkD)中で同定できる。このS.pyoge
nesおよびE.faecalisホモログは、ゲノム配列データから同定し、
この遺伝子または遺伝子産物の特性については、全く注釈が得られなかった。酵
母D.occidentalisにおいて、hak1遺伝子は、大腸菌由来tr
kD遺伝子のホモログである(Banuelos、M.A.ら、1995.EM
BO J.14:3021−3027)。大腸菌のtrkD遺伝子は、kupカ
リウム取り込み系の一部である。ここで同定した具体的ホモログは、kup系カ
リウム取り込みたんぱく質である。このkup系は、E.coli中において重
要な構成要素であるカリウム取り込み系である。kup系カリウム取り込みたん
ぱく質は極めて疎水性のN末端を含有しており、これは、少なくとも12回膜に
貫通していると予測される。Kupは、他の公知の膜たんぱく質配列と相同では
ない。ATP結合を示唆するものはなく、この系が化学的浸透勾配によって稼動
していると提唱されている(Schleyer、M.&E.P.Bakker、
1993.J.Bacteriol.175:6925−6931)。

cus pyogenes、Streptococcus pneumonia
e、Enterococcus faecalisおよびEscherichi
a coli(gatCおよびSgcC)中で同定できる。このS.pyoge
nes、S.pneumoniaeおよびE.faecalisホモログは、ゲ

く注釈が得られなかった。E.coli中において、gatCおよびsgcC遺

belmann、B.およびJ.W.Lengeler.1995.Bioch
im.Biophys.Acta.1262:69−72)。

分)を含んでいた。このヌクレオチドおよび推定アミノ酸配列を、それぞれ、配
列番号14および15として示した。
s faecalis、Escherichia coli(malKおよびa
fuC)、Bacillus subtilis(glnO)、Haemoph
ilus influenzae(yebMおよびpotA)、Strepto
coccus pyogenes、Streptococcus pneumo
niaeおよびSalmonella typhimurium(malK)中
で同定できる。このE.faecalis、S.pyogenesおよびS.p
neumoniaeホモログは、ゲノム配列データから同定し、この遺伝子また
は遺伝子産物の特性については、全く注釈が得られなかった。その他のすべての
場合において、ホモログは、ABC型トランスポーターの一部であるATP結合
トランスポートたんぱく質を表していた。ABC型トランスポーターの成分の多
くは、これらの系が細胞外環境から細胞内コンパートメントへの巨大分子トラン
スポートに関与しているので、膜または細胞表面に結合している。
このプラスミドは、前記のリーダーレスphoAに相補性の遺伝子(またはその
部分)を含んでいた。このヌクレオチドおよび推定アミノ酸配列を、配列番号1
6および17として示した。
においてもホモログは全く同定できなかった。GBS pho3−14遺伝子産
物に対するホモログが1個、Streptococcus pyogenesに
おいて同定でき、このホモログはゲノム配列データから同定できたが、この遺伝
子または遺伝子産物の特性については、全く注釈が得られなかった。このS.p
yogenesホモログを用いて公表されたデータベースをサーチしたが、それ
以上の情報は全く得られなかった。このpho3−14産物は、リーダーレスp
hoA遺伝子に相補性であったので、このたんぱく質(またはその一部)が細胞
外に局在する可能性が極めて高いであろうと結論できる。
このプラスミドは、前記のリーダーレスphoAに相補性の遺伝子(またはその
部分)を含んでいた。このヌクレオチドおよび推定アミノ酸配列を、配列番号1
8および19として示した。
cus mutansおよびLactococcus lactis中で同定で
き、N−アセチルムラミダーゼに対する類似性が示された。類似性は、また、非
同定遺伝子であるBacillus subtilis由来のyueEについて
も見られる。
定された情報をpho3−17がリーダーレスphoA遺伝子と相互性であった
という事実とともに用いて、pho3−17産物が、細胞外に局在する可能性が
極めて高いであろうと結論できる。
このプラスミドは、前記のリーダーレスphoAに相補性の遺伝子(またはその
部分)を含んでいた。このヌクレオチドおよび推定アミノ酸配列を、配列番号2
0および21として示した。
cus pyogenesおよびStreptococcus pneumon

ctobacillus reuteri(cnb)中で同定できる。このS.

れなかった。L.fermentumにおいて、bspA遺伝子産物は、菌溶質

たんぱく質として同定されている(Turner、M.S.ら、1997、J.
Bacteriol.179:3310−3316)。L.reuteriにお
いて、cnb遺伝子産物は、菌ABCトランスポーターの溶質結合成分に対して
やや配列類似性を有しているコラーゲン結合たんぱく質として同定されている(
Roos、S.ら、1996、FEMS Microbiol.Lett.14
4:33−38)。
このプラスミドは、前記のリーダーレスphoAに相補性の遺伝子(またはその
部分)を含んでいた。このヌクレオチドおよび推定アミノ酸配列を、配列番号2
6および27として示した。
us faecalis、Streptococcus equisimili
s(lppC)、Pseudomonas fluorescens(oprI
)およびStreptococcus thermophilus(orf14
2)中で同定できる。このEnterococcus faecalisホモロ
グは、ゲノム配列データから同定し、この遺伝子または遺伝子産物の特性につい
ては、全く注釈が得られなかった。S.equisimilisにおいて、lp
pC遺伝子は、Haemophilus influenzae由来のE(P4
)外膜たんぱく質に相同なリポプロテインとして同定されている(Gase、K
.ら、1997.Med.Microbiol.Immunol.186:63
−73)。同様に、P.fluorescens oprI遺伝子は、主要外膜
リポプロテインをコードする(Cornelis、P.ら、1989.Mol.
Microbiol.3:421−428)。S.thermophilusに
おいて、orf142産物は、バクテリオファージTP−J34およびSfi2
1のためのレセプターとして作用することができる細胞表面露出リポプロテイン
として推定上同定されている(Neve、H.ら、1998.Virology
241:61−72)。このORF3−22産物は、上記のホモログに対して
特にN末端において良好な類似性を示した。これは、リーダーレスphoA遺伝
子の相補性に必要な領域である可能性が高く、従って、リーダー配列として作用
する。
このプラスミドは、前記のリーダーレスphoAに相補性の遺伝子(またはその
部分)を含んでいた。このヌクレオチドおよび推定アミノ酸配列を、配列番号2
8および29として示した。
cus pyogenes、Streptococcus pneumonia
e、Enterococcus faecalisおよびStreptococ
cus mutans(perM)中で同定できる。このS.pyogenes
、S.pneumoniaeおよびE.faecalisホモログは、ゲノム配
列データから同定し、この遺伝子または遺伝子産物の特性については、全く注釈
が得られなかった。S.mutansにおいて、perM遺伝子産物は、パーミ
アーゼとして推定的に同定されているが、このタンパク質の機能に関する他の情

伝子に相補性であることを考えると、pho3−17遺伝子産物が細胞外に局在
しているであろうと結論できる。

部分)を含んでいた。このヌクレオチドおよび推定アミノ酸配列を、配列番号3
0および31として示した。
cus mutans(dltB)、Streptococcus pneum
oniae、Streptococcus pyogenes、Enteroc
occus faecalis、Lactobacillus casey(d
ltB)およびBacillus subtilis(dltB)中で同定でき
る。このS.pneumoniae、S.pyogenesおよびE.faec
alisホモログはゲノム配列データから同定し、この遺伝子または遺伝子産物
の特性については、全く注釈が得られなかった。S.mutans、L.cas
eiおよびB.subtilisにおいて、dltB遺伝子産物は細胞膜を介し
た活性化D−アラニンのトランスポートに関与する塩基性膜タンパク質として同
定されている。このdltB遺伝子産物は、D−アラニル−リポテイコ酸の生合
成に関与している(Heaton、M.P.およびF.C.Neuhaus.1
992.J.Bacteriol.174:4707−4717)。L.cas
eiおよびB.subtilisにおいて、dltB遺伝子産物は少なくとも9
個の膜分布ドメインを有していると考えられており、このことは、前記タンパク
質またはその部分が細胞外部に露出していることを示唆している。

urgdorferi(p23またはospC)、Bacillus brev
is(owp)およびPseudomonas aeruginosa(opr

コッカス(penA、pbp2B、pbpB2)、Borrelia burg
dorferi(pbp2)、Enterococcus faecalis(
pbpC)、Staphylococcus aureus(pbpA)、My
cobacterium leprae(pbpB)およびHelicobac
ter pylori(pbp2)中で同定できる。すべての場合において、上
記のホモログは、ペニシリン結合タンパク質(PBPs)として同定できる。ペ
ニシリン結合タンパク質をコードする遺伝子は、しばしば、細胞壁合成に関連す
る遺伝子クラスターに局在する(Pucci、M.J.ら、1997.J.Ba
cteriol.179:5632−5635)。さらに、PBPは、典型的に
