、軸方向14におけるクッションの長さl (即ち、2枚のプレート間の間隔) の変
化の関数として示す曲線Cの軌跡である。この曲線は、同じ条件下でクッション
10の機械的反応Rも表す。この曲線Cは直線ではない。さらに、これはヒステリ
シス形状を有する。即ち、起点0からの圧縮力Fの増大を示す曲線Caは、起点ま
で戻る圧縮力Fの減少を示す曲線Cdとは別個の曲線であって、その全体が後者の
曲線より上にある。この顕著なヒステリシス形状は、主にボディーの粘弾性材料
に起因するが、ボディー12と流体とによるクッション10の組合わせにも副次的に
は起因している。
部分Ca1 と、その後に続くより急激な勾配の部分Ca2 とを示す。圧縮力Fの減少
を示す方の曲線Cdは、圧縮力Fの最大値の付近では急勾配の部分Cd1 を示し、そ
の後に続く圧縮力Fの最小値の付近では、より緩やかな勾配の部分Cd2 を示す。
曲線CaおよびCdについて、起点付近に緩やかな勾配の部分が存在するのは主にボ
ディー12とプレート4の接触面18, 20の形状に起因し、その結果として、各プレ
ートとボディーとの間の相互接触領域 (一般に円形) の表面積は、圧縮力Fが増
大するにつれて増大する。この増大は、接触領域の表面積が最大に達するまで続
き、その時点でボディーの端面18はその全体がプレート4に接触するようになっ
ている。

を特徴とする、椎間板補綴具。 - 【請求項2】 流体が、これがボディーより圧縮性が高くなるような圧力を
有することを特徴とする、請求項1記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項3】 流体がガスからなることを特徴とする、請求項1または2記
載の補綴具。 - 【請求項4】 流体圧力がプレート(4) に直接加えられるようにクッション
(10)が構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の
補綴具。 - 【請求項5】 流体がボディー(12)の周囲を包囲していることを特徴とする
、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項6】 ボディー(12)が粘弾性材料、特にシリコーンから構成される
ことを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項7】 ボディー(12)が、プレート(4) の一方との接触領域を有する
少なくとも1つの端面(18)を有する補綴具であって、ボディー(12)の方向にプレ
ート(4) に加わる応力を増大させると、前記接触領域の表面積が増大するように
構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具
。 - 【請求項8】 接触領域がプレートの1つの面とボディーの1つの端面とに
より規定され、この2つの面(18, 20)の一方(18)、特にボディー(12)の面(18)が
凸面に湾曲し、他方の面(20)が平面であることを特徴とする、請求項7記載の補
綴具。 - 【請求項9】 接触領域がプレートの1つの面とボディーの1つの端面とに
より規定され、この2つの面(18, 20)の面が少なくとも1つの共通方向に湾曲し
ており、その一方が凹面で他方が凸面であり、凹面(20)の少なくとも1つの曲率
半径が凸面(18)の対応する曲率半径より大きいことを特徴とする、請求項7記載
の補綴具。 - 【請求項10】 ボディーの少なくとも1つの端面が、プレートの一方と接
触しており、この端面がプレートと平行な方向にプレートに対して自由に移動で
きることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項11】 ボディーの端部(18)が、ボディーに対する横方向停止部を
形成するようにした、プレート(4) に設けた凹部(32)内に収容されていることを
特徴とする、請求項10記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項12】 クッション(10)が、中に流体が入っている包囲壁(22)を含
み、プレート(4) に平行なその断面表面積が、2枚のプレート間でのクッション
の圧縮に変動が起こった時にも本質的に不変であるようにクッションが構成され
ていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項13】 クッション(10)が、中に流体が入っている包囲壁(22)を含
み、この壁がボディーをそれから一定間隔で包囲していることを特徴とする、請
求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項14】 包囲壁(22)がバネ、特に圧縮バネを形成していることを特
徴とする、請求項12または13記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項15】 クッション(10)が、圧縮(F) の方向(14)におけるクッショ
ン(10)の寸法(l) の変化 (Δl)の関数としての圧縮(F) に対する機械的反応(R)
のヒステリシス形状の曲線(C) を示すように構成されていることを特徴とする、
請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項16】 クッション(10)が、圧縮(F) に対する反応(R) の増大が、
比較的高い反応(R) 値(Ca2) に対してより、比較的低い反応(R) 値(Ca1) に対し
て、より緩やかとなるように構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項15記載の
補綴具。 - 【請求項17】 クッション(10)が、圧縮(F) に対する反応の減少が、比較
的低い反応(R) 値(Cd2) に対してより、比較的高い反応(R) 値(Cd1) に対して、
より急激となるように構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項15または16記載
の補綴具。 - 【請求項18】 圧縮(F) に対する反応(R) が、これが減少する時(Cd)より
、これが増大する時(Ca)の方がより高い値をとるように、クッション(10)が構成
されていることを特徴とする、請求項15〜17のいずれか1項に記載の補綴具。 - 【請求項19】 対象とする補綴具が腰部の椎間板補綴具であることを特徴
