However, in the conventional configuration shown in FIG. 3, the semiconductor light emitting element 7 is fixed to the circuit board 6 and the light guide member 3 is fixed to the display device 1 as follows. Problem. First, when the semiconductor light emitting device 7 abuts on the light guide member 3 in a state where the display device 1 is mounted on the circuit board 6, stress is generated because both are rigid bodies, and the semiconductor light emitting device 7 having a brittle composition is destroyed. A so-called crash phenomenon occurs.

In order to avoid this, it is necessary to provide a gap d between the upper surface of the semiconductor light emitting element 7 and the bottom surface of the light guide member 3 in a built-in state in terms of design dimensions. However, it is known that, when an air layer is interposed in an optical path in an optical device, the attenuation of light increases and the efficiency decreases. This is a very important problem in a lighting device of a portable small electronic device using a semiconductor light emitting element having a small light quantity as a light source.

In addition, when the semiconductor light emitting element 7 is mounted on the light source drive electrode 6b of the circuit board 6 by using solder, it is difficult to obtain the height accuracy after the mounting of the semiconductor light emitting element 7, so that the design value should be adjusted in consideration of this. Since it is necessary to determine the gap, the gap d in the completed state is actually as large as 0.3 to 0.5 mm in consideration of mass production, and the accompanying decrease in the amount of light is a major problem as a lighting device.

As described above, according to the present invention, a semiconductor light emitting device which emits light by being connected to an electrode on a circuit board, and a light guide member which guides light emitted from the semiconductor light emitting device to a display device such as a liquid crystal are provided. In the lighting device, the electrode on the circuit board and the semiconductor light emitting element are electrically connected by an elastic connector, and the semiconductor light emitting element and the light guide member are optically pressed by elastic contact of the elastic connector. This enabled high-efficiency illumination with little loss and prevented the semiconductor light emitting element from being destroyed due to a crash at the time of assembly. Furthermore, by integrating the elastic connector with the semiconductor light emitting element, the incorporation can be improved, and by integrating the semiconductor light emitting element and the elastic connector into the display device, the incorporation as a device can be improved.
