Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushion envelope having a plastic foamed sheet inside an envelope made of craft paper which is free from uneasiness about strength at both side rims wherein the envelope is convenient to separate for collection of paper and a plastic when it is disposed of after use, and to provide a method of manufacturing such an envelope. SOLUTION: An approximately rectangular piece of craft paper (1) is two- folded so that one of sections is slightly longer than the other section to provide a base (12), and both sides (15A and 15B) are stuck to form an envelope. A cushion made of a plastic foamed sheet (2) which is two-folded so that both sections are of the same length to provide a base is put inside the envelope. Both ends (21A and 21B) of the foamed sheet are heat-sealed with the craft paper at an opening of the envelope, and an edge of the foamed sheet is overlaid on the craft paper at both side rims of the envelope for sticking. Both side rims of the overlaid foamed sheet are located inside both overlaid side rims of the craft paper and heat-sealed. Thus, only the craft paper is stuck at the outermost region.

[0002] The term "kraft paper" is a generic term for relatively durable paper used for medium to large envelopes. “Plastic foam sheet” (hereinafter abbreviated as “foam sheet”) is usually made of polyethylene,
A cap film having a large number of projections formed by vacuum forming and a flat back film are bonded together at the bottom of the cap to form a large number of sealed air qualities. There is also a three-layer structure in which the top of the cap is connected and another flat film called a liner film is laminated.

2. Description of the Related Art A so-called cushioning envelope formed by combining kraft paper and a bubble sheet has a variety of structures and forms depending on the shape of an article to be accommodated and the required cushioning performance. Proposed and put to practical use. In recent years, as environmental problems have come to the fore, a need has arisen for the possibility of separating and collecting materials when disposing of a buffer envelope after use. For example, it is very difficult or impossible to separate a foam sheet in which the foam sheet is firmly attached to the entire surface of the kraft paper, which is not preferable. Therefore, the appearance of a buffer envelope capable of easily separating both is required.

[0004] One proposal for addressing this requirement is Japanese Patent No. 2978161 entitled "Envelope". This envelope has excellent cushioning and waterproof properties and is recyclable. A bubble sheet (bubble sheet), which is overlapped two sheets, is interposed between the opposing paper sheets on the entire surface, and the opening edge of the envelope is opened. The entire length of the overlapping open edges other than the edge portion is heat sealed between the bubble sheets, and the paper sheet and the bubble sheet are also heat welded and sealed. Here, an adhesive is interposed between each of the paper sheets and the bubble sheet at the edges serving as the opening edges, and the paper sheet and the bubble sheet are thermally welded with the aid of the adhesive.

With such a structure, even if it is recyclable, it takes a lot of trouble to separate paper and plastic. First, the envelope opening must be pulled open to the bottom. Then, it is necessary to peel off the heat-welded portion between the paper and the plastic over four rounds. This means
This is as shown in FIG.

Further, as can be understood from the cross-sectional view of FIG. 2, the strength of both edges of the envelope of the above patent is determined by the adhesive strength of paper and plastic by thermal welding and the adhesive strength of plastic by thermal welding. Dependent. If these adhesive strengths are strong, separation is not easy. On the other hand, if the adhesive strength is weak, the separation is easy, but the strength as the envelope is uneasy and is useless.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the buffer envelope of the present invention, which is easy to separate and collect at the time of disposal, has a substantially rectangular kraft paper blank (1) folded on one side from the other side. An envelope formed by folding it in half so as to be longer by the piece (11) to form the bottom side (12) and bonding both sides (15A, 15B), and a rectangular bubble sheet (2) inside the envelope. In a buffer envelope in which a buffer material is present in which the both sides have the same length and a fold is located on the bottom side, both ends (21A, 21B) of the plastic bubble sheet are wrapped with kraft paper at the opening of the envelope. The foam sheet (2) and the kraft paper blank (1) are superposed and adhered on both sides of the envelope, except for the side edges (22) of the superimposed foam sheet.
A, 22B) are inside the overlapped side edges (16A, 16B) of the kraft paper blank (1),
The outermost part is characterized in that only kraft paper is bonded.

The characteristics of the shock-absorbing envelope obtained by the above process are as shown in FIG. 4 in which one side cross section is enlarged, and both side edges (22A, 22B) of the superimposed bubble sheet are superposed by kraft paper. Only the kraft paper is adhered to the outermost sides on both sides of the envelope, which are inside and adhered to both side edges (16A, 16B). In order to ensure such adhesion, it is preferable to use a seal bar (5) having a step as shown in FIG. By using the stepped seal bar, the paper and the paper are sufficiently bonded, and the bubble sheets are also well bonded to each other. However, since the paper and the foam sheet are different materials, they do not adhere well unless special measures such as use of an adhesive are taken.

The adhesive strength between the foam sheets is determined by the welding strength of the plastic, and the adhesive strength between the kraft paper and the foam sheet is, of course, determined by the strength at which the plastic is welded to the paper. What is important in the present invention is that, unlike the prior art envelopes described above, the strength of the sides of the envelope is determined primarily by the strength of the bond between the papers. That is, in the envelope of the present invention, neither the welding strength of the plastic nor the strength of the welding of the plastic to the paper has much influence on the strength of the envelope itself.

Looking at this fact in reverse, in the envelope of the present invention, both the welding strength of the plastic and the strength of the welding of the plastic to the paper are low and may be acceptable. Of course, if the strength of the plastic welded to the paper is too low, the bubble sheet will easily peel off from the kraft paper at the opening of the envelope, making it difficult to use as an envelope, so some strength must be secured,
Not much strength is required. In this way, in the present invention, the strength as an envelope can be secured while the welding strength of the bubble sheet to the kraft paper is selected to be low.

[0015] In order to make the bonding strength between papers sufficient,
It is effective to apply an undercoating agent for helping the paper and the plastic adhere to the inner surface of the paper envelope. Such an undercoating agent can be easily applied, for example, by applying an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol, an aqueous solution of CMC, or an aqueous dispersion of starch. This primer is
Those which do not hinder the paper recycling process and do not increase the cost are preferable. In view of these points, starch is the most suitable. The mechanism by which starch works effectively is understood to be that it adheres to the kraft paper together with the dispersed water, gelatinizes by the heat of the heat seal and bonds the paper together.

If the buffer envelope of the present invention is used, if the user puts his hand inside the envelope, grasps the free bubble sheet near the bottom and pulls out, the adhesive strength between the kraft paper and the bubble sheet is low. , The foam sheet easily peels off the kraft paper. At this time, the adhesive force between the foam sheets is high,
Since the adhesive strength between the papers is strong, both the kraft paper and the bubble sheet, which constitute the envelope, are separated while maintaining the shape of the bag. In this way, like a prior art envelope,
Paper and plastic can be separated with little force without having to open the entire envelope.

According to the buffer envelope of the present invention, since both sides of the kraft paper blank constituting the outer side of the envelope are firmly adhered to each other between the papers, when the contents are put into the envelope and used as an envelope, the buffer envelope has an increased strength. There is no worry about. On the other hand, when used and discarded, separating paper and plastic can be performed quite easily with a small force. The fact that separation is easy means that the degree of entry of foreign matter into the separated and recovered material is extremely low, and that the resource can be recovered in a substantially pure form.
