Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.ホール効果プラズマ加速器であって、閉鎖端および開放端を有する実質的に 環状の加速チャンネルと、該チャンネルの両側に設けられた複数の磁性部材と を具備し、これら複数の磁性部材の各磁性体は一対の磁極を形成し、また前記 チャンネル内に磁界を形成するために、夫々の磁性体が物理的も、実質的に磁 気的にも、前記磁性部材の他の何れの磁性体からも分離されているプラズマ加 速器。 2.前記磁性部材が、 前記加速器の軸と同軸の円筒壁部分を有する外側磁性体と、 前記円筒壁部分の下流端にあり且つ第一の磁極を定義する第一の末端ピース と、 前記チャンネルの上流端および下流端との間で離間した第二の磁極を定義す るように、前記円筒壁部分から半径方向内側へと延び、次いで軸方向下流側へ と延びる第二の末端ピースとを具備する、請求項1に記載の加速器。 3.前記外側磁性体が、前記第二の末端ピースの円筒状部分(この部分は軸方向 下流側へと延びている)を取り囲み、且つ前記円筒状部分と前記円筒壁部分と の間に位置する第一の磁力源を更に具備する、請求項2に記載の加速器。 4.前記第一の磁力源がコイルである、請求項3に記載の加速器。 5.前記第一の磁力源が永久磁石である、請求項3に記載の加速器。 6.前記磁性部材が、 ほぼスプール形状を有すると共に、軸方向に延びる中央部分と、 該中央部分の下流端にあり、且つ前記チャンネルに向けて半径方向外側へと 延びて第一の磁極を形成する第一の末端ピースと、 前記中央部分の上流端から半径方向外側に延びる第二の末端ピースと、 前記第二の末端ピースから下流方向に延びて第二の磁極で終端する円筒壁と を有する内側磁性体を具備する、請求項1に記載の加速器。 7.前記内側磁性体が、前記内側磁性体の中央部分を取り囲む第二の磁力源を具 備する、請求項6に記載の加速器。 8.前記第二の磁力源がコイルである、請求項7に記載の加速器。 9.前記第二の磁力源が永久磁石である、請求項7に記載の加速器。 10.前記磁性部材が、 前記加速器軸と同軸の円筒壁部分と、 該円筒壁部分の下流端にあり、且つ前記内側磁性体の対応する第一の磁極と は逆極性の第一の磁極を定義する第一の末端ピースと、 前記円筒壁部分から半径方向内側に延び、次いで軸方向下流側に延びて、前 記チャンネルの上流端と下流端との間の離間した第二の磁極を定義する第二の 末端ピースとを更に具備する、請求項6,7,8または9のいずれか一項に記 載の加速器。 11.前記外側磁性体が、前記第二の末端ピースの円筒部分(該部分は軸方向下流 側に延び、前記円筒部分と円筒壁部分との間に位置する)を取り囲む第一の磁 力源を具備する、請求項10に記載の加速器。 12.前記第一の磁力源がコイルである、請求項11に記載の加速器。 13.前記第一の磁力源が永久磁石である、請求項11に記載の加速器。
