Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.(a)暴風雨水から汚染物質を除去することができる材料により構成され たベツドを収容したバスケットの透水性の周外壁を通して暴風雨水を濾過する工 程と、 (b)バスケット内のベツドを暴風雨水を通すことにより、暴風雨水から汚染 物質を除去することにより暴風雨水を処理する工程と、 (c)前記バスケットの内側ドレイン空間と処理された水の出口ダクトとの間 に連続した流体接続を確立する工程と、 (d)重力により、ドレイン空間から、処理された水の出口ダクトへ処理され た水をサイホン効果により供給する工程と、 (e)バスケットを通る暴風雨水の流量をベツドの初期濾過能力よりも低い流 量に制御し、この制御された低い流量は、暴風雨水流とベツドとの間に充分な接 触を果たさせて暴風雨水流から実質的な割合の少なくとも1つの汚染物質を除去 する工程と、を具備する暴風雨水流を処理する方法。 2.前記工程(a)は、暴風雨水がベツドを水平に流れることが可能なように し、バスケットの透水性周外壁とバスケットの透水性内壁との間の空間に配置さ れている、請求項1の方法。 3.前記バスケットの透水性外壁は、ほぼ筒状であり。バスケット中へ濾過さ せることは、(1)ほぼ筒状の透水性周壁と、(2)ほぼ筒状の外壁と、この外 壁と同心的な透水性の内壁との間の環状空間内に配置され、汚染物質を吸収する ことができるベツド材料と、(3)前記内壁とを通って、(4)バスケットの処 理された水の出口と流体的に連通した、バスケットの筒状内側ドレイン空間中へ と径方向内方に暴風雨水が流れることを可能にする、請求項2の方法。 4.前記汚染物質を除去することにより処理する工程は、堆積物、バーミキュ ライト、活性炭素、ゼオライト、パーライト、イオン交換媒体、ピート、並びに 砂床からなるグループから選ばれたベツドに暴風雨水を通すことにより除去する ことを含む、請求項1の方法。 5.前記汚染物質を除去することにより処理する工程は、堆積物、バーミキュ ライト、活性炭素、ゼオライト、パーライト、イオン交換媒体、ピート、並びに 砂ペレットからなるペレットのグループから選ばれたペレットを有するベッドに 暴風雨水を通すことにより除去することを含む、請求項1の方法。 6.前記流量の制御は、前記ベツドの下流側のバスケットの出口ダクト内に設 けられた流れ規制体によりなされる、請求項1の方法。 7.前記流量の制御は、前記ベツドの出口側下流のバスケットの処理された水 の出口ダクト内に設けられ、所定の径を有するオリフィスを備えたオリフィス板 によりなされる、請求項1の方法。 8.(i)バスケットを囲んだ透水性の外壁と、 (ii)この外壁に所定間隔を有して囲まれた、透水性の内壁と、 (iii)前記両壁間の流体的連通がなされながら、外壁と内壁との間に配設さ れ、暴風雨水から汚染物質を除去することができるベツドと、 (iv)このベツドと流体的に連通され、前記内壁により規定されたドレイン空 間と、を有する (a)バスケットと、 (b)前記ドレイン空間から延出し、バスケットの初期濾過能力よりも小さい 流量にバスケットを通る暴風雨水の初期流量を制御する流れ規制体を有する出口 ダクトと、を具備し、 前記ドレイン空間が水で少なくとも部分的に充填されたときに、処理された水 がサイホン効果によりドレイン空間からて出口ダクト中に流れる、暴風雨水流か ら汚染物質を除去するための装置。 9.前記外壁は、ほぼ筒状である請求項8の装置。 10.前記内壁は、ほぼ筒状である請求項9の装置。 11.前記流れ規制体は、出口ダクト内の流れを制御する弁を有し、この弁は 、閉じられたときに、ドレイン空間からの出口ダクト内の流れを規制でき、また 、開かれたときには、出口ダクト内の流れを可能にする、請求項8の装置。 12.前記出口ダクト内の流れを制御する弁は、 (a)出口ダクトの開口を部分的に覆って、出口ダクト内の処理された暴風雨 水の流れを規制する弁部材と、 (b)この弁部材から、ドレイン空間の上方に装着されたフロートへと延びた リンクとを有し、ドレイン空間が暴風雨水で充填されると、フロートが弁部材を 持ち上げるように上昇してバスケットの出口ダクトを開成するように、フロート はドレイン空間と流体的に流通している、請求項11の装置。 13.吸着剤は、堆積物、バーミキュライト、活性炭素、ゼオライト、パーラ イト、イオン交換媒体、ピート、並びに砂からなるグループから選ばれている、 請求項8の装置。 14.吸着剤はペレットの形状をしており、これらペレットは、堆積物、バー ミキュライト、活性炭素、ゼオライト、パーライト、イオン交換媒体、ピート、 並びに砂ペレットからなるペレットのグループから選ばれたペレットからなる、 請求項8の装置。 15.吸着剤はペレットの形状をしており、これらペレットは、約1/8ない し約3/8インチの寸法である、請求項8の装置。 16.バスケットの出口ダクト内に流れ規制弁をさらに具備する請求項8の装 置。 17.バスケットの出口ダクト内に流れ規制オリフィス板をさらに具備する請 求項8の装置。 18.暴風雨水流から汚染物質を除去するための装置であり、この装置は、 (a)装置中に流される暴風雨水を受けるための暴風雨水鎮め容器と、 (b)この溜め容器から、微粒子の鎮めの後に、暴風雨水を受けることの可能 な水の処理領域とを具備し、この処理領域は、 (i)各々が、透水性の周囲壁と、この周囲壁とは離間して間に空間を規定し た透水性の内壁と、この空間内に収容され、暴風雨水から汚染物質を除去可能な ベツド材と、透水性のメッシュ内壁により規定され、処理された水の排出のため にバスケットから延出した出口ダクトと流体的に連通した内側ドレイン空間とを 有する、少なくとも2つのバスケットと、 (ii)これら少なくとも2つのバスケットの各々の出口ダクトと流体的に連通 された共通のドレインダクトと、(iii)前記内側ドレイン空間が暴風雨水で満 たされたときに充分に開き、出口ダクトを通ってドレインダクトに入る暴風雨 水の流れを規制するためのサイホンプライミング弁と、 (iv)このサイポンプライミング弁の下流側に設けられ、暴風雨水が装置内で 処理されているときに、少なくとも2つのバスケットの初期濾過能力よりも低い 第1の流量に流れを規制可能な流れ規制体とを有し、 暴風雨水がスレッショールド流量以上で装置中に入ったときに、少なくとも2 つのバスケットの各々の内側ドレイン空間は処理された水が充填され、また、流 体的な流通がドレイン空間と共通のドレインラインとの間に確立されて、ドレイ ン空間からドレインライン中へのサイホン効果により水の供給が果たされる、装 置。 19.透水性のメッシュ周囲壁はほぼ筒状をし、また、透水性の内壁はほぼ筒 状をし、ベツド材は、これら壁間の環状空間内に配置されている請求項18の装 置。 20.吸収材のベツドは、堆積物、バーミキュライト、活性炭素、ゼオライト 、パーライト、イオン交換媒体、ピート、並びに砂床からなるグループから選ば れた材料のベツドである、請求項18の装置。 21.前記暴風雨水の流れを規制するための弁は、暴風雨水流がスレッショー ルドレベル以下で装置中に入ったときに、出口を通る流れを規制するように出口 ダクトの開口を部分的に覆う球状の弁部材と、この弁部材から、前記ドレイン空 間の上方に設けられたフロートへと延びたリンクとを有し、ドレイン空間が水で 充填されると、フロートがボールを持ち上げるように上昇して、ドレイン空間か ら共通のドレインコンダクト中へ処理された水をサイホン効果により供給するよ うに、ドレイン空間と共通のドレインダクトとの間の流体的連通を果たすように 、前記フロートはドレイン空間と流体的に連通している請求項18の装置。 22.前記少なくとも2つのバスケットの各々のベツド材は、周囲壁と内壁と の間の空間に適合する寸法の着脱可能な透水性容器内に収容されている請求項1 8の装置。
