Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 ジアミン腐食防止剤を含有するグリース 発明の説明 本発明は、潤滑粘度を有する主成分の基油と、増稠剤と、次式 〔式中、RおよびR'は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、C1〜C30炭化水素基 である〕で表される副成分のジアミン添加剤とを含んでなる潤滑グリースである 。グリースに添加される該ジアミン添加剤の量は、0.01〜10重量％であってよい 。本発明は、また、グリースに上記のジアミン添加剤を導入することによってグ リースの耐食性を増強する方法に関する。発明の詳細な説明 潤滑粘度を有する主成分の基油（天然油、合成油、または天然油と合成油との 混合物のいずれであってもよい）と、増稠剤（単純または複合リチウム石鹸増稠 剤、単純または複合カルシウム石鹸増稠剤、リチウムとカルシウムとの混合型の 単純または複合石鹸増稠剤、アルミニウム石鹸増稠剤、ウレア、ジウレア、トリ ウレア、またはポリウレア増稠剤のような従来型の金属石鹸および金属塩のいず れであってもよい）と、次式 〔式中、RおよびR'は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、C1〜C30炭化水素基 である〕で表される副成分の添加剤とを含んでなるグリース配合物を開示する。 このほかに少量の他の従来型添加剤がグリース配合物中に含まれていてもよい。 このような追加される他の添加剤としては、極圧剤、酸化防止剤、染料、他の防 錆剤／腐食防止剤、粘着剤、油性剤、粘度指数向上剤などが挙げられる。 本発明のグリース組成物の調製に使用する潤滑油ベースストックは、慣用され る鉱油、合成炭化水素油、または合成エステル油のいずれであってもよい。一般 的には、これらの潤滑油は、100℃において約5〜500cst(mm2/s)の範囲の粘度を もつであろう。グリースの調製に使用する鉱物潤滑油ベースストックは、パラフ ィン基原油、ナフテン基原油、および混合基原油から誘導される従来型精製ベー スストックのいずれであってもよい。従来の精製技術としては、蒸留、溶剤脱蝋 または接触脱蝋、溶剤抽出、水素化仕上、水素化分解、ビスブレーキングなどが 挙げられる。使用可能な合成潤滑油としては、C6〜C15アルコールのような線状 もしくは分枝状脂肪族アルコールと反応させた二塩基酸のエステル、例えば、ジ -2-エチルヘキシルセバケート；グリコールのエステル、例えば、テトラエチレ ングリコールのC13オキソ酸ジエステル；またはコンプレックスエステル、例え ば、セバシン酸1モルとテトラエチレングリコール2モルと2-エチルヘキサン酸2 モルとから得られる化合物が挙げられる。使用可能な他の合成油としては、アル キルベンゼンのような合 成炭化水素、例えば、テトラプロピレンを用いてまたはエチレンとプロピレンと のコポリマを用いてベンゼンをアルキル化することにより得られるアルキレート ボトム；シリコーン油、例えば、エチルフェニルポリシロキサン、メチルポリシ ロキサンなど；ポリグリコール油、例えば、ブチルアルコールとプロピレンオキ シドとを縮合させることにより得られる化合物；炭酸エステル、例えば、C6オキ ソアルコールとエチルカーボネートとを反応させて半エステルを形成し、これを テトラエチレングリコールと反応させることにより得られる化合物などが挙げら れる。他の好適な合成油としては、ポリフェニルエーテル、例えば、約3〜7個の 結合を有しかつ約4〜8個のフェニル基を有する化合物が挙げられる。 他の好適な油は、脂肪族ポリオールとカルボン酸とを反応させることにより得 られるポリオールエステル油である。脂肪族ポリオールには、4〜15個の炭素原 子が含まれ、2〜8個のエステル化しうるヒドロキシル基が含まれる。ポリオール としては、例えば、トリメチロールプロパン、ペンタエリスリトール、ジペンタ エリスリトール、ネオペンチルグリコール、トリペンタエリスリトール、および それらの混合物が挙げられる。カルボン酸反応体は、脂肪族モノカルボン酸また は脂肪族モノカルボン酸の混合物または脂肪族モノカルボン酸と脂肪族ジカルボ ン酸との混合物から選ばれる。カルボン酸には4〜12個の炭素が含まれ、こうし たカルボン酸としては直鎖および分枝鎖のカルボン酸が挙げられる。 合成油のグループに属する油としては、タールサンドから回収される油、貞岩 油、合成ガス（ＣＯおよび水素）を炭化水素に変換するフィッシャー・トロプシ ュプロセスなどを介して得られる軽質炭化水素、天然 石油蝋（すなわち、粗蝋）もしくは合成蝋（すなわち、フィッシャー・トロプシ ュ蝋）またはこのような蝋の混合物を接触水素異性化することにより得られる蝋 異性化油が挙げられる。蝋異性化についての説明および蝋異性化により得られる 油に関しては、米国特許第5,059,299号および同第5,158,671号を参照されたい。 他の合成油としては、ポリオレフィン、例えば、ポリブテン、ポリイソブテン、 特に、ポリαオレフィン、すなわち、6〜20個の炭素、好ましくは8〜16個の炭素 、より好ましくは10〜12個の炭素、最も好ましくは10個の炭素を有する少なくと も１種の1-アルカン炭化水素のオリゴマー化により得られる流体が挙げられる。 水素化オリゴマーが好ましく、1-デセンから得られる水素化オリゴマーは、特に 好ましい。 本発明のグリース配合物に有用な増稠剤としては、単純および複合リチウム石 鹸、好ましくは、複合リチウム石鹸、単純および複合カルシウム石鹸、混合リチ ウム−カルシウム石鹸、およびポリウレアが挙げられる。 ポリウレア増稠剤は、当技術分野で周知である。これらの増稠剤は、アミンま たはアミン混合物およびポリアミンまたはポリアミン混合物と、1種以上のジイ ソシアネートおよび必要に応じて1種以上のイソシアネートとを反応させること により得られる。この反応は、上に列挙した物質から選ばれた一群の反応体を一 緒に約15℃〜160℃の反応容器中で0.5〜5時間にわたり反応させることにより実 施することができる。通常、溶剤中で反応が行われ、グリースを製造する場合に は、最終グリース配合物中で使用される基油の一部分が溶剤にあてられる。ポリ ウレア増稠 剤の製造についての詳細な説明は、米国特許第4,929,371号中に見出すことがで きる。 グリース配合物中で増稠剤として使用するための単純および複合リチウムまた はカルシウム石鹸およびそれらの製造方法についても、グリース取扱者には周知 である。単純石鹸は、1種以上の脂肪酸、ヒドロキシ脂肪酸、またはそれらのエ ステルを、好適な溶剤中で、通常はグリース基油中で一緒にし、これらの酸また はエステルを、適切な塩基、例えば、LiOHまたはCaOHと反応させることにより製 造される。複合リチウムまたはカルシウム石鹸増稠剤は、1種以上の脂肪酸、ヒ ドロキシ脂肪酸、またはそれらのエステルを、好適な溶剤中で、通常はグリース 基油中で、適切な複合化剤（complexing agent）と一緒にし、この混合物を、適 切な塩基、例えば、LiOHまたはCaOHと反応させることにより調製される。 複合化剤は、典型的には、1種以上のジカルボン酸もしくはそれらのエステルま たは1種以上のC2〜C6短鎖カルボン酸もしくはそれらのエステルからなる。 本発明のグリースに利用される増稠剤の製造で使用される脂肪酸またはヒドロ キシ脂肪酸は、12〜24個の炭素原子を有する。従って、C12〜C24脂肪酸または9- 、10-、もしくは12-ヒドロキシC12〜C24脂肪酸のリチウム塩またはカルシウム塩 あるいはそれらのエステルが使用される。 リチウム複合石鹸は、C12〜C24脂肪酸、ヒドロキシ脂肪酸、またはそれらのエ ステルと、C2〜C12ジカルボン酸複合化剤との両方を使用して調製される。従っ て、好適な酸としては、ヒドロキシステアリン酸、例 えば、9-ヒドロキシ、10-ヒドロキシ、または12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸が挙げ られる。不飽和の脂肪酸もしくはヒドロキシ脂肪酸またはそれらのエステル、例 えば、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の不飽和型であり9〜10位に二重結合を有する レシノール酸、ならびに各酸のエステルを使用することもできる。使用されるC2 〜C12ジカルボン酸は、1種以上の直鎖もしくは分枝鎖C2〜C12ジカルボン酸、好 ましくはC4〜C12、より好ましくはC6〜C10ジカルボン酸またはそれらのモノ−も しくはジ−エステルであろう。好適な例としては、シュウ酸、マロン酸、コハク 酸、グルタル酸、アジピン酸、スベリン酸、ピメリン酸、アゼライン酸、ドデカ ン二酸、セバシン酸、およびそれらのモノ−もしくはジ−エステルが挙げられる 。アジピン酸、セバシン酸、アゼライン酸、およひそれらの混合物、好ましくは 、セバシン酸、アゼライン酸、およびそれらの混合物は、複合リチウム石鹸グリ ースベースの製造に使用されるジカルボン酸として利用される。 カルシウム複合石鹸は、C12〜C24脂肪酸、ヒドロキシ脂肪酸、またはそれらの エステルもしくはグリセリドと、C2〜C6短鎖カルボン酸複合化剤とを使用して調 製される。従って、好適な酸としては、ヒドロキシステアリン酸、例えば、9-ヒ ドロキシ、10-ヒドロキシ、または12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸が挙げられる。不 飽和の脂肪酸もしくはヒドロキシ脂肪酸またはそれらのエステル、例えば、12- ヒドロキシステアリン酸の不飽和型であり9〜10位に二重結合を有するレシノー ル酸、ならびに各酸のエステルを使用することもできる。短鎖カルボン酸は、直 鎖もしくは分枝鎖であってもよく、好ましくはC2〜C6、より好ましくはC2、C3、 またはC4である。短鎖カルボン酸としては、例えば、酢酸、プロパン酸、ブタン 酸などが挙げられる。酢酸は、カルシウム複合グリースの製造時の好ましい複合 化剤である。酢酸を遊離酸の形態でグリース配合物に添加し、次いで、脂肪酸、 脂肪酸エステル、または脂肪酸グリセリドと共にCaOHを加えて中和することもで きるし、そのかわりに、酢酸カルシウムをグリースに直接添加することもできる 。 単純な酸タイプの石鹸（単純石鹸）または異なる酸タイプの酸混合物（複合石 鹸）を塩基で中和する処理は、通常、約180〜220°Fの範囲の温度で行われる。 石鹸がかなりの稠度まで増稠した場合、水を除去すべく温度を290〜310°Fまで 上昇させる。この後、約380〜420°Fの高温度まで加熱し、続いて、グリースの 調製時に使用される油のバランス分を添加し、次いで、約220°Fまで冷却するこ とも可能である。 グリース製造の熟練者は、複合リチウムまたはカルシウムグリースの製造に使 用される技術に精通していると予想されるが、様々なこうした製造方法について 、米国特許第3,681,242号、同第3,791,973号、同第3,929,651号、同第5,236,607 号、同第4,582,619号、同第4,435,299号、および同第4,787,992号に詳細に記載 されている。混合リチウム−カルシウム石鹸増稠グリースについては、米国特許 第5,236,607号、同第5,472,626号に記載されている。単純もしくは複合リチウム もしくはカルシウム石鹸またはリチウム−カルシウム石鹸の製造に使用される特 定の技術は、本発明において決定的な要因とは考えられず、従って、本発明の一 部をなすものではない。以上の記載事項は、単に例示されたものにすぎず、これ により制限されるものではない。 本発明において、好ましい増稠剤は、その製造に使用される技術とは関係なく 、複合リチウム石鹸である。 本発明のグリース配合物には、完成配合物を基準として、増稠剤約1〜30重量 ％、好ましくは増稠剤5〜15重量％が含まれる。 好ましい複合リチウムグリースベースか、米国特許第3,929,651号中に開示お よび特許請求されている。この特許には、その製造に関する詳細な手順について も教示されている。該特許の教示内容は、参照により本明細書に組み入れる。大 ざっぱに言えば、この複合リチウムグリースベースには、主成分の基油と、副成 分の複合リチウム石鹸増稠剤と、少量のC3〜C14ヒドロキシカルボン酸リチウム 塩（このOH基は、カルボキシル基の炭素を基点に、それから6個目の炭素原子ま での範囲にある炭素原子に結合されている）とが含まれる。 米国特許第3,929,651号において、複合リチウム石鹸は、該特許に記載の従来 型複合リチウム石鹸のいずれかであり、典型的には、C2〜C12ジカルボン酸のジ リチウム塩またはこのような酸のモノ−もしくはジーエステルと、C12〜C24脂肪 酸のリチウム塩または9-、10-、もしくは12-ヒドロキシC12〜C24脂肪酸のリチウ ム塩あるいはこのような酸のエステルと、が含まれる。これらの物質については 、先に詳細に説明した。このほかに、グリースにはまた、追加のリチウム塩成分 、すなわち、カルボキシル基の炭素を基点に、それから6個目の炭素までの範囲 にある炭素原子に結合されたOH基を有するヒドロキシカルボン酸のリチウム塩ま たはそれらのエステルが含まれる。この酸は、3〜14個の炭素原子を有し、脂肪 族酸、例えば、乳酸、6-ヒドロキシデカン酸、3-ヒドロキ シブタン酸、4-ヒドロキシブタン酸、6-ヒドロキシ-α-ヒドロキシ-ステアリン 酸などであってもよいし、芳香族酸、例えば、パラ-ヒドロキシ安息香酸、サリ チル酸、2-ヒドロキシ-4-ヘキシル安息香酸、メタ-ヒドロキシ安息香酸、2,5-ジ ヒドロキシ安息香酸（ゲンチジン酸）、2,6-ジヒドロキシ安息香酸（γレゾルシ ル酸）、2-ヒドロキシ-4-メトキシ安息香酸などであってもよいし、ヒドロキシ 芳香族脂肪族酸、例えば、2-(オルトヒドロキシフェニル)、2-(メタヒドロキシ フェニル)、もしくは2-(パラヒドロキシフェニル)-エタン酸であってもよい。脂 環式ヒドロキシ酸、例えば、ヒドロキシシクロペンチルカルボン酸またはヒドロ キシナフテン酸を使用することも可能である。特に有用なヒドロキシ酸（または それらのエステル）は、2-ヒドロキシ-4-メトキシ安息香酸、サリチル酸、およ びパラヒドロキシ安息香酸である。グリースを調製する際、後者のタイプの遊離 ヒドロキシ酸を使用する代わりに、低級アルコールエステル、例えば、この酸の メチルエステル、エチルエステル、プロピルエステル、イソプロピルエステル、 またはsecブチルエステル、具体的にはサリチル酸メチルを使用することもでき ボン酸がサリチル酸である場合に便利な方法の１つは、 C12〜C24脂肪酸または9-、10-、もしくは12-ヒドロキシC12〜C24脂肪酸と、ジカ ルボン酸とを、少なくとも一部分の油の中で、水酸化リチウムで同時に中和する 方法である。この中和は、約180°F〜220°Fの範囲の温度で行われるであろう。 石鹸ストックがかなりの稠度まで増稠した場合、約260°F〜300°Fまで温度を上 昇させて、脱水を行う。次に、石鹸ストックを約190°F〜210°Fまで冷却して、 C3〜C14ヒドロキシカルボン酸の追加の酸またはエステル、例えば、サリチル酸 メチルを添加し、その後、追加の水酸化リチウムを徐々に添加して、酸またはエ ステル、例えば、サリシレートを、酸またはエステル、例えば、サリシレート、 のジリチウム塩に変換する。反応は、約220°F〜240°Fにおいて、好ましくは、 反応を促進させるべく攪拌しながら行う。この反応では、アルコールが発生し、 酸またはエステル、例えば、サリシレート、のジリチウム塩が形成される。 次に、300°F〜320°Fで脱水を完了させ、その後、その収率を向上させるべく 、380〜390°Fで15分間にわたりグリースを加熱し、次いで、所望の稠度が得ら れるように追加の油を添加しながら冷却する。このほか、適切な酸またはエステ ルのジリチウム塩、例えば、サリチル酸のジリチウム塩、の系内（in situ）生 成を行う前に、追加の油を石鹸濃厚液に添加することもできる。 このほかの方法としては、グリースの製造に使用される３つのタイプの酸をす べて同時に中和する方法、すなわち第１のタイプのヒドロキシ脂肪酸、例えば、 ヒドロキシステアリン酸、およびジカルボン酸の中和と同時に、ヒドロキシC3〜 C14カルボン酸の低級エステル、例えば、メ チルサリシレート、の鹸化を行う方法が挙げられる。更に他の方法としては、ヒ ドロキシ脂肪酸、およびヒドロキシC3〜C14酸のエステルを同時に中和した後、 ジカルボン酸の中和を行う方法が挙げられる。 グリースには、完成グリース重量を基準に、3つのリチウム塩成分すべてが、 約2〜約35重量％、好ましくは約10〜約25重量％含まれている。C3〜C14ヒドロキ シカルボン酸の追加のリチウム塩（例えば、ジリチウムサリシレート）は、完成 グリースの0.05〜10重量％の範囲の量で存在する。C12〜C24脂肪酸または9-、10 -、もしくは12−ヒドロキシC12〜C24脂肪酸のリチウム石鹸と、ジカルボン酸の リチウム石鹸との比は、後者１重量部に対して前者0.5〜15重量部の範囲、好ま しくは、ジカルボン酸の石鹸1重量部に対してC12〜C24脂肪酸または9-、10-、も しくは12-ヒドロキシC12〜C24脂肪酸の石鹸1.5〜5重量部の範囲であってよい。C3 〜C14ヒドロキシカルボン酸とジカルボン酸との比は、ジカルボン酸1重量部に 対してヒドロキシカルボン酸約0.025〜2.5重量部、好ましくは、ジカルボン酸1 重量部に対してヒドロキシカルボン酸約0.125〜1.25重量部であろう。 本発明の部材に有用な好ましい複合リチウムグリースベースには、主成分の基 油と、先に説明した米国特許第3,929,651号に記載されている副成分の3元リチウ ム塩増稠剤と、チアジアゾールとが含まれる。この特定のグリースは、発明者Da vid L Andrewとして1996年9月11日付で出願された同時係属出願の米国特許出願 第712,066号に開示および特許請求されている。 この配合物に使用されるチアジアゾールタイプの物質は、以下の一般 式で表される。 R1−(S)x−Q−(S)y−R2 （1） 〔式中、Qは、1,3,4-チアジアゾール、1,2,4-チアジアゾール、1,2,3-チアジア ゾール、または1,2,5-チアジアゾール複素環であり、xおよびyは、同じであって も異なっていてもよく、1〜5の整数であり、R1およびR2は、同じであっても異な っていてもよく、ＨまたはC1〜C50炭化水素である〕 または（2） R1−(S)x−Q1−(S)z−Q2−(S)y−R2 （2） 〔式中、Q1およびQ2は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、1,3,4-チアジアゾ ール、1,2,4-チアジアゾール、1,2,3-チアジアゾール、または1,2,5-チアジアゾ ール複素環であり、x、y、およびzは、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、1〜 5の整数であり、R1およびR2は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、HまたはC1 〜C50炭化水素基である〕。 好ましいチアジアゾールは、x=1、y=1、z=2、R1=水素、R2=水素、Q1=Q2=1,3,4- チアジアゾールである構造2を有する。この好ましいチアジアゾールは、商品名V anlube 829としてR．T．Vanderbilt社から入手可能である。 好ましいグリースには、チアジアゾール物質が、完成グリースの0.05〜5重量％ の範囲の量で存在する。米国特許出願第712,066号では、グリースの耐酸化性を 増大させる目的で、チアジアゾール物質がグリースに添加される。 本発明のグリース配合物には、式：〔式中、RおよびR'は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、アルキル、アルケ ニル、アルキニル、アリール置換されたC1〜C30直鎖または分枝鎖の脂肪族鎖で あり、該脂肪族鎖は、この分子の窒素に結合している〕で表されるヒドロカルビ ルジアミンが、0.01〜10重量％、好ましくは0.05〜5重量％、より好ましくは0.2 〜1.5重量％含まれる。好ましくは、Rは、C12〜C18炭化水素部分、好ましくはア ルキルまたはアルケニル部分であり、R'は、C2〜C6炭化水素部分、好ましくはア ルキル部分である。 好ましいヒドロカルビルジアミンとしては、Rがドデシル基、R'が1,3-プロピル 二価基である化合物（商品名DUOMEEN CとしてAkzo Chemie社から市販されいる） またはR=オレイル基、R'=1,3-プロピルニ価基の化合物（DUOMEEN Oとして既知で ある）またはR=獣脂基、R'=1,3-プロピル二価基の化合物（DUOMEEN Tとして既知 である）が挙げられる。 更に、本発明のグリースには、従来型の酸化防止剤、極圧剤、粘着剤、染料な どの典型的なグリース添加剤が任意に含まれていてもよい。このような典型的な 添加剤およびそれらの機能については、C．J．Bone，“Modern Lubricating Gre ases”，Scientific Publication（G.B.）Ltd.，1976に記載されている。 酸化防止剤としては、例えば、フェノール系およびアミン系の酸化防止剤なら びにそれらの混合物が挙げられる。 アミン系酸化防止剤としては、ジアリールアミンおよびチオジアリー ルアミンが挙げられる。好適なジアリールアミンとしては、ジフェニルアミン、 フェニル-α-ナフチルアミン、フェニル-β-ナフチルアミン、α-α-ジ-ナフチ ルアミン、β-β-ジナフチルアミン、またはα，β-ジナフチルアミンが挙げら れる。このほかの好適な酸化防止剤としては、アリール基の一方または両方が、 例えば、1〜12個の炭素原子を有する線状または分枝状アルキル基でアルキル化 されたジアリールアミン、例えば、ジエチルジフェニルアミン、ジオクチルジフ ェニルアミン、メチルフェニル-α-ナフチルアミン、フェニル-β(ブチルナフチ ル)アミン、ビス(4-メチルフェニル)アミンまたはフェニル(3-プロピルフェニル )アミン、オクチル-ブチル-ジフェニルアミン、ジオクチルジフェニルアミン、 オクチル-，ノニル-ジフェニルアミン、ジノニルジフェニルアミン、およびこれ らの混合物が挙げられる。 好適なチオジアリールアミンとしては、フェノチアジン、アルキル化フェノチ アジン、フェニルチオ-α-ナフチルアミン、フェニルチオ-β-ナフチルアミン、 α-α-チオジナフチルアミン、β-β-チオジナフチルアミン、フェニルチオ-α( メチルナフチル)アミン、チオージ(エチルフェニル)アミン、(ブチルフェニル) チオフェニルアミンが挙げられる。 他の好適な酸化防止剤としては、式 〔式中、R4、R5、R6、R7は、水素、C1〜C20炭化水素基、またはピリジルであり 、R3は、C1〜C8炭化水素基、C1〜C20ヒドロカルビルアミン、ピリジル、または ピリジルアミンである〕で表されるトリアジンが挙げられる。望まれる場合には 、酸化防止剤の混合物が本発明の潤滑剤組成物中に存在してもよい。 フェノール系酸化防止剤としては、2,6-ジ-t-ブチルフェノール、アルキル置 換基が1〜20個の炭素原子を有する炭化水素である2,6-ジ-t-ブチルアルキル化フ ェノール、例えば、2,6-ジ-t-ブチル-4-メチルフェノール、2,6-ジ-t-ブチル-4- エチルフェノールなど、もしくはアルコキシ置換基が1〜20個の炭素原子を有す る2,6-ジ-t-ブチル-4-アルコキシフェノール、例えば、2,6-ジ-t-ブチル-4-メト キシフェノール；式〔式中、xは0〜5であり、R8およびR9は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、 酸素もしくは硫黄が含まれていてもよいかまたは酸素もしくは硫黄を含有する基 が置換されていてもよいC1〜C20炭化水素基である〕で表される物質；および式 〔式中、yは1〜4であり、R10は、酸素もしくは硫黄が含まれていてもよいかまた は酸素もしくは硫黄を含有する基が置換されていてもよいC1〜C20炭化水素基で ある〕で表される物質；ならびにこのようなフェノール系酸化防止剤の混合物が 挙げられる。 酸化防止剤、好ましくはアミン系および／またはフェノール系酸化防止剤は、 存在する場合、完成グリースの5重量％までの量で存在する。 以下の実施例および付随する比較例により、本発明を実証するが、本発明は、 これらに限定されるものではない。実施例 6つの試験配合物を調製した。そのうちの1つは、本発明の代表的な配合物（実 施例1）であり、残りの5つは、比較用配合物（比較例1〜5）である。すべての配 合物の物理的特性および種々の試験性能、特に、IP 220 European Test方法に準 じて行ったEMCOR錆試験における性能を次の表1に示す。 表2は、表1で参照したEMCOR錆試験の評価等級に対応した内容を表している。 表2 EMCOR 錆試験の評価等級 同一サンプルのベースグリースを使用して、表1に記載の実施例１、比較例1、 および比較例2の配合物を調製した。比較例2の配合物には、追加の防錆剤がまっ たく含まれていなかったが、比較例1および実施例1の配合物には、それそれバリ ウムスルホネートおよびDUOMEEN Cが含まれていた。バリウムスルホネート(NaSu l BSN)は、リチウムグリース配合物中で防錆剤として1%添加レベルで使用される ことが多い。表1のEMCOR試験のデータから、DUOMEEN Cは、バリウムスルホネー トよりも海水条件下での腐食をかなり効果的に防止することが判る。表1のデー タからは更に、DUOMEEN Cは、滴点、耐水性、耐摩耗性、稠度安定性などの他の グリース特性に悪影響を及ぼさないことが判る。実際上、DUOMEEN Cには、添加 剤による軟化の問題が生じないという長所もある。 添加剤による軟化の問題は、通常、従来型のスルホネートベースの防錆剤につき ものである。更に、DUOMEEN Cは、無灰であり、環境に悪影響を及ぼすと考えら れる金属（例えば、バリウム）をまったく含有していない。 表1には、また、カルシウムスルホネートおよびリチウムスルホネート（比較 例4および5）に基づく配合物が含まれている。比較例4および5の配合物には、比 較例3で使用したものと同じタイプのベースグリースが含まれている。比較例3の 配合物には、追加の防錆剤をまったく添加しなかった。比較例4および比較例5で 得られたEMCOR試験の結果を、比較例3で得られた試験結果と比較することにより 、リチウムグリースにカルシウムスルホネートまたはリチウムスルホネート（Na Sul 729またはNaSul 707）を1重量％添加しても、海水による錆を完全に防止す ることはできないことが判る。これとは対照的に、実施例1では、得られたEMCOR 錆試験の評価等級は、ゼロ（錆発生せず）であり、グリースの他の性能特性に悪 影響を及ぼすことはない。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １．潤滑粘度を有する主成分の基油と、増稠剤および式 〔式中、RおよびR'は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、C1〜C30炭化水素基 である〕で表されるジアミンを含む副成分の添加剤とを含有してなる潤滑グリー ス。 ２．前記増稠剤が、単純または複合リチウム石鹸、単純または複合カルシウム 石鹸、リチウムとカルシウムとの混合型の単純または複合石鹸、アルミニウム石 鹸、ウレア、ジウレア、トリウレア、またはポリウレアである請求項１記載のグ リース。 ３．潤滑粘度を有する前記基油が、天然または合成の基油から選ばれる請求項 １記載のグリース。 ４．潤滑粘度を有する前記基油が、ポリαオレフィンである請求項１記載のグ リース。 ５．前記増稠剤が、単純または複合リチウム石鹸、単純または複合カルシウム 石鹸、リチウムとカルシウムとの混合型単純石鹸、あるいはリチウムとカルシウ ムとの混合型複合石鹸である請求項１記載のグリース。 ６．増稠剤を1〜30重量％含有する請求項１記載のグリース。 ７．前記ジアミンを0.01〜10重量％含有する請求項１記載のグリー ス。 ８．グリースの耐食性を改良する方法であって、 式〔式中、RおよびR'は、同じであっても異なっていてもよく、C1〜C30炭化水素基 である〕で表されるジアミンを約0.01〜10重量％の量でグリースに添加すること を特徴とする方法。
