Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.移動通信ネットワークにおいて第1ステーションと第2の移動ステーショ ンとの間で方向性無線通信を行う方法であって、 上記第1ステーションにおいて上記第2ステーションから送信された通信デー タの連続バーストを識別し、 その逐次の通信データバーストが第1ステーションにより受信されたところの 各ビーム方向を複数の隣接するビーム方向から決定し、そして 上記第1ステーションから第2ステーションへ信号を送信するための1つ以上 のビーム方向を選択的に選び、逐次の通信データバーストが2つの異なるビーム 方向から第1ステーションにより受信されたことが決定されたときには、上記第 1ステーションから第2ステーションへ上記信号を送信するために上記2つの異 なるビーム方向を同時に選択するという段階を含むことを特徴とする方法。 2.上記2つの異なるビーム方向が隣接していないときには、上記異なる両ビ ーム方向に加えてその介在するビーム方向においても第1ステーションから第2 ステーションへ信号を送信する請求項1に記載の方法。 3.上記第1及び第2のビーム方向は、上記第1ステーションから送信される 所定の複数の連続信号に対して使用される請求項1又は2に記載の方法。 4.逐次のデータバーストの各々が受信されるところの上記決定された方向は 、最も強い信号が受信されたビーム方向として定義される請求項1、2又は3に 記載の方法。 5.逐次のデータバーストの各々が受信されるところの上記決定された方向は 、最短の経路をたどった信号が受信されたビーム方向として定義される請求項1 、2又は3に記載の方法。 6.第1ステーションと第2ステーションとの間の距離を表わす距離パラメー タを監視する段階を含み、第1ステーションと第2ステーションとの間の距離が 所定値より小さい場合には、第1及び第2信号が受信される方向に関わりなく、 第2ステーションへ送信される信号が比較的広角度の広がりで送信される請求項 1ないし5のいずれかに記載の方法。 7.第1ステーションと第2ステーションとの間の距離が上記所定値より小さ い場合には、信号が比較的低い電力レベルで第2ステーションへ送信され、そし てその距離が所定値より大きい場合には、信号が高い電力レベルで送信される請 求項6に記載の方法。 8.移動通信ネットワークにおいて第2の移動ステーションと方向性無線通信 を行う第1ステーションであって、 上記第2ステーションから送信された通信データの連続バーストを識別するた めの識別手段と、 その逐次の通信データバーストが第1ステーションにより受信されたところの 各ビーム方向を複数の隣接するビーム方向から決定するための決定手段と、 上記第2ステーションに信号を送信するための送信手段と、 上記第1ステーションから第2ステーションへ信号を送信するための1つ以上 のビーム方向を選択する制御手段であって、逐次の通信データバーストが2つの 異なるビーム方向から第1ステーションにより受信されたことが決定されたとき には、上記送信手段により信号を送信するために上記2つの異なるビーム方向を 同時に選択するよう構成された制御手段とを備えたことを特徴とする第1ステー ション。 9.上記制御手段は、上記2つの異なるビーム方向が隣接していないときには 、上記異なる両ビーム方向に加えてその介在するビーム方向においても通信デー タを送信するように送信手段を制御するよう構成された請求項8に記載の第1ス テーション。 10.上記制御手段は、所定の複数の連続信号を上記第1及び第2のビーム方 向に送信するように上記送信手段を制御するよう構成された請求項8又は9に記 載の第1ステーション。 11.上記ネットワークはセルラー通信ネットワークであり、そして上記第1 ステーションはベーストランシーバステーションである請求項1ないし7のいず れかに記載の方法。
