Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.セットの番組(プログラム)を複数の加入者位置に提供するための方法であ って、この方法が: 少なくとも一つ以上のセットの内容リクエストを受信するステップ; 前記受信された内容リクエストから所与の時間期間に対して満足なセットの 番組を識別するステップ;および 前記の識別された満足なセットの番組を各加入者位置に配信するステップを 含むことを特徴とする方法。 2.前記所与の時間期間に対して満足なセットの番組が、前記受信された内容リ クエストを最適化するステップを通じて識別されることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載の方法。 3.前記受信された内容リクエストを最適化するステップが: 複数の独立パラメータに、領域(リージョナル)制約下で、値を割当てるス テップを含み、この割当てが、依存パラメータの最大化あるいは最小化を目指す ことを特徴とする請求の範囲2に記載の方法。 4.前記依存パラメータが、加入者の満足度および配信コストを含むことを特徴 とする請求の範囲3に記載の方法。 5.前記領域(リージョナル)制約が、一連の番組のタイプ、順序、開始時間あ るいは終了時間の制約を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲3に記載の方法。 6.前記制御可能なパラメータ(独立パラメータ)が、下り帯域幅の総コスト、 サーバ資源の総コストおよび著作権使用料の総コストを含むことを特徴とする請 求の範囲3に記載の方法。 7.一連の個別の表現作品を含むセットの番組(プログラム)を、ケーブルヘッ ドエンドから複数の加入者位置に提供するためのシステムであって、このシステ ムが: 少なくとも一つ以上のセットの内容リクエストを複数の加入者位置から受信 するための手段;および 前記受信された内容リクエストから任意の選択された制約を決定するための 手段を含み、これら選択された制約が、各一連の個別の表現作品に対する番組の タイプ、順序、開始時間あるいは終了時間に対する制約を含み;このシステムが さらに 前記受信された内容リクエストからある時間期間に対して満足なセットの番 組を識別するための手段;および 前記識別された満足なセットの番組を各加入者位置に配信するための手段を 含むことを特徴とするシステム。 8.前記ある時間期間に対して満足なセットの番組を識別するための手段が、前 記受信された内容リクエストを最適化することを特徴とする請求の範囲7に記載 のシステム。
