(57)【要約】 【目的】 可撓性を有するワイヤーロッドを完全に固定
する。 【構成】 外面におねじ部２６を有し、ワイヤーロッド
２０に嵌めたときに一端部で一方のインプラント１１、
１２の側面に当接可能なほぼ筒状の第１部材２５と、第
１部材２５のおねじ部２６と螺合可能なめねじ部３１を
有し、ワイヤーロッド２０に嵌めたのちおねじ部２６に
めねじ部３１を螺合させた状態で他方のインプラント１
１′、１２′の側面に当接可能なほぼ筒状の第２部材２
９と、第１部材２５のおねじ部２６に螺合して第２部材
２９の端面に接し、第１、第２両部材２５、２９の緩み
止めとなるロック部材３４とから成るワイヤーロッドの
固定装置。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、骨に植設される複
数のインプラントを連絡するワイヤーロッドの固定のた
めの装置に関するものである。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】例えば損傷や病変の生じた複数の椎体に
インプラントを植設し、各インプラントをロッドを用い
て結合し、各椎体を一定の位置関係に保つことが行なわ
れる。上記ロッドとして従来は文字通り棒状の部材が使
用されてきた。しかしこれを取り付けるには、困難な曲
げ加工を手術中に行わねばならず、手間取ったり、或い
は無理な力を加えて骨にひびを入れたりするというよう
な問題があった。
【０００３】そこで本発明者はワイヤーを上記ロッドと
して使用することに着目し、開発を進めるとともに、成
果の一部については既に出願をした。このワイヤーロッ
ドは自由に曲げられ、どのような角度にも設定できるた
め手術をし易い上、悪影響がないという特徴がある。し
かしながら、完全な固定のためにはワイヤーの可撓性が
不利となる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は前記の点に着
目してなされたものであり、その課題は、可撓性を有す
るワイヤーロッドの完全な固定の実現を図ることであ
る。
【０００５】
【課題を解決するための手段】前記の課題等を解決する
ため本発明は、外面におねじ部が形成され、ワイヤーロ
ッドに嵌装したときに一端部で一方のインプラントの側
面に当接可能な、所要の長さを有するほぼ筒状の第１部
材と、上記第１部材のおねじ部と螺合可能なめねじ部が
内面に形成され、ワイヤーロッドに嵌装しておねじ部と
めねじ部とを螺合させた状態で他方のインプラントの側
面に当接可能な、所要の長さを有するほぼ筒状の第２部
材と、第１部材のおねじ部に螺合可能でありかつその状
態で第２部材の端面に接して第１、第２両部材の緩み止
めとなるロック部材とによってワイヤーロッドの固定装
置を構成するという手段を講じたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】本発明に係るワイヤーロッドの固
定装置は、骨に植設される複数のインプラントを連絡す
るワイヤーロッドを剛性の在来のロッドと同様の状態に
固定するものである。ワイヤーロッドは可撓性を有し、
インプラントのロッド受け部に、在来のロッドと同様に
受け支えられ、かつ止めねじにより締め着けられる。止
めねじによる締め付け力を受け止めるために、ワイヤー
にパイプ及びキャップを嵌めることができる。
【０００７】インプラントは、骨にねじ込むためのスク
リュー（ねじ）構造を持ち、その外方端部にロッド受け
部が通常は設けられる。ロッド受け部はインプラントの
ねじ軸方向とは交叉する方向を向いており、ワイヤーロ
ッドはそこへ載置ないしは差し込みによって配置され
る。つまりロッド受け部が溝のように開いた構造の場合
には、ワイヤーロッドを載せるように置くことができる
が、貫通孔のように両端以外は閉じた構造の場合には、
ワイヤーロッドを差し込むこととなる。
【０００８】このようなワイヤーロッドの固定のための
装置は、ほぼ筒状の第１部材と、第２部材及びロック部
材とから成る。第１部材と第２部材とは一体となって、
隣接したインプラントの間に介在する。
【０００９】第１部材は、外面におねじ部が形成され、
ワイヤーロッドに嵌装したときに一端部で一方のインプ
ラントの側面に当接可能なほぼ筒状の部材である。第１
部材は次に述べる第２部材と一体化して、隣接したイン
プラントの間に介在するために必要な長さを有する。
【００１０】上記第２部材は、第１部材のおねじ部と螺
合可能なめねじ部を内面に形成したほぼ筒状の部材であ
る。第２部材はワイヤーロッドに嵌装してそのめねじ部
と第１部材のおねじ部とを螺合させた状態で、他方のイ
ンプラントの側面に当接可能な所要の長さを有する。
【００１１】ロック部材は上記第１部材のおねじ部に螺
合可能であり、かつ螺合した状態で第２部材の端面に接
して、第１、第２両部材の緩み止めとなる。このロック
部材はロックナットに相当する。
【００１２】ワイヤーロッドは可撓性を有する点に特徴
があり、インプラントの両側でワイヤーロッドを曲げた
場合、第１部材と第２部材が隣接インプラントの側面に
隙き間なく面接触可能になるとは限らない。そこでイン
プラントの側面を凸状の球面形とし、他方、第１部材及
び第２部材の端面を凹状の円形ないしは球面形として面
接触可能な条件を与えることができる。なお、インプラ
ントのワイヤーロッドを受け支えるロッド受け部と、前
述したスクリューとは部材として１個のものである必要
はなく、２部品以上からなる構造であっても良い。

【実施例】以下図面を参照して本発明をより詳細に説明
する。２種を例示したインプラント１１、１２、１
１′、１２′は、下部がおねじ部１３、１４となってお
り、上端部がロッド受け部１５、１６となっている１個
の部材から成る。一方のロッド受け部１５は溝状構造の
ものであり、もう一方のロッド受け部１６は貫通孔構造
のものである。なお尖端を有しないおねじ部１４をもつ
ものは神経を刺激することがより少ない等の特徴を有す
るので、適用部位に応じて使い分ける。
【００１４】ロッド受け部１５、１６に配置されるワイ
ヤーロッド２０の止めねじ１７による締め着けのために
ねじ込み孔１８、１９が形成されている。またロッド受
け部１５、１６が設けられたインプラント１１、１２の
外方端部は球状に形成され、ロッド受け部１５、１６の
位置はその球の直径方向と一致する（図２参照）。
【００１５】ワイヤーロッド２０は、ワイヤー構造を持
つロッド本体２１と、そこに嵌め合わせるパイプ２２及
び端部キャップ２３とを有する。例示のロッド本体２１
はステンレス鋼線の撚り線構造を持つ。パイプ２２及び
端部キャップ２３は止めねじ１７を受け止めることによ
りねじ締めを確実にするもので、ロッド本体２１に嵌め
合わせたのちかしめ変形により一体化される。
【００１６】例示の第１部材２５は外周面のほぼ全体に
形成されたおねじ部２６を有し、一端部には多角形等の
スパナ掛け部２７を有する全体として筒形のものであ
る。外方のスパナ掛け部２７の側の端面２８は一方のイ
ンプラント１１、１２の球状端部と密に接触可能なよう
に凹状の円形に形成されている。例示の第２部材２９は
内周面に上記おねじ部２６と螺合可能なめねじ部３１を
有し、外周面には多角形等のスパナ掛け部３２を有する
全体として筒形のものである。同じく外方端となる側の
端面３３は他方のインプラント１１′、１２′の球状端
部と密に接触可能なように凹状の円形に形成されてい
る。
【００１７】これらの第１、第２両部材２５、２９はそ
のおねじ部２６とめねじ部３１とで螺合一体化して、伸
縮可能な１種の介在物若しくはスペーサとなり、隣接す
るインプラント１１、１２の側面において球面同士で接
触可能である（図４参照）。この状態を維持してワイヤ
ーロッドの固定を完全にするために、ロック部材３４が
組み合わされる。ロック部材３４は、内面に前記おねじ
部２６と螺合可能なめねじ部３５、外面にスパナ掛け部
３６を有する。
【００１８】各図中、３７はロッド受け部１５、１６の
端部開口の拡がり部であり、可撓性を有するワイヤーロ
ッド２０の曲がりに対応するために設けられている。
【００１９】このような本装置は、椎体Ｖの各々に植設
された複数のインプラント１２…を連絡するワイヤーロ
ッド２０に取り付けて、各インプラントの位置に合わせ
て曲げられたワイヤーロッド２０を剛性物と化す。各イ
ンプラント１２…間において本装置は第１部材２５と第
２部材２９との間隔を最適の寸法とした状態とした上で
ロック部材３４により最終固定され、その結果椎体の位
置関係が概ね一定に保たれる（図５参照）。

【発明の効果】本発明は以上の如く構成されかつ作用す
るものであるから、可撓性を有するワイヤーロッドによ
る曲げ変形容易という恩恵を享受しながら、その所要の
形態を維持するために、完全にワイヤーロッドを固定
し、所期の目的を達成することができるという効果を奏
する。

Claims (3)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 骨に植設される複数のインプラントを連
    絡するワイヤーロッドの固定のための装置であって、外
    面におねじ部が形成され、ワイヤーロッドに嵌装したと
    きに一端部で一方のインプラントの側面に当接可能な、
    所要の長さを有するほぼ筒状の第１部材と、上記第１部
    材のおねじ部と螺合可能なめねじ部が内面に形成され、
    ワイヤーロッドに嵌装しておねじ部とめねじ部とを螺合
    させた状態で他方のインプラントの側面に当接可能な、
    所要の長さを有するほぼ筒状の第２部材と、第１部材の
    おねじ部に螺合可能でありかつその状態で第２部材の端
    面に接して第１、第２両部材の緩み止めとなるロック部
    材とからなることを特徴とするワイヤーロッドの固定装
    置。
  2. 【請求項２】 インプラントの側面を凸状の球面形と
    し、他方、第１部材及び第２部材の端面を凹状の円形と
    することにより、隙き間のない接触を可能とした請求項
    １記載のワイヤーロッドの固定装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 ワイヤーロッドは、ワイヤー構造を持つ
    ロッド本体と、そこに嵌め合わせるパイプ及び端部キャ
    ップとを有する請求項１記載のワイヤーロッドの固定装
    置。
